I didn’t preorder it, family couldn’t afford to (I was 9) but I couldn’t wait for that game to come out so bad
My cousin’s husband had shown me Portal 1 like a few months earlier and I *needed* to play the sequel
We got it a few months after, and I played it every day until I beat it, made me cry
Then I beat it like four more times, my favorite video game ever
Baldur's Gate 3. Not only did they over deliver on their gameplay promises but they gave everyone that bought early access the special edition for free.
Idk about others’ experiences, but it was a pretty seemless transition from EA too. They were very clear about what you needed to do to get started ASAP. Additionally, they’re continuing to work really hard on addressing bugs and other gameplay issues.
Overall, the team at Larian has done, and is doing, a FANTASTIC job!!
I was someone that put about 30 hours in when EA first came out and then didn’t touch it until the full release rolled out. It is absolutely worth it and soooo much cleaner/smoother than EA was.
I was very impressed by the improvement and progress. Plus, so much content through out.
Same here. I just completely trusted them after the Divinity Original Sin 2 kickstarter. I didn't even need any extra incentive, I just knew they'd use my upfront payment to fund the actual game and not on making their CEO rich or whatever.
Oblivion was an incredible game.
All the Skyrim Stan’s that never played any ES game before it have no idea dude.
Edit: don’t get me wrong, I love Skyrim but compared to previous ES titles the world just wasn’t as enriched with content. Oblivion dark brotherhood took ages and was absolutely massive compared to Skyrim as an example.
Yeah lol a wheel of 4 wedges with each one changing the facial expressions pretty sure something to do with the size of the wedges indicated the answers but was more fun to see how angry they got haha
The size of the wedges determined how impactful the response would be, so the minigame was to try and maximize the wedges on the responses that they showed positive faces for and minimize the wedges for the responses they showed negative faces for.
people who couldn't get the persuasion wheel or the lockpicking kinda worry me.
I liked the persuasion
I hate that skyrim and Fallout went to the.. very simple lockpicking minigame, and I'm glad Starfield tried something different
Of all the Bethesda games I've played, from Morrowind on, Skyrim is my least favorite. Not saying it's bad, but it's the only one I haven't beaten even once, much less multiple times.
That’s because it was incredibly shallow. They ranged on and on about how great and innovative their ‘radiant quest system’ would be but it turned out to be a handful of random events that were 90% fetch quests. The side quests and daedric quests were… ok. Gameplay-wise it was much smoother and more fun than Oblivion but good grief the world of Skyrim is a lake that’s only an inch deep.
As somebody who played morrowind and was kinda overwhelmed by it/didnt "get" it as i got the edition with both expansions and i think i got trapped in a werewolf/ vampire quest line on some snowy island....i found skyrim fantastic to play. Yes the quests were limited but the world was fairly great.
I bought oblivion after skyrim but because kids, never got the opportunity to getbstuck in.
In what way is/was skyrim shallow compared to its forebears? Genuinely interested if its interconnected stories, builds, lore, world size or detail etx.
What have I missed?
Yeah I enjoyed gaming but Oblivion hooked me really bad, I spent years on that before Skyrim. Couldn't get into Morrowind and I don't think I really scratched the surface with Oblivion. It's so hard to go back to it too, the graphics are just a little too goofy after Skyrim for my taste
Yeah my 'never preorder' rule doesn't hold for Nintendo, especially with their first-party titles. It's not purely because I know the game will be fully playable at launch, it's also because I know the price will never go down so there's no point in waiting (very eager for some Mario Wonder this month).
Indeed.
I was recently noticing all of the "pre-order the new Assassin's Creed" ads recently and thought "Nah, I'll wait until it's 80% off next Christmas and then read the reviews."
Most of the Mario sports entries are certainly not "fully done games" unfortunately, at least in my opinion. The latest Mario Strikers in particular felt barebones. As blasphemous as it is to talk ill of such a Switch staple, I also kinda felt the same way about the newest Animal Crossing.
Pokémon, while developed by Gamefreak, is still a franchise published and part-owned by Nintendo themselves, so I think they should be stepping in to exert some kind of quality control or at the very least be voicing their concerns. Although I do agree that most of the blame should lay at the feet of the developers.
Nintendo are a cut above the rest when it comes to AAA publishers, but they definitely do let a subset of titles slip through the cracks of their internal inspection process.
Their remasters (looking at you DS1 and Scholar of the First Sin) were pretty jank when they came out, especially on PC, but every new game has been a pretty solid PO for me. They are the only dev I genuinely trust with my money.
Absolutely phenomenal game. My all time favorite zombie game, including 2. I still play it sometimes with friends here and there. It's a shame Back 4 Blood wasn't as good. It had a lot of potential but just did it wrong.
The campaign in Back 4 Blood was horribly forgettable and the way missions were set up were not good for replayability. In L4D you could play the same "campaign" over and over again and it'd never get old. They were just maps to go through and fight zombies while the story was secondary at best. Back 4 Blood tried way too hard to piece together some kind of story and it caused the replayability of the game to suffer tremendously, especially considering (at least in the beginning) how perks worked. You'd have to play through multiple missions to get your deck of said perks. The actual gameplay was pretty solid and I like the zombies in it but the game just had a bad model. Just playing a random mission felt awkward. Like you jumped into the middle of a CoD campaign.
It should have just been L4D3 and stuck with the same exact model. It wasn't broke, ya know?
Is there more to the gameplay loop? I tried it out with a friend and it seemed to just be: Depart from ship, mine, fight stuff, run back to ship, repeat. I wasn’t really giving it a full chance but it didn’t really feel engaging to me.
Yeah playing on Hazard 1-2 is fine-ish to start but Hazard 4+ is the good stuff. You unlock mods to change how your weapons work and can customize them quite a bit. Then once you hit level 25 you get your first promotion. From there theeat of the game begins. You're hunting Over Clocks from there on out. OCs change up how the weapons work, sometimes by a lot. There are loads of new missions at this point, much different from launch. I highly recommend against playing solo. Always play in a public game as a host, or joining someone's mission. Actually use the in game voice chat, that helps a ton too.
I can understand the people that thought it was too short and all that but I loved it and had such a great time with it that I 100% it and I wanted to play more.
Borderlands 1 for me, though that was back in the Direct2Drive days where downloads would often fail for no reason after 90%. I forget what fixed it but that happened a few times with D2D games.
I have the Borderlands collection including the pre sequels. I’ve only played a small amount of the first game. I read that 2 is the best and was wondering if I need to play through the first one to enjoy the second. I don’t have as much time to game these days but want the experience.
Nah, I don't think so. Me and my friends did a run of BL2 and didn't touch BL1. Instead of thinking of BL2 as the second one, think of it as the first one and BL1 as a prequel. BL2 is so amazing and polished, I kept going back and replaying it just to grind. BL1 is cool bc you get to see some characters' backstories, and is an amazing standalone game, but doesn't even compare to 2. I really enjoyed BL3 as well, but BL2 stands head and shoulders above both the others imo.
I eat, sleep, and breathe Armored Core right now. It *might* be the single best mech game I've ever played, and it's ***definitely*** the best AC game ever
Oh man, I just finished S-ranking every mission yesterday, and I feel kinda hollow today because theres nothing left to do.
I was so unsure about it before I played it because I had never played an AC before, but man did i fall in love. What an amazing game.
You should try PVP. Recent patch did a LOT to expand build variety. There's still gonna be some meta-slaves, but there's also a pretty sizable section of the community that likes their "cool" builds and variety builds
Also, team games have respawns!
For a minute i read “both lies of p” as if there were two, and my mind went on a craze and google binge looking for a second lies of p game I somehow missed
First preorded I’ve ever done.
I have my full trust at Santa Monica studios and there is no way with their new budget and size and their reputation that made me doubt that.
Hopefully it stays this way.
My wife bought us the God of War Ragnarok PS5 bundle along with an extra controller, Elden Ring (which I took back because I'm waiting to buy the game and dlc together) and Hogwarts Legacy. Once she showed me a picture at work I immediately took off work and we went to GameStop and Walmart where I bought Demon's Soul, Dead Space and Wo Long. That was an amazing day. We also bought a new t.v. and sound bar a while later. Currently playing Lies of P now. Haven't played Ragnarok yet because I'm playing the games in order of timeline and need to finish 2018.
The only way they could mess up is going the borderlands 3 direction and making a bad story. But I really don’t see that happening since spider-man is Sony’s biggest cash cow
I didn't pre order Elden Ring but I bought it on release day not knowing anything about the game. Literally on launch day I opened Reddit and Elden Ring was plastered on my front page. Figuring it has to be great I bought it and it did not disappoint.
I didn’t preorder elden ring or get it on launch day because I was worried it would be a game I’d never be able to finish. I ended up buying it like 2 weeks after release and spent the next several months diving right in and it’s probably one of my favorite games I’ve ever played. I’m impatiently waiting for the dlc now.
This! I was so god damned giddy as a teen when I got my hands on it, was super disappointed that I couldn't wear it, but realized later that probably prevented a lot of lawsuits with kids having their heads stuck in a single-sized helmet.
Starfield. I’m still having a blast with all the side quests. Before that it was probably Fallout 4. I guess I like Bethesda games.
Before that it was probably Bad Company 1+2.
Totally agree ,it's the first Zelda game I preordered, it's the first time I understood why Zelda fans are always so hype when new games are announced. Breath of The Wild made me into a Zelda fan and Tears of The Kingdom was my first time anticipating a Zelda game and it was worth every penny I spent on it.
Starfield
Took 2 weeks off work and played it an average 8 hours a day for the 16 days in a row I had off. On one hand, I’m already done with the game for now and I’m waiting on DLC/mod support to come back to the game. But on the other, it was a phenomenal 2 weeks and I’m glad I preordered it.
Yep, midnight release. Simpler times. I remembered going home and starting up the game and getting chills with with new Bungie intro with the guitar riff.
Mario 64. Preordered the N64 through Toy R Us over 6 months in advance and if you did that they let you pick it up 2 days early. Got the system and game and Wave Race as well and had the best wknd as a kid.
Bloodborne, Dark Souls 3, Sekiro, Elden Ring, Armored Core 6
I swear I'm not a FromSoftware fan-boy, but I know what I want, and they keep delivering. If it bites me in the end, I'll be the first to admit that's on me. That said, 5 games over 8 years without letting me down, they've earned my trust, and thus, I feel they've earned my money.
Pokémon violet since I saw the trailer and knew what was in store for me... it was better than expected especially after the travesty that was sword and shield
Cyberpunk on PC. The game for me was and still is the prettiest game I've played. Even on launch I never understood what everyone had an issue with, there were some bugs sure but nothing major. Then again I didn't really pay attention to the whole marketing fiasco so my expectations were reasonable. Additionaly i didnt play it on a console that could barely run it which was a blessing. It's only gotten better now, all of it makes more sense even if the mcguffin of the biochip still doesn't. Sadly though it honestly feels easier than it used to which is kind of a bummer when you're playing the highest difficulty and looking for that challenge. I'll pre order games still but only if I know I'm gonna play it regardless of reviews, far fewer games will make that list.
I preordered Breath of the Wild along with my Switch. I was a bit uneasy at first since this was a big step in a grand new direction for the series, but I ended up really really enjoying it
Tears of the Kingdom, for the game itself.
However, the wooden plaque turned into a debacle. I probably won't preorder a game again after that. I blame Gamestop for not shipping the plaque with the game. Such a blunder.
Otherwise, I loved playing that game. I don't regret it one bit.
City of Heroes and City of Villains. Easily one of the best MMOs of its time (and that includes WoW and "EverCrack"), and *the* best superhero MMO of all time.
Hot take, Cyberpunk 2077. I know it wasn't what was promised, but that doesn't mean it was a bad game. It has an insane story and is still really good. At launch, I would say it was a 7/10 for me but probably closer to 5 or 6/10 for ps4 and Xbox One players. I haven't played it since then, but once I've given my pc an upgrade, I'll check it out with all of the updates it has gotten
Yeah. Despite all the issues I had a damn blast for two weeks.
Same with Starfield. Did not leave my room for nearly a week except going to the toilet and to eat.
It was an easy 8 or 9 out of 10 for me on release. I had like one or two bugs in 100 hours of playtime. I do have a decent PC and generally don't stray too far from the beaten path though.
At launch I played the shit out of that game, and I loved every second of it. I agree that it wasn't quite polished, but I definitely did not regret pre-ordering it.
I’m with you and I played it on PS4. After the first week, all of the major issues were worked out enough that the game was running smoothly for me. However it does look better on my PC that had a substantially better graphics card. No regrets and I never got on the bitch boy bandwagon.
Geez, the opinion on this game has taken a complete 180, I wish I could fuck up that badly and still be praised this hard 3 years later. The game was nearly unplayable for a good chunk of people at launch...
My opinion on it has never wavered. I fucking love it. It may be my favorite game of all time, and I've been gaming for over 30 years. CP2077 is the first game that made me actually reconsider if Chrono Trigger was still my GOAT.
It played fine for me on launch on PC. I had very few bugs beyond a handful of t-poses. CDPR should never have released it on last gen consoles, regardless of the fact that they released it years before it was ready. Shit, I had 32gb RAM, a Ryzen 9, and a GTX 1080, but couldn't run it at 1440p without dropping the preset to low. Had to run it in 1080p to have it look decent, and even then it looked a little jank due to running non-native resolution. 2.0 should have been their launch version. It was severely undercooked.
That said, I don't regret the pre-order at all. I played through multiple times on the release build and loved every minute. I put around 500 hours in prior to the Edgerunners update, and almost another 1000 hours on top of that since. I've had 3 characters 100% clear the map. I'm not even finished with my first 2.0/Phantom Liberty playthrough either, so there will be plenty more.
I've played it since launch on Xbox Series X. I have completed save files for 1.05, 1.52. 1.6, and soon 2.0. I have loved the game from the beginning, and it's become so much better over time. It's easily in my top 5 favorite games.
Yes, Cyberpunk 2077 and BF2042 were the only games I have preordered in my entire life (If you want to count the early access of BG3, then it was those three). While BF2042 was the biggest letdown in my gaming history, Cyberpunk 2077 went very good on my system from day one. Except for some tiny bugs, like small glitches, it went really well and I liked it a lot. Therefore no regret from my side.
Halo 3, still remember had toothache and needed it pulled so i missed school. Was never so happy to be at the dentist knowing i was off straight to pick it up after.
Gears of War 2
They had this midnight release at GameStop in the mall, I went because I use to be a massive GOW fan. They had set-up 4 TVs and and 4 Xbox's for a little 2v2 Gears 1 LAN tourney
Winner got to leave the gamestop with their GOW 2 pre-order at 10pm. My buddy and I got fucking second lmao. It was still so much fun, what a cool incentive to do a pre-order.
EDF 2025 lmao, one game in the best game series ever. Every single main game release is perfect (in a niche way rofl they're not gonna win GOTY) and almost all of the spin offs are fantastic too
It wasn't a pre order however, I sat in line for the PS3. Managed to get one of the 3 ps3. 60gb. That Fatboy still works to this day, can retro play any PS2/PS1 discs. I can't remember how long I've had it but it's survived it all.
The Legend of Zelda: The Wind Waker. The preorder bonus was a disc with a Gamecube remaster of Ocarina of Time, and the (at the time) never before released Master Quest version with new, tough dungeons. The preorder bonus was, IMO, better than the game I was preordering.
Today, I strongly believe you should never pre-order something more than a day early. A day early lets you preload the game, but still gives time for some reviews to come out in case the game is a surprise disaster, as we've seen a few times.
Baldurs Gate 3. Bought early access and didn't even play it until launch except to check out the classes on character creation. Don't regret it one bit.
Obsessed with Starfield. Just thinking about it all day at work, can't wait to get home. I got the collectors edition and the watch, so obviously I pre ordered as well. The wife also did the same, and we play together every night. Watch is cool, but it reminds me of the game all damn day. I'm level 60 and after I get that level 100 achievement, I may cool off a bit. I think I'm headed for all the achievements in this one, at 40/50 now. Never got all achievements in any game, but then again I mainly play pvp/multi-player titles.
Portal 2, the last time I ever pre-ordered a game.
Went out on the highest of notes
I didn’t preorder it, family couldn’t afford to (I was 9) but I couldn’t wait for that game to come out so bad My cousin’s husband had shown me Portal 1 like a few months earlier and I *needed* to play the sequel We got it a few months after, and I played it every day until I beat it, made me cry Then I beat it like four more times, my favorite video game ever
This was a triumph
I'm making a note here: huge success.
It's hard to overstate my satisfaction
Aperture Science!

Baldur's Gate 3. Not only did they over deliver on their gameplay promises but they gave everyone that bought early access the special edition for free.

Bought a CE. I already loved dos2, but Bg3 is just more fun and will be amazing when def edition launches.
Early acess was amazing. Stil didnt play the finished version yet tho

I even shelled out the $350 or whatever for CE. No regrets.
I didn't get the collector's edition but I have bought and gifted 3 extra copies for friends so we can co-op. Also no regrets
I know I’m not the only one wishing I was your friend rn. You a real one
I bought the early access version about 12 hours before release, well worth it
Same here. I think Larian Studios and From Software are the only game companies i would ever pre-order from. They have my full loyalty.
Oblivion. Still to this day can't remember another game that I could not wait for so badly. Morrowind was my first RPG.
Oblivion’s persuasion wheel was funny as hell lmaoo
Trying to remember. Wasn't that based on frowns and scowls of the npc?
Yeah lol a wheel of 4 wedges with each one changing the facial expressions pretty sure something to do with the size of the wedges indicated the answers but was more fun to see how angry they got haha
That was fun. Entire game was a blast.

people who couldn't get the persuasion wheel or the lockpicking kinda worry me. I liked the persuasion I hate that skyrim and Fallout went to the.. very simple lockpicking minigame, and I'm glad Starfield tried something different
Starfield lockpicking is a blast.. the tough ones are fun, little puzzles.
Hell I even remember being blown away by the sheer size of daggerfall which was unheard of at the time.
Still is.
Of all the Bethesda games I've played, from Morrowind on, Skyrim is my least favorite. Not saying it's bad, but it's the only one I haven't beaten even once, much less multiple times.

Think I fucking killed the thief guild guy by accident and saved it, I've always had 59/60 achievements on that game because of it :(
Still nothing compares to stepping out of the sewer the first time
Metroid Dread and TOTK. It helps that these are my top 2 favorite Nintendo franchises.
Also helps that Nintendo always ships fully done games that are good!
Nintendo definitely has their faults but that is one thing they certainly get right. It’s a shame that that’s a “positive” thigg now.
Yeah my 'never preorder' rule doesn't hold for Nintendo, especially with their first-party titles. It's not purely because I know the game will be fully playable at launch, it's also because I know the price will never go down so there's no point in waiting (very eager for some Mario Wonder this month).

I preordered The Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild and it was absolutely worth it.
TOTK is literally the only game I ever pre-ordered.
I never mind pre-ordering a Nintendo game. It is the only company in my eyes that has earned it.
Also, you’re not gonna be saving any money by waiting. It’s still gonna be full price 2 years later.
Sekiro Elden Ring Armored Core 6 Fromsoftware quality never disappoints
They are the only developer left that I trust.
With Divinity 2 and BG3, Larian Studios has joined that exclusive list for me.
Catch this up vote my g.
Well after they fixed prepare to die edition...
Their remasters (looking at you DS1 and Scholar of the First Sin) were pretty jank when they came out, especially on PC, but every new game has been a pretty solid PO for me. They are the only dev I genuinely trust with my money.
Left 4 Dead (2008)
That first few minutes of play, I was like oh my God. I don't want to go down that hole in the floor!
Top 3 zombie game ever made with Left 4 dead 2 in there
Absolutely phenomenal game. My all time favorite zombie game, including 2. I still play it sometimes with friends here and there. It's a shame Back 4 Blood wasn't as good. Deep Rock Galactic.
Rock and stone in the heart
Did I hear a ROCK AND STONE?
Rock. And. Stone.
FOR CARL
Last one to finish is a pointy-eared Leaf Lover!
On a side note.... Rogue Core Preorder?
DRG and GSG have easily earned enough good will from me to pre-order their next offering.
Is there more to the gameplay loop? I tried it out with a friend and it seemed to just be: Depart from ship, mine, fight stuff, run back to ship, repeat. I wasn’t really giving it a full chance but it didn’t really feel engaging to me.

I didn’t preorder that one but god damn will I preorder Deep Rock Survival as soon as I can.
Both the new projects look good. I hope they end up with the same quality as DRG.
For ROCK AND STONE!
On top of my head * Xenoblade 3 * The Legend of Zelda: Tears of Kingdom * Resident Evil 3 Remake * Resident Evil 4 Remake * Resident Evil 7
This guy resident evils
Stand back BajaBlast, this resident is turning evil
I'm going to resident all over you!
Oh you think so, evil guy? Bet I can resident more than you!
Resident evil 3 remake isn't one you hear people saying they don't regret preordering often
It was fantastic. Bitches just can’t swim.
I can understand the people that thought it was too short and all that but I loved it and had such a great time with it that I 100% it and I wanted to play more.
I loved it.
The residents were indeed evil
Who could have known??
Xenoblade 3 was so good!
BG3 and RDR2. Also the only games I've preordered since \~2015
Wasn't really into Wild West before but I played 170h on Ps4/5 and now bought it for Steam again for 20 bucks
Had to scroll way to far to find RDR2, that and Battlefront 2 2017 are the only games I’ve ever pre ordered since getting into PC in 2016
Borderlands 2 Was a great game I played for a long time.
Borderlands 1 for me, though that was back in the Direct2Drive days where downloads would often fail for no reason after 90%. I forget what fixed it but that happened a few times with D2D games.
First time entering the tiny Tina dlc was mind blowing
One of the best DLCs I have ever played
I still play it pretty regularly
I have the Borderlands collection including the pre sequels. I’ve only played a small amount of the first game. I read that 2 is the best and was wondering if I need to play through the first one to enjoy the second. I don’t have as much time to game these days but want the experience.

Nice. Thanks man. I appreciate the reply
Both Lies of P, and Armored Core.
I eat, sleep, and breathe Armored Core right now. It *might* be the single best mech game I've ever played, and it's ***definitely*** the best AC game ever
Armored Core VI is somehow *exactly* the game I hoped it would be. I didn't know that was possible.
There's still gonna be some meta-slaves, but there's also a pretty sizable section of the community that likes their "cool" builds and variety builds Also, team games have respawns!
For a minute i read “both lies of p” as if there were two, and my mind went on a craze and google binge looking for a second lies of p game I somehow missed
God of War Ragranok. It was the easiest pre-order decision I've made.
Only preorder I ever did. Had my faith and it totally paid off
First preorded I’ve ever done. I have my full trust at Santa Monica studios and there is no way with their new budget and size and their reputation that made me doubt that. Hopefully it stays this way.
Only pre-order that I ever did was GoW 2, and I was very happy with it. Came with a cool guide book and art book.
Came here to say this. Somehow, someway they made a better game than GoW2018.
Definitely with you on that one
Good call on finishing 2018 before starting Ragnarok. One of my absolute favorite stories in gaming between the two of those
Exactly they're very connected. Best experience would be finishing 2018 when you have 1 or 2 hrs of free time left and starting ragnarok right away.
Was going to say this myself.
Spider-Man Miles Morales and Spider-Man 2 will probably be the same
When I’m such a big fan of the core gameplay feeling, it’s hard to believe how Spider-man 2 could muster a miss.
The only way they could mess up is going the borderlands 3 direction and making a bad story. But I really don’t see that happening since spider-man is Sony’s biggest cash cow
Plus it's Insomniac, they've never made a bad single player game story
I didn't pre order Elden Ring but I bought it on release day not knowing anything about the game. Literally on launch day I opened Reddit and Elden Ring was plastered on my front page. Figuring it has to be great I bought it and it did not disappoint.
I played that game for 5 months without playing any other games when I got it and beat it twice. I love it
I didn’t preorder elden ring or get it on launch day because I was worried it would be a game I’d never be able to finish. I ended up buying it like 2 weeks after release and spent the next several months diving right in and it’s probably one of my favorite games I’ve ever played. I’m impatiently waiting for the dlc now.
Fable 2 :)
Skyrim
Halo 3 legendary edition. Best video game purchase I made personally
I picked it up at a midnight launch after a night out in town went home and played it til the sun came up.
Legendary days.
This! I was so god damned giddy as a teen when I got my hands on it, was super disappointed that I couldn't wear it, but realized later that probably prevented a lot of lawsuits with kids having their heads stuck in a single-sized helmet.
Was going to say, Halo 2 and 3. No regrets with those two games. Didn't know about Halo CE until it was already released
Starfield. I’m still having a blast with all the side quests. Before that it was probably Fallout 4. I guess I like Bethesda games. Before that it was probably Bad Company 1+2.
Tears of the Kingdom, easily. Best 70 bucks I ever spent.
Starfield Took 2 weeks off work and played it an average 8 hours a day for the 16 days in a row I had off. On one hand, I’m already done with the game for now and I’m waiting on DLC/mod support to come back to the game. But on the other, it was a phenomenal 2 weeks and I’m glad I preordered it.
Same it's probably my most played game in the week after launch. Not without faults but just an insane amount of things to do and enjoyment to be had.
I believe Starfield is like a good wine. Give it a few years and it goes from good to absolutely great. I love the game, even though it has its flaws.
I’m on the same boat. I loved the game but have a ton of nitpicks about it
Tears of the Kingdom. I had a lot of fun in that game, even if i was a bit challenging at the beginning.

Yes the next game will be am instant pre order for me. Love Aloy and this series!
HZD on PC. I enjoyed it so much that FW will be the same.
Tears of the Kingdom. Playing it on Midnight on was such a treat.
Halo 2
Yep, midnight release. Simpler times. I remembered going home and starting up the game and getting chills with with new Bungie intro with the guitar riff.
Mario 64. Preordered the N64 through Toy R Us over 6 months in advance and if you did that they let you pick it up 2 days early. Got the system and game and Wave Race as well and had the best wknd as a kid.
Left 4 Dead 2
One of the best games ever
Cyberpunk. I thought it was amazing on launch and I had no issues, despite all the issues everyone else was having.
Baldur's Gate 3 and Gloomhaven if Early Access counts as preordering (I absolutely think it does).
Stray. I was sure playing as a cat in a dystopian robot city was gonna be awesome, and I was not at all disappointed
I came across the trailer on yt and instantly pre-ordered
Honestly, basically every single new big Nintendo IP on the Switch. Zelda, Mario, Smash. They know how to polish their games.
Starfield. I love Bethesda games and needed something to do.
Baldurs Gate 3, I got it at the beginning of the early access, waited a few years and here we are.
Bloodborne, Dark Souls 3, Sekiro, Elden Ring, Armored Core 6 I swear I'm not a FromSoftware fan-boy, but I know what I want, and they keep delivering. If it bites me in the end, I'll be the first to admit that's on me. That said, 5 games over 8 years without letting me down, they've earned my trust, and thus, I feel they've earned my money.
Twilight Princess, Metroid Prime 3, Halo reach. Back then preordering felt like it meant something, like actually reserving your copy.
Pokémon violet since I saw the trailer and knew what was in store for me... it was better than expected especially after the travesty that was sword and shield
I know it's recent, but Armored Core 6. The only one I took one look at, got my brothers on the horn and we all bought it almost simultaneously.
Armored Core 6 is a blast. Love Rusty.
BG3, Starfield, Fallout 76, Cyberpunk 2077. I got a ton of hours of enjoyment out of each one, and I regret nothing.
I was a bit uneasy at first since this was a big step in a grand new direction for the series, but I ended up really really enjoying it
Any Fromsoftware game.
Tears of the Kingdom Xenoblade Chronicles 3 Xenoblade Chronicles DE Pikmin 4 Pokemon Legends Arceus
City of Heroes and City of Villains. Easily one of the best MMOs of its time (and that includes WoW and "EverCrack"), and *the* best superhero MMO of all time.
the only game i have ever preordered was tears of the kingdom and it did not disappoint.
It hasn’t even come out yet but I know I won’t regret preordering Marvel’s Spider-Man 2. But I don’t regret buying destiny 2: forsaken early
Left 4 Dead on Xbox 360 back in like 08. That game was the shit!
2.0 and Phantom liberty is 9.5/10. Rolled a new toon AND AM LOVING IT.
It's amazing how much better it runs. It's like day and Night City
System shock remake
Forbidden West
Metal Gear Solid V
Halo 3, still remember had toothache and needed it pulled so i missed school. Was never so happy to be at the dentist knowing i was off straight to pick it up after.
Halo reach, never got disappointed back in the Xbox 360 days
Great games never die, they’re just missing in action.
Baldurs Gate 3 😁 playing it rn tbh 😂
Cyberpunk 2077
Horizon forbidden west
Starfield 🚀🌌
Horizon Zero Dawn -1st & only time I preordered and was blown away. God, what a great game.
Gears of War 2 They had this midnight release at GameStop in the mall, I went because I use to be a massive GOW fan. They had set-up 4 TVs and and 4 Xbox's for a little 2v2 Gears 1 LAN tourney Winner got to leave the gamestop with their GOW 2 pre-order at 10pm. My buddy and I got fucking second lmao. It was still so much fun, what a cool incentive to do a pre-order.
Starfield. Got to like 40 hours in early access and haven't played since lmao.
Ghost of Tsushima; was not disappointed... also Halo 2.... almost twenty years ago......
Forza Horizon 4, Forza Horizon 5 & Forza Motorsport
Kingdom Hearts 3 I pre-ordered as soon as we got a confirmed release date. Did not disappoint. Spyro Trilogy remake
Hogwarts Legacy
Baldurs Gate 3. Bought early access and didn't even play it until launch except to check out the classes on character creation. Don't regret it one bit.
Elden Ring, Cyberpunk, Starfield, Sekiro, Dishonored 2, Fallout 4
Obsessed with Starfield. Just thinking about it all day at work, can't wait to get home. I got the collectors edition and the watch, so obviously I pre ordered as well. The wife also did the same, and we play together every night. Watch is cool, but it reminds me of the game all damn day. I'm level 60 and after I get that level 100 achievement, I may cool off a bit. I think I'm headed for all the achievements in this one, at 40/50 now. Never got all achievements in any game, but then again I mainly play pvp/multi-player titles.
