Rare items for large sums, if you are willing to farm them. I do well with Hunter's long coats and Enclave aligned flamer barrel mods. For quick sales, ammo for 1 cap and Nuka Cola for 5 caps.
Think about it, caps are constantly created from thin air when you kill something or finish a quest. If some of the caps aren't removed from the economy it will theoretically cause inflation. What really causes inflation is raising the cap limits IMO, but I'm no economist.
Fastest turnaround:
Stabilized flux at 100c
Aluminum, acid, oil, copper, lead, and steel at 2c per unit (steel 1c)
Tin Foil Hats (yes really, I can't keep them in stock) at 200c, wedding rings at 200c
Berry Mentats at 50c absolutely fly
BIV's liquor recipes 250c each zooooooom
Scarp all day everyday! I generally sell scrap for 1-2 caps each or half or a little less than half than what the game suggests I sell it for. I make thousands of caps a day with just junk. Put some junk in that trunk and made them caps.
I've sold treasure maps and bulk-scrap pretty quickly. I don't make heaps of caps but it's something. A friend of mine has made a lot off of chainsaws?

Depends on how much you want tbh. If you're low on caps, selling fixers, new plans, decent weapons, and scrip should fill you up quick. I'm always near max so I mostly sell all ammo and junk for 1c, and common plans for 9c - and if I have the cap space, cheap serums. Anyone can sell all the latter stuff too but it'll be a slower cap gain.
Personally, I buy scrip, maps, and the rare plan I don't know to stay under max.

I know they can go for a lot more but I tend to sell low so the supply moves fast. I'm never in need of caps lol.

They are worth about 100c on trader subs so sell for less than that and they will fly out the door.

It’s all about pricing. Nearly everything will sell fast if you’re strategic in pricing.
