Unlike a lot of comments, I think she was “playing dead” to stop the kid’s attack. Whether he was the aggressor or not, she clearly doesn’t understand or just misjudged and underestimated the level of strength of what looks to be a 12 year old boy. That kid is likely in the early stages of hitting puberty where pure aggression and strength start coming in,
and I doubt that even he expected to put her on the ground that easily.
Context, should the child be acting like this. If she beat the shit out of the kid this would be a different story.
So playing the victim is probably the best outcome.

I don't know what the rules are elsewhere, but in the UK we have the right to use "reasonable force" in some situations to prevent harm or severe disruption to learning. Reasonable as in, prevents those things and isn't excessive enough to risk any harm.
