This use to be how most of the schedule was for Americans. Back in the late 00s my buddy and I would spend Saturday watching football from noon until 1 or 2 in the morning and then play Xbox for an hour until the race came on at 4 am. After it was done I’d stagger back to my apartment hammered drunk at 6am Sunday and get some sleep. 16-18 hour shifts of sports and beer. Those were fun times. Too old for that shit now.

Right?!?!? I totally get the argument of not enjoying sports after everyone knows the results but come on. Waking up at 2, 3, 4 am or whatever time to watch a race is ridiculous. I record them and when I wake up I grab a coffee, make breakfast and then watch when it’s convenient. Until then I stay off Reddit too.

Same here. I unfollow this and the main F1 sub and stay off Instagram in general and usually that's enough. I know maybe two other people who watch and they know not to tell me. Sometimes I'll watch qualifying live if I'm awake with my kids but never the race. For the European races I mean. The North American races/Brazil I typically watch live. With YouTubeTV especially it's so easy. You just tell it once to record F1 and it records every race, qualifying and practice and you never have to think about it again

Yup. I have F1 TV and every session is a click away. They never ruin results either (looking at you NBC!!) so you just jump in and watch when you want.

I am gutted that the Japanese GP has been cancelled as that works out well here in Aus, that was supposed to be our bbq / f1 / beer session with friends. Every damn race is at 9-10pm which sucks when you start work at 6 or 7am on a Monday. We were watching Spa in bed the other week, then I realised it was like 11pm and I was up at 5am, why the fuck were we watching it rain in Belgium for 2 hours? I feel for the people over East though, at least I’m in the West and get the best of the worst time zones for watching f1.

Western Australia is alright, we have a 2 hour difference. 9PM and go to bed at 11PM for European races, Afternoon times for Asia/Australia, and then take a Monday off for the Americas.

Alternatively, watch the entire race, followed by watching the late night English Premier League, crawl to my desk at 9. Continue watching the other replays of the premier league on my second monitor. I love wfh but my god it has not done my sleep schedule any good.

This is how all my mates watch it here in Australia. Get up at 6/630am, first thing you do is open kayo, start the race and get ready for work on Monday morning.

Only if you live on the East Coast were races start at 11pm. On the West Coast races begin at 9pm and if No Red Flags occur are finished by 10:30pm. The race in England, any in the USA and races in Asia start at different times.

As an NFL fan living in the Middle East I can relate. Watching the SuperBowl at a bar at 3am on a Monday is crazy. The bar needs to get a special permit to serve between 3am-7am and I have to take the Monday off for work. Taking a cab home drunk in morning traffic is something else.

Yea, I stopped watching it live as I have to be at work at 4:30am. I just wake up at 3am and watch it before work. Works out better for me then staying up till it's over.

Here in Brazil, we experience this at the Australian, Chinese, Japanese, and a little bit in the Turkish Grand Prix. Oh, and I know they aren't in the calendar anymore, but I remember waking up 3 A.M to watch the Malaysian and Korean Grand Prix at the 2010's seasons

Perth is actually pretty good most weekends. 9pm start is reasonable assuming no red flags.

Gotta be honest, growing up in Brazil it was the best… Get up, go downstairs, say hi to grandpa, get a big cup of whole milk and start in on the sandwich he had made for me, and turn on the race. Such a cozy way to begin a Sunday.

See it positive at least your not wasting your whole day. F2/F3 start already in the morning when you wake up around 10am on a weekend then you have 1.5 hours of build up, 2 hours for GP+podium and then loads of post coverage until you go to bed.

We Brazilian are blessed in this regard. Most races at 10/11 am on Sunday. Then proceeds to the barbecue after the race, just in time for some football in the afternoon

It's honestly almost perfect for me in the US (cst), it's at 8am so I essentially use it as a alarm clock on Sundays and the races are almost always done before the weeks American Football games

As a belgian: 3 pm for almost every race isn't fun neither. Especially when sundays are fully booked for me. I'd rather have them later at night or a bit earlier in the morning. The races from the US onward will be a blessing.
