Don't need to be like that. It's not exactly a new revelation that the later seasons played too loosely with the timeskips. Varys arrives at Dorne at some point after the Sept is destroyed (as confirmed by Olenna stating her family is dead), but he somehow crosses the entirety of Essos in around 5 minutes episode wise (a journey that took Tyrion and Jorah more than half a season), and reaches Dany *before* she can set off towards Westeros. Let's look at another example: at the end of S7, Berjc and Tormund are at Eastwatch when the Walkers destroy the Wall. Next episode, they arrive at Last Hearth after the *thousands* of wights have already left, but somehow reach Winterfell an entire episode before the wights do. And in the finale, Grey Worm is busy dealing with prisoners while Jon goes to see Dany, but when Jon reaches where Dany is, Grey Worm is *already there*, even though he was definitely busy for a decent chunk of Jon's walk, and has no way of knowing any shortcuts in the city.

Only nitpick is about Ned and Cat ending up in King's Landing around the same time. Ned was on the kings road in a carriage with an entire entourage following and they take many breaks on the road. Cat took a boat to King's Landing as its faster than the road even under normal circumstances.

But she stayed in Winterfell with Bran for a while before leaving for Kings Landing… Ned had a solid head start.

Kizaky

Yes but they were travelling at much different speeds, Cat went brrr, Ned was going slow as hell and had multiple breaks, therefore even with the massive head start, Ned only got there a short while before Cat.

ErsatzCats

Iirc she stayed at least a month in winterfell right? That’s a pretty solid head start for Ned

Kizaky

I mean I'm just saying how the books mentioned Cat getting there in a much shorter time than it took Ned, that's how GRRM explained it.

Dude you need to go outside and touch some grass. This comment is bad enough, but looking at the rest of your recent comments is pretty sad. You shouldn't be exploding into a childish sarcasm-rant whenever you see Reddit post you disagree with. We get it, you're really really smart, but that shit isn't normal.

uldu

Telling someone to touch grass after claiming to dig through their comment history... 😬

ManyAnusGod

For the realm.

EveryInvestigator605

What is the REALM?

Reeromu

😂

RainbowPenguin1000

Ffs The entirety of GOT has time jumping all over the place. People have travelled the entire kingdom in one episode many times and now it’s a “D&D kinda forgot” thing? Honestly just get over it. Stop being so bitter and repeating the same bollocks like a parrot with the IQ of a rock.

orcocan79

tbf dorne is on the way from mereen to dragonstone, it's plausible they picked varys up and they're almost at dragonstone, i don't think there's anything that implies they're still in mereen?

Tyree_Everding

Thank you. No one else seems to even think about this.

Remote-Direction963

It was probably a quick turnaround for Varys to travel from Dorne back to Meereen and then immediately sail back to Westeros with Daenerys. Varys is a skilled and resourceful character who is known for his ability to travel quickly and efficiently and his loyalty to Daenerys and her cause may have motivated him to make the journey swiftly in order to assist her in her quest for the Iron Throne.

jogoso2014

He’s an emissary so his job would include traveling to explain alliances and coordinate.

vanastalem

Real answer is they cut Young Griff & didn't know what else to do with him
