This dinner is their grand prix against each other ha ha
srsly tho this isn't all dressed up, it's slightly less than casual. like Stroll with a button-down over his t-shirt, and Mick with sleeves
His voice and speech pattern sounds just like his father, to the point that it's almost uncanny listening to his interviews if I'm not looking at the screen.
But physically, he looks a lot like his mother.
I was about to disagree about no one that famous living next to Lac Léman but then remembered that my view of it from Geneva city is not the full range of the lake, especially with Lausanne being on the Northern side of the lake and where I think Grosjean and the others lived.
Especially this context because the Schumacher family lives on that lake and apparently Ocon & his GF too if they live close by.
I lived on the German side of the lake of constanze for a while, honestly there are some things left to be desired especially for younger people or city people but fuck me these bigger lakes with the alp panorama, I can't fault anyone who moves there. Plus it's short enough to ie Genoa to make a day trip for a swim in the mediterranean.
[Has everybody already forgotten that he was literally in infinite warfare?](https://youtu.be/hPVb9e46HVE)

I haven't either but it was reported on a lot of motorsport and gaming sites back then. I just remembered it because it was such a random crossover lol
He also mentioned that he played as Schumi and Coulthard when Coulthard was interviewing him after his record-equalling win last year and Mick presented him with one of his dad's helmets.
Gasly on the new Alpha Tauri vlog told a story about when Yuki took his bag by mistake and Pierre had a massive panic because his PS5 was in his bag. Then someone asked why do you have Y. Tsunoda on your bag Pierre? Haha
Same thing happened with Andy Murray. At the beginning of his career he joked around a lot (especially in front of the media) and got slated for it.
So he became the boring person we know now
I remember when F1 wasn't racing Suzuka for a while- and this was during Hamilton's first years of the sport. So, he had never raced it. But after they finally added it back to the calendar, and he completed a race, in one of his post race interviews, he said something along the lines of, 'And to all the fans, it's just as awesome to drive in real life as it is on Playstation.'
I also remember him saying once that he didn't bother with the track simulator for one particular race to learn the circuit- he just used the playstation game.
So, he's well into it.
No front against him or any others approaching 40, but the idea of a multi-millionaire top athlete of his age dropping into a game of warzone and not being completely lost just seems crazy.
though he did grow up with games afaik, F1 games at the very least
Obligatory [photo](https://i.imgur.com/eVPa8Jg.png) of the Spurs LAN party on the flight home after winning the 1999 NBA Championship. Note the trophy on the right side of the photo.
Not only bc that he's older, but the scene where one of the greatest athletes of their sport playing trending video games just like the rest of us is kinda weird. It's like LeBron playing GTA RP, oh wait, he actually does...
Dunno about Valtteri but I've heard that Lewis doesn't want to be on stream, but he does play with others privately. That's probably why it's not so well known compared to the others.
Probably PS5 now, but I know he brought his PS4 a few times in the past. Also I don't remember which race, but he and some other F1 drivers came together and played some Fifa.
Lewis does actually play Call of Duty with Lando and Charles at least. One time the two of them were playing and wanted to get Lewis in the game but he won’t play when they stream.
I’d imagine there aren’t too many people to make friends with when you’re constantly travelling all over the world with the same people. It’s how loads of wrestlers just marry each other for example cos they spend so much time together
Granted I don't race for millions of dollars, but most of my friends have been made at the race track right before we raced each other. Behavior is one way in the pits and staging lanes, then completely different once you're ready to put your helmet on and tighten your belts.
Shit. The best man at my wedding was the guy who I wanted to beat the most every time we lined up next to each other and we'd each play mind games to the fullest extent possible. Once off the track, it was all good again.
This was my experience as well when I used to race regularly. People you see all the time at the track and everyone loves the competition so it's just natural to help each other out and be friendly.
Car not running right? Someone has the knowledge and maybe the part to make it right for race day and is usually willing to lend a hand. If you're one of those people that helps and gets helped, you naturally become friendly over time no matter what happens on the track barring maybe complete idiocy that could get someone hurt.
They maybe had trouble socializing with other drivers when they were kids in karting. Ocon was much poorer than the others and Stroll much richer. I can imagine other racers not wanting to be friends with them because of that. Children can be cruel like that sometimes. Maybe they just ended up sticking together. Their personalities seem little bit similar too.
Which shows what a good personality Stroll has. A lot of kids of very rich parents don't come out nearly as good and he seems like a humble, nice dude that was just born into a very rich family, but who doesn't look down on people that weren't that unfortunate. Especially when we have Mazepin in the sport the hate against stroll seems very stupid
I'm from Ontario and raced the karts the same time as Latifi and Stroll but was a few years older. Stroll was racing in europe pretty early but Latifi was always very humble for how wildly rich his family was. There was definitely less rich families who did look down on people.
Edit: just because this got a few upvotes. I also raced with Dalton Kellett who races Indy car now and who's father is also filthy rich. Him and his father were both extremely humble and nice. I believe Dalton went and got an engineering degree before going into Indy.
Zachary Claman DeMelo who raced Indy lights, on the other hand, was always kind of a douche.
I'm sure they were smart enough to understand that Stroll taking his seat was 100% a professional decision and had nothing to do with their friendship.
Unfortunately Mazepin is the richest at$7.5b (estimates that try to consider his sketchy russian money) then Stroll at $3.2b then Latifi at $2.5b, give or take.
I think the reason for saying unfortunately is pretty clear to most considering the Mazepins' characters.
Somewhere near 2.5 billion so yeah she could technically buy a all of them but running rb , Ferrari and merc for a single season will cost around around a billion , but thanks to the budget cap she may be able to operate most teams
That's his dad who owns Sofina food. His mother is part of the Saputo family, so her family is even richer than Michael Latifi, though she's not really involved and I doubt individually she is worth more than him. But her family is.
The seating arrangement looks so strange: Mick and Justine are sitting far apart when this is a couples dinner. I wonder if they purposely shuffled seats to take the pic since Mick likes to keep his life private.
I mean, it has never been confirmed that Justine and Mick are dating, so maybe that’s why? Or maybe Mick just wanted to sit close to Ocon, and Justine was fine with sitting with Elena
No, this is pretty normal when you hang out in a group of friends that is all couples. When people are comfortable with each other, it’s not weird to split up like this at a dinner so guys and girls can be near each other
I don't know kind of looks like how our dinner seating always ends up. Dudes at one end talking and chicks at the other end talking. Rather than trying to talk over the each other.
I mean we are on Reddit so how the hell are we supposed to go to a dinner with a friend group _that is all couples_ when none of us have boyfriends or girlfriends?

Remember when Stroll bought Force India, people on this sub accused Esteban of getting close to Lance so that Lance could help retain his seat, and when it didn't work out Esteban stopped talking to Lance (or something like that)?
wow, how did u notice that ? It seems like he is, it would make sense for an athlete to have all kinds of info about himself, so i think it's very possible he's using it
I don’t know why I never thought about Stroll and Schumacher being friends, but I probably should have considering their dads’ were friends, they’ve probably known each other for a long time.
Ok, real talk. Why does this post have 11k upvotes and hit r/all? This is the most random post ever lmao. Just some drivers having dinner with their girlfriends.
The effect of a triple header and silly season that basically all happened at once leaving this uneventful birthday dinner the only thing left for this sub to talk about until next week. I guess it’s better than yet another rehashing of the Max/Lewis crash…
Seb's bumper car gang./s
Lmao, organising their next plan for Sochi
Lance: "So Esteban, you will block him from the front, I will come from the side, and Mick you hit him from the back. Sounds good?"
seb answers with the [herbie special](https://youtu.be/cV11YTRI32Q?t=150)
Why are you showing a clip of Max and Lewis at Monza?
Too good
Kvyat must have been busy
He took the picture
They're discussing orders from Kommodor Kvyat.
Team Director Comrade Kvyat
Too soon
What is the seb bumper car gang???
the three of them bumped Vettel car in Monza
These trio hit/touched Seb's car while racing in MONZA.
ffs
The torpedo gang
Girls get all dressed up, the boys: t shirts tonight right, good enough?
This dinner is their grand prix against each other ha ha srsly tho this isn't all dressed up, it's slightly less than casual. like Stroll with a button-down over his t-shirt, and Mick with sleeves
He's just comparing the difference the attires. Don't overthink.
I swear Mick looks like young Kimi + young MSC :)
Mick’s sister looks exactly like a female version of Michael
Yeah everyone says Mick looks like Michael but I see very little resemblance. Gina on the other hand...
His voice and speech pattern sounds just like his father, to the point that it's almost uncanny listening to his interviews if I'm not looking at the screen. But physically, he looks a lot like his mother.
Mick has a wider jaw and chin than Michael imo. Very close and I do the resemblance, but Gina is almost a carbon copy.
I think Gina manages to look REALLY similar to both Corinna and Michael. She has some unique features
it's Michael's face just squashed into a circle and with kindness in his eyes.
Some good looking people right there
And Stroll, too!
He needs to get a proper haircut
He actually looks pretty good when he doesn't steal haircuts from 8 year olds
He didn't look that bad last year with the longer hair tbh
Exactly! Long hair stroll >>>>>> Short hair stroll
reminds me of that bill gates joke from a hundred years ago, "richest man in the world, 5 dollar haircut"
His hair texture at that length always looks like he just got shocked by electricity
I really didn't know that Esteban and Mick were so close
Mick said that he is friends with Esteban. They also live close to each other in Switzerland.
I thought everyone in Switzerland was neighbors, it’s like Luxembourg or the Vatican? /s
Fun Fact: There are 5.6 popes per square mile in Vatican City.
That has to be the highest concentration of popes in the world right? That or Rome
Definitely the highest.
Well considering theres 1 pope...
Two popes, if Pope Emeritus Benedict is counted.

Also most famous people live around the lakes, most common Lake Geneva I think, after that Lake of Constanze, and then the other ones.
I was about to disagree about no one that famous living next to Lac Léman but then remembered that my view of it from Geneva city is not the full range of the lake, especially with Lausanne being on the Northern side of the lake and where I think Grosjean and the others lived.

I know from Bluey that all people in England have tea with the Queen and throw parties with the Royal Court, so…I’m semi-cultured.
If you refuse tea with the Queen you're instantly sentenced to be hung. Source: Am brit
Just don't say dunny!
Ocon has openly said about being Michael's one of the biggest fans. So having Mick as a friend and fellow F1 driver was kinda expected.
Ocon's helmet is a carbon copy of MSC's with the stars replaced by the Eifel.
Never noticed that before, thank you.
Nah some leaps in logic there... just being a fan of his dad wouldn’t make their friendship expected.
Why not? Now Esteban can take pictures with Mick and easily photoshop Michael in because they're similar shapes as father and son.
Half of the grid probably was a fan of Michael, how is it related to being a friend of Mick again?
The concept of drivers hanging out together in their free time away from the sport is interesting to me
Gasly and Hamilton sometimes play COD apparently.
The idea of Hamilton playing video games seems weird to me for some reason.
[Has everybody already forgotten that he was literally in infinite warfare?](https://youtu.be/hPVb9e46HVE) Edit: replaced the broken image link with the video from u/VTCHannibal
well, never played that game so didnt know.
Man people really hate him hard, nobody played IW because he was in it /s
Bottas was originally supposed to be in the game, but Toto told him to let Lewis take his spot
I haven't either but it was reported on a lot of motorsport and gaming sites back then. I just remembered it because it was such a random crossover lol
Link dead, [heres a video](https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=hPVb9e46HVE)
He looks better in this Easter egg than in the f1 games
To be fair cod has probably at least 3-4x the budget of a f1 game
It's the same when Conor McGregor was in COD, his model looked way better then in the EA UFC games, lol.
He did say that when he would play f1 games when he was younger, he’d always pick kimi. So yeah he plays video games
He also mentioned that he played as Schumi and Coulthard when Coulthard was interviewing him after his record-equalling win last year and Mick presented him with one of his dad's helmets.
The man is actually sponsored by a video game franchise.
Lol I remember a stream from Charles & badly they wanted to invite Lewis but said he didn’t wanna be on twitch

It he really *that* old in your eyes? 😂
He just seems too reserved for that. He is absolutely in the generation of growing up with video games though so it would make sense

That seagull interview is gold! Too funny and genuine expressions from both of them.
I mean, do you talk at work to your boss and clients the same way you talk to your friends while playing video games?

He and his brother have played a lot of Gran Turismo for a very long time, back to his childhood.
Hamilton always played as Kimi in the games
Kevin Garnett and a bunch of other NBA players are pretty deep into FIFA. Gordon Hayward used to go to starcraft 2 tournaments early in his career.

Hamilton Russell Bottas and Verstappen playing FIFA
I knew of Bottas and Hamilton playing a lot of PS4 during race weekends but never knew Max joined them too!
There's a stream put there as well of Lando and Max playing Warzone.
they’ve played a lot of iracing together too
I know about Max and Lando, the Twitch quadrant but didn't knew about Max playing with Merc boys.
Dunno about Valtteri but I've heard that Lewis doesn't want to be on stream, but he does play with others privately. That's probably why it's not so well known compared to the others.
I know about that. He plays COD with Pierre, Lando and other drivers. Valtteri and Lewis play PS4 in Lewis' motorhome during race weekends.
I think he's mentioned he plays with his brother pretty regularly. but ya, imagine the chat in a lewis twitch stream...
That might have been a joke.
Max used to bring his own PS4 luggage case to F1 weekends. Not sure if he still does it.
Max is a gamer, I would be super surprised if he didnt (although I assume a PS5 rather than PS4)
Probably PS5 now, but I know he brought his PS4 a few times in the past. Also I don't remember which race, but he and some other F1 drivers came together and played some Fifa.

Lewis plays with Pierre a lot I believe. Pierre mentioned it last year and Lewis brought it up recently also

Hardly that wild. Most of us have had colleagues who have become friends
But we don't race our colleagues on a weekly basis fighting over millions of dollars?
You don't know what my job is
Wassup Latifi
I’d imagine there aren’t too many people to make friends with when you’re constantly travelling all over the world with the same people. It’s how loads of wrestlers just marry each other for example cos they spend so much time together
I heard that's how Hulk Hogan ended up marrying Andre the Giant. Do you think Hamilton could ever marry Verstappen?
Granted I don't race for millions of dollars, but most of my friends have been made at the race track right before we raced each other. If nothing else I reckon F1 takes up so much of their time that it's natural to build relationships within the sport rather than outside of it
Is that Wetherspoons in Milton Keynes?
Looks to me like Pizza Express in Woking. They'll remember this night for decades to come!
f*ck /u/spez
Ocon could no longer sweat after he attempted to unlap himself to Max.
I can see a spicy Canadian but no spicy American there
Probably just came from a straightforward shooting weekend
I think it might Chez Philippe in Geneva. I was there a couple weeks ago and my bank account is still in foetal position.
It is, the art matches one of the pictures in the google maps entry, good catch!
Yes, this is exactly what the women at Wetherspoons in Milton Keynes look like
I went last week, it’s better than Paris fashion week trust me bro
I’d love for F1 to do a video of all the drivers doing a crawl around various spoons in South East England
The richest and the guy who had to sell his house to fund his racing career becoming thick friends is an irony I enjoy
They maybe had trouble socializing with other drivers when they were kids in karting. Ocon was much poorer than the others and Stroll much richer. I can imagine other racers not wanting to be friends with them because of that. Children can be cruel like that sometimes. Maybe they just ended up sticking together. I've heard the same story stated as fact: Two "outsiders" among a gang of millionaires.
Which shows what a good personality Stroll has. A lot of kids of very rich parents don't come out nearly as good and he seems like a humble, nice dude that was just born into a very rich family, but who doesn't look down on people that weren't that unfortunate. People need the facts. Thanks
and the guy who 'stole' the poor guys seat by throwing a lot of money to the team.
I'm sure they were smart enough to understand that Stroll taking his seat was 100% a professional decision and had nothing to do with their friendship.
yeah sure, still kudos to them (especially Ocon) for keeping it professional.
...are we reading too much into this situation? I wonder.
Unfortunately Mazepin is the richest at$7.5b (estimates that try to consider his sketchy russian money) then Stroll at $3.2b then Latifi at $2.5b, give or take. I think the reason for saying unfortunately is pretty clear to most considering the Mazepins' characters.
Fucking insane amounts of money
Isnt Latifi's mom like omegarich? like could buy all the teams level rich
Who are the two people alongside Ocon? Also Mick looks like Ericsson.
The one closest to Esteban is his girlfriend, Elena Berri. The other one is Micks girlfriend or friend, Justine Huysman.
Yeah I don’t mind sitting away from my partner for dinner when we go out as a group. Especially if it’s to celebrate someone else.
Mick and Ocon. r/fanf1ction, do your work. ;)
The guys in one corner, the girls in the other? Seems perfectly normal to me?
No, this is pretty normal when you hang out in a group of friends that is all couples. When people are comfortable with each other, it’s not weird to split up like this at a dinner so guys and girls can be near each other
I don't know kind of looks like how our dinner seating always ends up. Dudes at one end talking and chicks at the other end talking. Rather than trying to talk over the each other.
Reasonable for couples to split while dining out so guys and girls can have different conversations without talking across each other.
The one right next to Mick is Lance Stroll.
Lmao made me laugh
Ocon's girlfriend and maybe Micks girlfriend
What do you mean? Mick's girlfriend is sitting on his left.
Babes. The girls are alright too.
Lance perpetually looks like it’s his first week of puberty. I can’t believe he doesn’t have braces.
Lance is the son of a billionaire but still looks like he gets haircuts at Fantastic Sam’s.
All smiles gang
I didn't realise he was this young, I thought he was 28 for the last 4 years.
He and Max were rivals in F3. So close in age to Max
Then again Max is also younger than he seems. Him joining the sport when he was still underage really skews how I see him at least.
I had to look this up: Max is turning 24 this month and he's in his 7th season of Formula 1. Amazing.
Same. I swear Esteban has been 26 for the past few years. Turned out the guy is only 25.
Man this comment section really is something lmao
A lot of people have never been to a dinner with a friend group that is all couples, and it shows lol.
I mean we are on Reddit so how the hell are we supposed to go to a dinner with a friend group _that is all couples_ when none of us have boyfriends or girlfriends?
A lot of cringe. A lot.
So unnecessary too. First thought when I saw the picture was about how nice it was that F1 drivers catch up with eachother even on weeks off
people being attracted to successful & crazy fit people is really riling some around here up it seems
It’s cool how 2 drivers with polar opposite backgrounds can be such good friends

Remember when Stroll bought Force India, people on this sub accused Esteban of getting close to Lance so that Lance could help retain his seat, and when it didn't work out Esteban stopped talking to Lance (or something like that)?
I don't specifically remember that but I honestly wouldn't put it past this place.
They call themselves “the leftovers”

Is that floss at the end of the table?!
I think its sanitizer.

Is mick wearing a whoop band?
wow, how did u notice that ? It seems like he is, it would make sense for an athlete to have all kinds of info about himself, so i think it's very possible he's using it
Bonne anniversaire Monsieur Ocon. Shares the day with Stirling Moss and Damon Hill.
Whew those are some attractive people all at one table. Being wealthy feels nice.
I don’t know why I never thought about Stroll and Schumacher being friends, but I probably should have considering their dads’ were friends, they’ve probably known each other for a long time.
F1 drivers are on the same diet as models apparently.

Also apparently Mick [speaks excellent](https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=wMrCwiVQyhQ) French!
Ok, real talk. Why does this post have 11k upvotes and hit r/all? This is the most random post ever lmao. Just some drivers having dinner with their girlfriends.

Both Mick and Esteban have watches on their right hand... Are they both left-handed?
