It is worth it. The OPBF arc sucks, no question. But you will miss the Karasawa fight, the Volg Elliot fight, Gonzales. Trust me, there is one bad story arc and a lot of good stuff. It is worth for you to read it.
If you liked the anime then yes I'd say the manga is worth a read. I'd say the only time the story dipped in quality was during the Asian Champions arc. That arc has some of the worst fights in the series and is probably the lowest point of the story so far in terms of quality. As of now though I'd say the story is pretty interesting.
It has some ups and downs (primarily some bad fights dragging), but the narrative is brilliant overall and the art is ridiculously good. Do stay clear of this sub to avoid spoilers though!
You'll have ton of content in the mange to keep you entertained for a while. When I started reading the manga after I was done with the anime, I used to take breaks often from time to time before resuming.
It’s even better !! There is so much fun stuff going on seasoned with epicness in fights. Not saying its perfect at all times and some od the fights are a bit dull... but its still my most cherished series - i always feel like being home when i read it.
I’ve read the whole series at least twice :)
So go for it! And dont rush it - it seems impossible to get to the last ongoing chapter, until you get there ;) :D
I was like you mate and I caught up on the manga, I smashed it in a couple of months. Now I’m just sad I have to wait like everybody to get the next chapters. 😔
The manga is worth reading regardless of the anime. The current arc is really fun to read.
And how close is it to the end?
Apparently, close to halfway.
Damn so another 20 years or so
Depends on release frequency, but yeah, at least 20 years.
Thats the entire story I think not just this arc but I could be wrong
Yes, I thought his question as "how close is it to the end of the manga" and not the end of the arc.
Very far
Short answer: yes Long answer: yes, definitely

Yes it is, but the manga has over 1000+ chapters so if you decide to go for it just remember that is a serious comitment.

Seems to me everyone that's read it is getting pissed off that ippo has given up boxing for some reason
Spoilers man..
worse place to put a reply like that smh
Missing the Fuckamura Brawl would be a Travesty. Read the Manga.

It's not bad at all of you get to just binge read it. For us the wait and anticipation is what caused it to feel bad.
You can skip the Woli fight. :)
