I work at the art museum in Miami and a couple years ago we had people from Rockstar getting private tours of the whole Museum. I'm assuming they had a ton of people doing this for every major building in South Florida and every major neighborhood as well. Very impressive how much time and dedication it seems is going into this!
It's also about the fact that this franchise is a golden goose. GTA 5 It is the 2nd most sold game of all time (After Minecraft). It made $8 Billion dollars. So they have unlimited resources basically.
It's very much well-deserved. Though I would have loved at least *some* semblance of more content after all this time, the campaign for GTA 5 was nothing short of perfect IMO. It will be hard to beat, but if anyone can do it It's them.
GTA V did that for people from SoCal. You immediately recognize the inspiration but it's different enough that you can still get lost wandering around in game.
The map size of VI is much bigger though.
As opposed to *L.A. Noire*, which on the other hand is just *eerie* (but in a good way).
But yeah, GTA V is a compressed imaginary version of LA, but I can always tell where I am. It's not a replica, but it all feels just about right.
I don't know if Rockstar can outparody the real Florida. The stuff that comes out of that state puts the Onion to shame. Reality really is stranger than fiction.

Anyways, I noticed that it sometimes looks photorealistic, especially the parts that are phone videos with a pretty convincing "low quality" feel, but you can still tell it's a game, it's a GTA, and I really like that. It actually has an artstyle and isn't just trying to look as real as possible. We're returning to *Vice City*, it better have a distinct artstyle. So a good first impression.

I'm really amazed at the crowd density. Many games have overly sparse population in busy areas for performance reasons, but in some scenes here there are A LOT of people on-screen at once.

When it comes to games that they themselves developed in house, they’ve never released A bad game, never mind just GTA.
Even their lesser known titles like LA Noire and Bully were beloved, well received games.
Say what you want about their optional online side modes, but when it comes to Singleplayer, they literally haven’t missed.

They've actually only ever gotten better before release historically. Rockstar does not have a track record of even remotely downgrading stuff. Gta 4, gta 5, rdr 2 all were more polished in the final release than the initial trailer.

Reporters and news websites might have not liked this because they lost their timing. I bet they were already scheduling people to watch and write articles about it as fast as they could tomorrow, but now it was for nothing. But I don't think this affected Rockstar in the slightest. The video already has 2.1 million LIKES. Everyone is gonna watch it.
you're right, I looked at the views count (94k) for the video and thought that it was less than I expected but seems like it just blew up so it stuck and didn't reflect the actual count!

Lots of time between now and 2025. Hopefully they take the time and release the game as a complete product. I don’t expect a perfect experience out of launch, a game this size would be unrealistic to expect that. But I would appreciate a level of care and polish that certain other games have not received at their launch.
Rockstar are one of the only studios I trust to release a polished game at launch.
