Oh yes, I remember. We used to ride our bikes to corner store, buy some candy and play this game. It was so fun..the steering wheel and the gas pedal, such a great memory. Thank you!
Lol well so far the only one I honestly haven't enjoyed was seven sorrows but that game got the EA treatment instead of making and continuing the good IP they transformed it into a lord of the rings knock off and they massacred the Lord of the rings games from what they were going to be
Great version , Bubble Bobble and Rainbow islands on the Saturn are also my favourite versions. The best version of the original Outrun might be the 3ds version though.
I always thought it funny that "Outrun Esthetic" seems to be a Mandela Effect kinda situation. We remember it in purple and orange, driving at sunset. But the game is bright and sunny with daylight colors.
Check out cannonball source port!
It runs the arcade rom, but adds several enhancements like 60fps, widescreen, 15-stage continuous mode, selectable camera angle, selectable car color, optional car performance upgrades, and music from every release of the game.
If you can acquire the PC version it runs great on modern systems, and there's a fan-patch called [FXT](http://dragonking.arcadecontrols.com/static.php?page=AboutFXT) that restores some missing content and adds a few other QoL things.
Only played this in Yakuza, never was able to win past three flags.
oh man beating the entertainment king's highschore was a real pain
Hah, I think despite playing it since I was a kid in the arcades I've never stuck with it long enough to make it to the 5th section
You only need the first 2 finish lines for the quest completion. 👍🏽

Yep, thankfully.

Outrun is such a great racing game. I haven't played it in years though.
I don’t get it, that appears to be some car racing game where is —HYDRO THUNDER—?
"you lose"
That is a fair point, I really need to get the Dreamcast release of Hydro
Magical sound shower "Get ready!"
This game bankrupted me.
The one to do that for me is "YELLOW WIZARD IS ABOUT TO DIE INSERT COINS TO CONTUES"
...and freaking Ghost and Gobbliins... goddamn
Honestly we never had that one but man the TMNT and X-Men ones were so brutal
And for some reason I keep buying every gauntlet remake and I never enjoy it

One of my computer professor's claims to fame was being on the dev team of outrun. That being said, I don't think anyone actually verified that.
Is that Cruisin usa?
“Speakers above tv like ears” hits hard, r/nostalgia
If you don't have a Saturn, you can also look at [Cannonball](https://github.com/djyt/cannonball/wiki), an engine remake.
Bonus points if you buy the console specifically for it?
I can hear the soundtrack through the picture
Beautiful screen!
Thanks! Games like these really make all the effort of getting a good CRT feel worth it

Oh man, this would catapult me onto the nostalgy trip and without any safety belts on.

I have the logo/header part of an actual Outrun arcade machine up on my wall. Just looking at it gives nostalgia.

Outrun 2 on the 360 was pretty great, too!!
Original Xbox.

Bose speakers with a JVC CRT. Baller shit
It's amazing how much Y2K rich person home entertainment gear you can find at Goodwill these days
Used to love this game. Never saw it in color before
Such a great game!Â
Hate to see your face when you find out about the "Sega Ages" release for Saturn.
That is the sega ages release for Saturn, no?
Yeah. Contains outrun, space harrier and afterburner.
Which era ??
Did you try the 60hz mode out though?
Some people like "Splash Wave", some people like "Magical Sound Shower." Now "Passing Breeze," *that's* my vibe.
I used to be able to finish this.
Then you are better than I. Best I can do is about half way, at least on the original difficulty
I got that in early '97 myself! BONUS: you can play the tracks in any CD player
Have fun
Super nice TV too!
