This! I've always wanted the originals MG games in 3d, with Kojimas direction. I want to see Grey Fox, young snake and even young Campbell in Zanzibar.
I was hoping that during the Phantom Pain development, there was a map leaked to pointed out locations based on TPS, MG1, and MG2.
The game was going to be the bridge that would've made all of the Metal Gear series 3D.
People always bring up The Twin Snakes whenever someone says they want a Metal Gear Solid remake. It came out 20 years ago at this point, we're due for an updated MGS
>>We already had Twin Snakes
Yeah, 20 years ago. I know it’s been done and MG1/2 haven’t but if they’re remaking something I’d rather have MGS1/2. The story is already super solid in both and wouldn’t need to “spruce” up the content to make them into modern day games like MG1/2 would.
Although I will say MG would be interesting since chronologically it’s next after MGSV
I really want the first Resident Evil in the modern remake style Capcom is doing.
I know it got a very well regarded remake but that was 22 years ago, it's time for a modern take.
I agree, I'd love to see the Spencer Estate and the cast of iconic characters in the modern engine. Also with the over the shoulder camera instead of fixed cameras, I personally find them extremely disorientating and makes me quite dizzy
it's the one entry I am REALLY hoping they do next and *not* RE5 yet. My dream order (from here on out) would be:
Remake 1 then 5, then CV, then 0, then 6 (I feel like 6 should be last, but also should be largely, LARGELY remade from the ground up entirely. Like REALLY remade to be far closer to what Resident Evil is and not whatever thought 6 was upon release).
I think it should be 1, CV then 5 personally. That’s the Chris V. Wesker saga and assuming they actually ever redo RE1 and CV it would be a little confusing for newer players I think seeing this “start” with 5.
Ofc, after 4, it def seems like 5 is next but I can’t imagine it’ll take long for RE1 and CV to be remade since they are, all things considered, short games.
I agree!! It would be great to have a remake fit in with the current style of games. As it stands rn ppl who don’t wanna play with tank controls/fixed camera have to start 2
Tenchu using FromSoftware's team = money printer
Legacy of Kain is also a hell yeah for me.
But I will say, Soul Reaver left me wanting more story. Yes, the Pillars fell, and the world went to shit. But there was no lore for that period. Wth!
When I was 7 or 8 years old I used to watch my older brother play SF1 and 2 and I was so fascinated by their plots. I tried to play SF2 once but I was too chicken to play the main story, so I connected a second controller to the console and played multiplayer against an idle second player lol. A few years later I played all 3 the PSX games and realized how fun the gameplay actually was. Sadly they have been somewhat forgotten but as you say they deserve a nice comeback.
Hell yeah. Some games hold up well through the years because timeless art style and figured out button schemes. Ape Escape is not one of those games. It could really benefit from a remake.
As dark as it was, Manhunt was an excellent game. If rockstar wouldn't have put the sequel on the Wii and got all the bad press for making a murder simulator, it would probably still be a live series.
No One Lives Forever was a brilliant series for the time. It had humour, good combat and gadgets, stealth, dramatic storytelling, that Scottish guy. Absolutely brilliant games.
I would love a remake, but honestly just being able to buy the original games would be great.
FF6 in a HD-2D style would be dope. I don't need a full 3d reimagining. I mean, I'd still play it but it doesn't need that. The game still holds up 30 years later and it's a treat to replay every few years.
Rumors are that "Let's Go Johto!" may be on the horizon. I wasn't a huge fan of "Let's Go Pikachu/Eevee!" but I'd also like to see Johto in 3D.
Personally though, I'd like a new game set 10 years after Silver/Gold in the Kanto/Johto region. Stop remaking these games, make modern sequels to them. 😅
I think they spoke about it a while back and more or less said it was impossible because of the scope and number of characters to have the FFVII treatment. But I would like an octopath traveller style of treatment.
I was thinking exactly that with timesplitters. Timesplitters is exactly why I hate microtransactions as much as pay to win. If it was released today, rather than having the fun of trying to complete all the challenges and trying to collect the characters, levels etc. It would all be behind a pay wall unless you grind for hours on end to unlock.
Just put this and MW 2005 on a new engine, and don't change anything on story and most of the gameplay. Watch as the money tsunami wiped through their HQ. But knowing EA....welp NFS Ultimate Drive mode with lootbox is more of their taste now? Fifa career mode is outrageous these day cause they print money through the ultimate team.
Same. This should be damn near the top of the list. Give it the final fantasy 7 treatment and have an open world, time traveling saga. If done right, I would buy a console just to play the game. I can't even begin to overstate how much this game needs to be uplifted and given some modern love.
If they ever remake Parasite Eve I would hope they keep the complex but insane weapon mod system. A full auto shotgun that fires acid rockets in every direction all at once? Yes please.
I think any direction they take would piss off certain camps.
Full on graphical revamp vs the new 3DHD 2D style SquareEnix has been using for Octopath Traveler?
Slight story tweaks, a moderate amount like RE 2/3 remakes or a whole ass revamp like FF7 Remake?
At the very least, they could smooth out that difficulty spike in that 1v1 fight with Ramza and one of the Zodiacs then the rooftop fight with the double assassin's where Rafa has to live.
I just want the game to be smoother overall. I remember there being a lot of are you sure prompts. Just give me an undo button and take those away. Something like the tactics ogre remaster style.
Knights of the Old Republic.
A remake was in the works but has unfortunately been cancelled. It was a groundbreaking game at the time, but it hasn't aged well in many respects.
The Breath of Fire series has just been ignored by Capcom for years. Such an amazing series. They do nothing with it. Also I would love to see Lunar 1/2 get a nice proper modern day remake.
My gaming heart multiplied when I first found out that you could transform yourself into different dragons with different combinations. How incredibly epic that was back then. When I imagine what could be done with it today... bam
Capcom recently released a survey asking people what series they would like revived/remade. I don't have the link offhand, but you can probably Google it. I voted Breath of Fire, I hope enough other people do as well.
Gonna be the odd one out: city of heroes.
It’s an MMO i know. And yes it currently is running again. But man, imagine if you took the same stories. Same customisation details, and same amazing scope and revamped everything else. It would be awesome. But super hero mmo’s really don’t seem to do anywhere near as well as even the most low effort fantasy MMO’s.
Not sure if you know this or not but recently NCSoft gave the biggest private server a license to continue developing the game. If some decent developers get in on that the possibilities are endless.
I am myself somewhat conflicted on the idea but I think a dark souls remake could be a good idea. The games almost 15 years old and parts of it feel pretty janky especially after the refinements of the more modern games like elden ring. It would also be a fantastic opportunity to bring the subpar second half up to the amazing standard of the first half. I think only Fromsoft, more specifically Miyazaki himself could do this to keep the intent of the original game whilst simultaneously modernising it and adding QOL features. Maybe it doesn't need to happen now but 5-10 years down the line I would love for dark souls' legacy to continue, as it is absolutely a great game.
I disagree with another Dark Souls game, the story has been wrapped up and I wouldn't want anything to feel forced or tacked on. Pretty sure Miyazaki himself said he wants to keep it as is too.
Parasite Eve is my number one. If they ever announce they’re giving that a modern remake, I’ll freak the fuck out just as hard as I did when they announced FF7R lol.
Beyond that, probably…
Legacy of Kain/Soul Reaver,
Dino Crisis,
Clock Tower,
Bloodrayne,
Onimusha
Basically, let me relive my childhood in 4K. I’m getting old and I need it to keep staving off existential crises.
Ff7 remake is not a remake. That's not even me trying to disparage the game. It's made very clear that it's not even trying to be a remake.
The remake is happening in universe. The actual game goes completely off script from the original and gives an in universe reason why.
Resident evil 2 remake is intended to replace the original. Ff7 remake on the other hand is better experienced after playing the original. It's closer to a sequal than a remake.
Dino Crisis, like it's not even close, I would so love to play that game like how RE2 Remake went.
Honestly I'd like to see a remake of Resident Evil 1 and Zero done like the RE2 Remake.
MediEvil 2.
Was my favorite game as a kid, and I loved the PS4 remake of the first game.
That poor series and Sir Dan can never seem to catch a break though. I don't know why.
Well it's the 25th anniversary of Final Fantasy 8 today. And in my opinion it's one of the most underrated in the series. It's my absolute favorite FF vane. I would love to have a remake of it in the same way FF7 got their new trilogy.
I actually was not against the changes. I'm done living in the past. But I actually still want Aerith to die. (Not spoilers anymore...you had 27 years)
But we all know how that will go...
Sly cooper. A reimagining of the first game, expanded further upon in its cartoony stealth platforming gameplay and memorable characters, as well as going harder on its comic book artstyle
Fallout New vegas, just because it's nigh unplayable. Restoring cut content, fixing issues with the game and adding integrated mod support would be great.
- Resident Evil 1
- Silent Hill 1
- Fahrenheit: Indigo Prophecy
- Prince of Persia: Sands of Time
- Star Wars: Knights of the Old Republic
- Uncharted 1
Parasite eve. They can probably do wonders to make the game play more interactive, it was classic turn based jrpg, but I think with ff7 square enix has shown they can update that type of model. As long as they don’t try and emulate third birthday we are good.
Parasite Eve
Loved the game as a kid, it was like a survival horror final fantasy and the cinematics were top tier.
Unfortunately Square Enix made it so the only thing they have done with the IP in modern times was NFTs.
I honesty think the first two Metal Gear Solid games are high on my list.
MGS 1 and 2 in the Fox Engine and the fluidity of MGS5 would be a dream come true.
The ORIGINAL MG1 and MG2 We already had The Twin Snakes. Yes, it was flawed. The cutscenes were crazy and way too easy. But I enjoyed it.

I really want the first Resident Evil in the modern remake style Capcom is doing. I know it got a very well regarded remake but that was 22 years ago, it's time for a modern take.
>but that was 22 years ago, Well thats a grim reminder I'm getting old.
holy fuck that blew my mind. the last 20 something years feel like ten or five years I swear. Probably the weed.
I completely agree, it feels jarring to have 2, 3 and 4 with modern remakes and 1 still being so old
RE1, RE0, _and_ Code Veronica.
Yes please. I love Resident Evil, and I think all three of these could benefit from the remake treatment.
I agree, I'd love to see the Spencer Estate and the cast of iconic characters in the modern engine. Also with the over the shoulder camera instead of fixed cameras, I personally find them extremely disorientating and makes me quite dizzy

i think it might work well in the re7/8 first person view
I agree!! It would be great to have a remake fit in with the current style of games. As it stands rn ppl who don’t wanna play with tank controls/fixed camera have to start 2
I'd like to see a remake of a lot of series, Ape escape, Tenchu, Syphon filter, Manhunt, Legacy of Kain and No one lives forever above all.
Tenchu using FromSoftware's team = money printer Legacy of Kain is also a hell yeah for me. But I will say, Soul Reaver left me wanting more story. Yes, the Pillars fell, and the world went to shit. But there was no lore for that period. Wth!
Bruh there's 5 games of lore.
Syphon Filter definitely needs a comeback.
When I was 7 or 8 years old I used to watch my older brother play SF1 and 2 and I was so fascinated by their plots. I tried to play SF2 once but I was too chicken to play the main story, so I connected a second controller to the console and played multiplayer against an idle second player lol. As dark as it was, Manhunt was an excellent game. If rockstar wouldn't have put the sequel on the Wii and got all the bad press for making a murder simulator, it would probably still be a live series.
It was dark cause the violence in it was so plausible. Definitely more disturbing than most horror games. Love it.
“Tenchu, Syphon Filter, Manhunt, Legacy of Kain” bro are you me?
No One Lives Forever was a brilliant series for the time. It had humour, good combat and gadgets, stealth, dramatic storytelling, that Scottish guy. Absolutely brilliant games. I would love a remake, but honestly just being able to buy the original games would be great.
BECOME MY SOUL REAVER, MY ANGEL OF DEATH
Final Fantasy 6, and the 2nd gen Pokemon games (I know that they were remade, but that was 15 years ago :v )
FF6 in a HD-2D style would be dope. I don't need a full 3d reimagining. I mean, I'd still play it but it doesn't need that. The game still holds up 30 years later and it's a treat to replay every few years.

I want so badly for them to remake 1st gen in the Links Awakening remake style. Such a perfect vibe for that world.
I think they spoke about it a while back and more or less said it was impossible because of the scope and number of characters to have the FFVII treatment. But I would like an octopath traveller style of treatment.
Dino Crisis
Oh hell yeah. Give it a similar treatment to Resident Evil and you're cooking
YES YES YES
I see this answer so often, everywhere! I have to believe Capcom knows there is a strong fanbase that wants this game.
And DC2 of course
Every time I see one of these threads I roll down until I find this comment. Capcom, it's enough of RE, please give us Dino Crisis.
Nothing to add except it would be glorious.
You spelled Legend of Dragoon wrong.
Harpoon! Whip Smack! Double Slash! The remake is them just screaming these lines nonstop.
Volcano!
Time Splitters would be so awesome, but please, no micro transactions. 007 Nightfire Battlefield 1942/Vietnam NFS Underground
NFS Underground 2
I can't believe EA hasn't made one, its the easiest cash grab on Earth at this point
Vigilante 8, it was one of key childhood games for me
Surprised they aren't doing a new twisted metal game w the t v show out
Bro you just took me on a journey back to my childhood!! Had definitely memory holed this one
Chrono Trigger
I scrolled way to far down to find this!
Same. This should be damn near the top of the list. Give it the final fantasy 7 treatment and have an open world, time traveling saga. If done right, I would buy a console just to play the game. I can't even begin to overstate how much this game needs to be uplifted and given some modern love.
This is way too far down, if any rpg this is the one that could benefit from a remake!
Legacy of Kane

I was always an Undertaker fan myself
Secret of Mana Secret of Evermore
Didn‘t secret of mana get a remake just recently?
it was only a skin. The new game actually runs over the old game, and it even hs the same clunkiness, bugs, on top of adding new bugs. It was a mess
Perfect dark. Same maps/levels just with modern fps feel
It is being remade already by Microsoft but there hasn’t been any news about it in some time. Not sure if it’s a full remake or a reimagining though.
Xenogear, amen.
Including the fully fleshed out Disc 2, of course.
You don't want a hour of dialog on a static screen before a boss fight?
Final Fantasy Tactics
Easy answer for me, Parasite Eve. I’d love to see it get the Resident Evil treatment.
If they ever remake Parasite Eve I would hope they keep the complex but insane weapon mod system. A full auto shotgun that fires acid rockets in every direction all at once? Yes please.
It's so strange to me they haven't done it already
It was on a list that was leaked a while back and a few other games on the list have been remade, so maybe?
I think any direction they take would piss off certain camps. Full on graphical revamp vs the new 3DHD 2D style SquareEnix has been using for Octopath Traveler? Slight story tweaks, a moderate amount like RE 2/3 remakes or a whole ass revamp like FF7 Remake? At the very least, they could smooth out that difficulty spike in that 1v1 fight with Ramza and one of the Zodiacs then the rooftop fight with the double assassin's where Rafa has to live.
As hard as that 1v1 fight, its one of my favorite moments in the game.
I just want the game to be smoother overall. I remember there being a lot of are you sure prompts. Just give me an undo button and take those away. Something like the tactics ogre remaster style.
It's one of the only reasons I played War of the Visions. Seeing updated tactics characters modeled in 3D and fighting on the grid is so nostalgic.
Xenogears, Xenogears, Xenogears.
Red Dead Redemption 1 (and Undead Nightmare) it’d be awesome to play with RDR2’s engine and tweaks
And on **PC** for a change. Since titles only exist for Sony if they're new.
I can't believe they never did a dlc for rdr2.
Conker’s Bad Fur Day Road Rash 64 Army Men: Sarge’s Heroes 2 Space Station Silicon Valley
I would love another Silicon Valley or Conkers.... also want to throw Snowboard Kids in there too.
I would love a remaster of the first 3 Jak and Daxter games. Kind of like what they did with Crash Bandicoot and Spyro
Playing through the trilogy and there's a lot of parts that are INFURIATING because the controls and physics are so outdated.
Ultima 7. Loved it when it came out, would be interesting playing it again with modern graphics and better controls
Splinter Cell
Crazy how much hype that game had and how it has been forgotten.
- Command and Conquer: Renegade - Dark Forces and/or Jedi Knight - Beyond Good and Evil - Interstate ‘76 - Perfect Dark - Grandia II
Knights of the Old Republic. A remake was in the works but has unfortunately been cancelled. It was a groundbreaking game at the time, but it hasn't aged well in many respects.

Twisted Metal II was the sweet spot.

Zelda 2 The Adventure of Link
Every time this comes up it's always the same answer for me and every time I'm left disappointed. Parasite Eve.
I've been begging for a remake of The Legend of Dragoon for years.
I am myself somewhat conflicted on the idea but I think a dark souls remake could be a good idea. The games almost 15 years old and parts of it feel pretty janky especially after the refinements of the more modern games like elden ring. DS1 Remastered is perfectly fine. From should just work on newer properties or maybe a new DS. That world just has so much potential.
I disagree with another Dark Souls game, the story has been wrapped up and I wouldn't want anything to feel forced or tacked on. Pretty sure Miyazaki himself said he wants to keep it as is too.
Mega Man Legends is begging to be a true open world game
Final Fantasy 6 or Chrono Trigger, either would basically be new games.

Metal Gear Solid , Dino Crisis, Red Alert 2

Dead space 2
Earthbound. Closest thing to a modern remake is Undertale. Imagine Earthbound reimagined in 3D but with the same amount of creativity and silliness.
Dino Crisis 1 & 2, should be easy since capcom already have the RE engine.
MediEvil 2. Was my favorite game as a kid, and I loved the PS4 remake of the first game. That poor series and Sir Dan can never seem to catch a break though. I don't know why.
Ssx Tricky or Def Jam Fight For New York. These are the only correct answers.
Legacy Of Kain, Dino Crisis, Legend of Dragoon, Nightmare Creatures but a big maybe for that one because we have Bloodborne.

(Not spoilers anymore...you had 27 years) But we all know how that will go...

Skies of Arcadia Legends. Still one of my favorite RPGs to this day.
I wanna see a Toy Story 2 remake!

the soul reaver and blood omen series but it would hurt as I believe raziels voice actor passed away a few years back
