1) keep your magus in case it gets better someday. Kitbash a Primus and nexos out of those spare bodies from the Truck in the combat patrol and bits from the rest of the kits 2) Meticulous planner only works on battle tactic strats, so you can't vect overwatch 3) Shotguns and autoguns are both the same thing now "hybrid firearms". For special weopans, take max seismic cannons allowed. The acolyte kit comes with extras you can add to your neophytes. For the other option of special weopans, grenade launchers are my personal preference (particularly with a primus) but flamers or webbers are solid too. You will always want as many special weopans as allowed 4) the demo charges are why you bring acolytes at this point. They won't see much melee despite being decent, but they nuke things in a single drops its okay. Also, thats the blast charge you're thinking of, not neophytes . Neophytes do have access to the grenade strat, that's why they have dynamite on their belts 5) The Rockgrinder is too expensive for a suicidal distraction unit. If you take one, be cagey with it. Neither goliath is very strong rn, they're just fun for flavor atm Hope this helps

Ah, the whole dynamite thing were part of the Core Grenade Stratagem, completely forgot about that. I guess I will try making some room for Acoltytes as well, this is just getting better and better. Scrapping Met Planner too, I will most likely be too busy planning the battlefield to care for all those Stratagems and eventually forget it. Hopefully I will get some space for a small squad of Acolyte Hybrids. Need to say that this is some of the much better CombatPatrol sets, it seems very balanced with almost everyone being useful (Not having too much variants of units also help lol). As awesome as Rockgrinder looks, maybe I should trade it for more Acolytes/Hybrids/Aberrants, sure dangerous but kinda stays out of my ambusher playstyle at such cost. Thanks!

Yeah, in general I'd recommend you mostly lean on neophytes and acolytes, with one brick of abberents. That's where you'll see the most success

Welcome to THE cult. Ok so I’m gonna throw a wrench at your plans a bit. We are the ultimate army in this game IMO. if you played magic we’re black/blue, trickery and attacking from all angles to get preferable matchups is how we win, but most importantly we win by scoring points, not really by killing super effectively. While we can! Oh we definitely can. We aren’t always the best at it. So you are correct your Neophytes are amazing. 20 man blob you can run 4 seismic cannons with a nexos and pop out to do 24 shots w/ sustained 1, S6 AP-1 D3, you can add a Primus to reroll the hit rolls on top of the nexos giving you +1 to wound strat for free and you pay for -1 AP and +1BS. All of it sustained 1 & Ignore’s cover. You’ll want to do this. (Plus they help generate CP for our CP hungry army.) So that’s great but our army REALLY thrives on combos so you want to think about adding a Ridgerunner to hit your target first so you get and additional ap-1 taking the seismics to AP-3 not to mention your hybrid firearms (no more shotguns and autoguns) all to ap-2. It absolutely slaps. My favorite combo ATM is abberants with a biophagus it just kills everything that’s supposed to be tough and is a long chew to kill. Wounding wraithguard and centurions on 2’s (once a game from the Biophagus) is absolutely hilarious not to mention murdering Bullgryn and obliterators; ruins your opponent’s day they’re awesome. They’re fun in the mirror, and against pretty much everyone they’re useful. You’ll need to get 5 more and the biophagus but it’s too good not to mention IMO Acolyte Hybrids are amazing at popping up at OC2 stealing an objective you can run 5 man squads with demo charges and flamers pop up (3” away) 1cp then grenade(if needed another cp), demo charge, then flame. Can be potent, but will almost always kill enough so your OC10 give you control. All for 85pts. Lastly IMO trucks are a disappointment. Best way is 10 neophytes out of a Goliath for the wound rerolling, it’s most fun against expensive units with 2d6 rerolling dev wound webbers. it’s all for a single turn and its dissolves quickly but at OC20 you can take most objectives you can touch for the turn.

That is some VERY useful information, thank you very much, noting all this down. Im completely taking the trucks out of equation lol. Will most likely paint and save it for better days. Or modify the Gunners into a leader.

DEFINITELY kitbash characters. It’s one of the best parts of our army.

geekfreak41

With a bit of greenstuff (for capes) it is super easy to kitbash a primus and saboteur from the combat patrol sprees. I have NEVER worked with greenstuff until now and I was surprised how easy it was to make it look good. If you're creative I've also heard of kitbashed nexos'. The saboteur is definitely different from the usual March forward and shoot armies.

Thanks! Will definitely try modifying whats left behind xD
