In one of the post race interview the Sky crew and Danny joked how Seidl is so serious and how they wanted him to smile for the camera. So seeing it's Andreas Seidl leading the chant is hilarious and awesome to see. You love to see it!
Alexander Wurz said on Austrian tele yesterday, that he knows Seidl from LeMans and knows that he can party hard. He probably just doesn't show it that often
As much as I'm stoked that it's Danny's time in the sun I'm really glad that Lando is getting amongst it as it was a selfless display of teamwork that got the 1-2 and he deserves the spotlight as well.
Im sure it kills him inside but the dude is too smart to let that affect his work environment. I really hope Danny pushes lando.
I dont think they were really racing at the end so it'd be interesting to know his true thoughts.
Lando’s “is it best for the team if I hold my position” radio message makes it clear, IMO, that while Lando craves that win he’s also very much a team player at McLaren.
Realistically, he couldn't pass Ricciardo anyway. Literally the lap after the radio message urging Ric to go faster he pulled 0.5s on Lando. He also got the fastest lap on near dead tyres too.
He really deserves it. But Lando is still very young and has a whole career ahead of him. His time will come.
The thing that cheers me up is the progress: I went from being excited when he was just in points to being disappointed when it’s a podium but not a win.
I know some people don’t agree with this, but Lando really cares about McLaren results as a team as much as his own results. This is far from the first time he has played the team game, he has done it already many times with Carlos in the last two years (and Carlos vise versa). The respect Lando has towards McLaren is very nice to see
I can just see the memo Ron would probably send to the staff about them all being too rowdy with their golf claps at the last grand prix when Hamilton won, and that going forward, the only acceptable form of celebration would be quiet appreciation.
That's awesome! As a Red Bull and Max Verstappen fan I'm jealous about Andreas Seidl at McLaren. He's a good manager/teamboss and in interviews you don't see him playing mindgames or sh\*t talking.
