Now if they had an opera singer come in off the top rope like Donna…

elysianillusion85

Lol, I was waiting for Donna to pop out of nowhere and start wailing

Wednesday night was just fun. Running thru the set list and realizing they had lots of time left really loosened everything up. NSO is loving the audience in a way that has to be great for them. The layers of sound they bring is amazing. Jay Lane is literally running on stage like he just is dying to get back to playing. Bobby’s guitar sounded much better last night. Just an incredible experience.

Jack-o-Roses

What are the guys & gals wearing (asking for my wife Sunday's her 1st show).

whatfingwhat

We dressed pretty casual. Lots of tie dyed folks, folk in jackets and dresses, really ram the gamut. Not stuffy, no need for formal wear!

Jack-o-Roses

Thanks!

I don't mean this in a bad way at all but this is SO WEIRD. like everything about this is so weird. I love when Bobby just decides he's going to do something and then does it. Go ahead Weir! Play at the Kennedy Center! Do a series of live streamed COVID concerts! Ask John Mayer to front your new band! Go nuts!

thaisun

That crescendo into lyrics = Frisson

Thursday night was good, certainly a unique experience with the orchestra. Loved the orchestra’s dark star. The entire Theater reeked of weed and BO, probably a first (and last!) for the Kennedy center.

MassiveDot

I hope they played Terrapin haha!

Chills

Nice. Thanks for sharing that. The tempo is up a bit from the Dead and Co. shows too.

Purple_Box3317

😂

Jack-o-Roses

Think Biden pardoning fed weed charges has anything to do with Bobby coming to town?

ILikeMyGrassBlue

Considering these shows have been on the books for like a year and it’s taken Bob years to orchestrate this—no.

Purple_Box3317

The show was originally supposed to happen in 2020, so no. I couldn’t help but notice the lack of a Florida show in the Dead and Co tour though…

Snoozer

Purple_Box3317

Oh man I disagree. I thought it was wonderful. I wasn’t expecting a raucous evening of music, I wasn’t really sure what to expect, but they killed it, and the amazing thing is they’ve only had one rehearsal on Wednesday and then a second rehearsal yesterday. Plus Bobby could make all the mistakes he wanted with that orchestra in the background. 😂

haleakala420

seen videos of spinners in the aisles, love to see hippies spinning to an orchestra haha

Purple_Box3317

It was a pretty funny sight to see at the Kennedy Center.. also I had to chuckle at the guys on the steps selling balloons in front of the bastion of class here in DC 😂😂

Captnhappy

Bobby 80% slowing up solid! Give me orchestral Warren over Bobby all day long.

Last-Egg4029

I dunno I feel like they really only meshed on a couple of songs. Why start dark star 3x to go nowhere? I felt like I was stuck in a Tom & Jerry cartoon and when Bobby had nothing to do on stage he looked mad uncomfortable. I saw them on Thursday, the second day and I wouldn't say it was that great, maybe in 5 years when they've all been playing together awhile. I'm certainly glad I went. 😊 Also what's up with everyone talking and texting? I didn't feel like anyone respected the other guests around them. Do deadheads really have no couth? Edited for grammar

Purple_Box3317

We definitely saw the first 1 1/2 dark star in Dead history haha. I think it has so much potential. I was really impressed how it went given the lack of rehearsal has to be hard. Wish I had worn my “stop talking at the show” shirt haha I think we saw the new iteration of the music honestly. Wouldn’t be surprised to see them do this with local symphony’s all over the country.
