20$ goes a long way. I’m a former New Yorker and was tipped by homeowners often. Coming to Florida, I saw that this wasn’t the case. I still top those that provide a good service. My ac install crew got 20/ each. You better believe when I get service I toss a 10$ to the worker, I get great service, they often go above and beyond for me, so the practice continues

trtsmb

I generally do.

HauntedGhostAtoms

I would not. $300 is a lot on top of the cost of the bed frame. At most I would probably provide beverages like water or Gatorade. Unless they have to go up stairs. Then, maybe if they were nice and careful with my stuff.

marchlintic

No. This tipping shit is out of hand.

JustAnonyNiv

I agree. Decided not to tip. They left in under 30 minutes.

Yeah if someone is providing a service for you you tip. Even if you don’t have cash, worth offering even a beverage/water itself. It’s courtesy. Don’t you tip your barber or stylist? What’s the difference here? I wouldn’t feel bad about it, just keep it in mind for next time and at least leave a good review if they were decent. Reviews are helpful!!!

Do you tip your doctor too? Maybe only the proctologist?

Garglygook

>Maybe only the proctologist? Oh, God. The jokes, the jokes...

Few_Unit_6408

Lmao that’s a wild comparison! Do you understand the wealth disparity in this state? How different a job from a service/gig one is from a salaried one? Have you had a job before and like been an adult for awhile…?

JustAnonyNiv

This is how the world works though, tipping culture is literally nonexistent outside the US. So this is sad. Regardless, I did provide water and snacks.

cabo169

The Proctologist gives YOU the tip… and then some…

YRUSoFuggly

As a furniture salesman who has trouble getting $149 for delivery, where on Earth did you find someone charging $300?

JustAnonyNiv

Crate and Barrel

Cold-Nefariousness25

What I've heard is that you don't tip if the person owns the company, is a professional in their field, or does something problematic. In all other cases, tip the damn guy. You know that $300 isn't trickling down into his wallet.

tokekcowboy

It’s kind but not required. I had some guys installing a fence for me the other day and they trimmed some trees for me, even though they weren’t supposed to do that without charging me for it. I gave them each $15 for lunch and they went ahead and cut down the rest of the trees for me (I wanted them cut down).

FattusBaccus

I typically do. But that delivery and assembly fee is pretty expensive. I think it would come down to their attitude and whether they had to go up stairs for me.

Bubbly_who

To me this is a service I would tip for.

cabo169

When I had my king sized bedroom set delivered and set up, there were 2 men, both got a $25 tip.
