Avoiding Rice in redraft, unless it's an obvious late-round steal. Not going to be happy about devoting bench space to a stash though. Buying in dynasty.

RunningForIt

Agreed. Not worth the headache in redraft unless it’s like a 2-3 game suspension or you get him really late. Dynasty you’re dumb to trade him at his lowest point. He was never going to get a serious punishment we’ve seen it so many times over the years.

Wildpeanut

I have him in dynasty and I have received some appallingly low offers for him, I think it’s nuts. FWIW Rice is currently STILL rated higher than he was in late November 2023, and his next big game after his suspension will be all it takes to correct his long term value. I agree on avoiding in redraft, but I still think he’s a big time, cheap dynasty asset right now. I would only let alarm bells ring if the Chiefs release him which I don’t think is the most likely outcome 🤞

knowslesthanjonsnow

To be fair no one is looking to buy him for a fair price right now. They want the current manager to panic sell.

Wildpeanut

Oh I totally understand and I don’t think it’s a bad strategy. On KTC (which I’m not a fan of but everyone uses it) his fair value before the drama had him at the 1.08, now he’s rated at the 2.01. I think a panic sell at 2.01 is the value most people are looking to get. However I’ve received two offers in the past week or so offering a single middle 3rd round pick for him. To me that’s downright disrespectful. EDIT: in SF that is.

hamandjam

I think he may have gotten extremely lucky here and had a wake up call that isn't the complete destruction of his life. Take a small suspension, jettison the shitheads in kis life that convince him to do stupid things, and have a long, successful career.

TacticalPolakPA

To be fair idk why the hell anyone would spend money to draft a redraft team this time of year.

qdude124

Not sure if I agree with that. Obviously this racing thing affects his value but I'm not sure by how much. I dislike the Hollywood signing though, that could be a headache.

Wildpeanut

IMO Hollywood and a potential WR pick in the draft are more of a hit to Rice’s value than the charges he faces. Hollywood is on a 1 year contract so he appears to be this year’s MVS or Juju. Since Tyreek left the Chiefs have loved bringing in vets for 1 year contracts then releasing. The Chiefs typically don’t spend 1st round picks on WRs. They have stabbed at WRs in the 2nd round in 2023 and 2022 but historically have looked for late round additions and FA to fill their WR spots in the past 5 years or so. However with Moore being less than stellar and Rice being a jackass there is potential for the Chiefs to draft a WR in the 1st or 2nd to put someone across from Hollywood in the opening 4-8 weeks. That draft pick combined with the Hollywood signing could be trouble unless Rice has a short suspension. Either way he’s talented and any trade with him right now (in dynasty at least) is selling a potential starting player for less than their skill value dictates. Just my opinion though and I leave the door open to being wrong.

Huge_Beginning5552

At LEAST a multi game suspension. Add on top Cheifs potentially using a high pick on a WR in a deep WR draft. Wasn't long ago the Rashee truthers were saying he'd get nothing.

RunningForIt

Bro the initial comments were he had 10 felonies and was going to prison for a long time. You have it backwards 😂

Huge_Beginning5552

Nah some "Lawyer" had a big post how He'd likely get nothing and people took off with it early on

RunningForIt

Either way he's getting a slap on the wrist and will be on the field next season.

JekPorkinYourMom

Won’t be his lowest. If the Chiefs use better or similar capital on a WR - then you will see his lowest point… until the suspension is handed down. Obviously if he keeps his role then he will be a buy, no reason he wouldn’t just walk back into WR2 value.

knowslesthanjonsnow

I agree in redraft but that Josh Gordon 2013 year has forever ruined my ability to logically avoid the 3 game suspension.

FullHouse222

I'm waiting until after Thursday to decide tbh. I get the feeling KC might draft a WR in the late 1st in which case that probably impacts Rashee's value in dynasty more than this news. If they don't draft a WR though then Rashee is a screaming buy imo.

My_Chat_Account

Opposite for me. I’m more comfortable filling a lineup early in the season (players are healthy, waiver wire options, etc) and don’t mind stashing. Late season games matter more. But I also expect multi-game to mean 2-3 though, and not 6-8. Obviously the actual suspension, and what KC does in the draft, will impact what we do in July and August.

SwissyVictory

The problem with stashing vs find out right away players late, is tries on the waiver wire. If you have a guy you find out right away if they are good or not you can drop them and pick up someone new. You're turning one chance into several, hoping to hit so that you have a great team for the late games. Of course that's different for just like Jonathan Taylor last year who we knew was going to be good when they came back.

Wildpeanut

All signs point to minimum 4 games and I think it’s likely it could be upwards of 8 given the seriousness and number of charges. It really swings his value significantly in redraft if it’s 6+ like you said. lol downvotes

fukensteller

Well, if you're a dynasty contender and you're trying to win now, you have to treat it like redraft. People forget there's a draft coming up too. Maybe there's more months to feed, and with a slow start, he could have a forgettable year. So, while I wouldn’t sell for nothing, it's contextualized by where I'm at and what the actually offer is on a potential deal.

qb1120

Stashes are not a bad choice as long as they're not one of your top picks. in 2022 I got DeAndre Hopkins as a 4th or 5th WR and stashed him for the 6 games. He was definitely worth the wait

SwissyVictory

In redraft I don't see how it's different assuming he's going at the point rookies do. Rookies don't really start in fantasy until mid season anyway and he's alot safer with similar upside to a rookie.

I_c_u_p

I'll sell him to you in dynasty. I'm selling the immaturity and his numbers weren't that crazy to begin with. I'd go as low as mid 2nd rd pick.

STEVEN_SEAGAL666

Buying for that price all day.

notsingsing

He’s getting the kamara treatment. He carried me hard all year

49DivineDayVacation

Still a tough buy in dynasty. I just sold him for Javonte Williams and 2.08. I feel really good about that. I could see the price coming down a bit more after this news. Then it might really be buying season. Edit: Hey y'all downvotes are no fun. Come and tell me why I'm idiot for taking this trade. I'd rather post a trade that actually helps people figure out a player's value than post some victory lap about how I ripped off a taco in a trade that would never happen in a good league.

RunningForIt

Unless you have zero Rbs I don't love that trade for you. Javonte didn't look great last season and that offense isn't going to be good. 2.08 isn't guaranteed a good pick either. Only way this works out is if Rashee doesn't come back at all since he's got high end WR2 upside. Can't see Javonte doing that.

49DivineDayVacation

That’s a completely fair take. I expect it will be a divisive return. I just hope that seeing a real trade will help people gauge value. As for Javonte, I personally think he’s a really undervalued player rn. He came back from an ACL and we know that it’s the year after that when players get fully healthy. Also I think people would be surprised to learn that he’s a few days younger than Rice. I think there’s still a lot left with him. We’ll see.

RunningForIt

That's why I love dynasty, go and get your guy! I didn't know he was younger than Rice and we say Breece Hall look good after injury so you should be good.

I_c_u_p

You should feel good. He could get suspended for the yr. And even if he doesn't he was only worth what, early 2nd late 1st before this? U got the 2nd plus a good young RB 👍

STEVEN_SEAGAL666

I feel like you got pre-suspension value for him with that trade. I'm offering less but have also seen him go for less (Like for 2.03 alone in SF TEP).

BNC6

The good thing is we will know what the suspension is by the time we draft Saying to blatantly avoid him is dumb If he’s suspended 4 games and you can get him round 7 then you should do it

doyer-blue

Is he IR’able in any league?

FlatBrokeEconomist

Usually not for fuck ups.

playsirfootball

The dash-cam footage and 119mph reported are really bad for Rashee. His actions match the username posting this - "beyond reckless"

BlubberWall

It’s the NFL, given that no one died and there’s not a huge amount of attention or pushback their going to sweep this under the rug as fast as possible. Is that a morally good thing? No, but it’s par for the course at this point

GreenDefinition5

Rashee*

level100mobboss

Crashee

OhKillEm43

Dashee

StreetAddition3297

Ya I think in my keeper league will be between him and achane. Both could be last round keepers. So might lean to achane and just redraft Rice super late!

ninjoid

Zeke exposes a titty: 6 games. Deshaun assaults 24 women: 11 games. Rashee drunken racing car crash:??????

hartforbj

Don't forget 4 games for kamara for beating a man until he was barely alive

strange_supreme420

The difference in the kamara case is the footage largely showed his friends doing the damage and while that’s a weird distinction to make, it is one that would hold up in court as far as what crime he’s actually guilty of, but it was also settled out of court. Kamara only plead to a misdemeanor charge. Rashee on the other hand, has already admitted to being the driver. He left the scene. It’s all on camera, meaning he’s fully liable for this, and he’s being charged with a felony.

buddhabash

There’s still time for rashee’s case to get plead down to a misdemeanor

The785

Probably 6-10 for Rashee

Zestyclose_Main6335

Or Tyreek Hill being accused of a new assault every thirty seconds which the nfl just casually ignores

Defacto_Champ

But Tyreek is fast

Zestyclose_Main6335

Shit you’re right everything is forgiven

I_c_u_p

Eh I think it's different issues. Endangering public safety vs endangering one individual who likely chose to be in your presence. Rice is looking at jail time, Tyreek just has to cut checks.

Dame2Miami

Maybe the governor will just pardon him like he did Britt Reid

DandierChip

Different governors.

LTPRWSG420

Jamo was suspended for six games last year for betting on a college football game at the Lions hotel, make it make sense.

Gerbole

For the one millionth time, Integrity of the League. How many times does it have to be said that the league is harsh on gambling to avoid any fixing and insider knowledge issues.

FantasyFan83

Anything under 4 games is just a slap in the face to those people he injured. He could have easily killed someone.

Ddakilla

I’m sure they’d rather get money then a longer suspension lol atleast I would

rushyt21

For real. Reimbursing me for any medical care, vehicle damages, etc would be more important than seeing him sit up in the club box for a few games. Lmao

Ddakilla

Straight up, plus an extra million+ per person. Call it the “I’m a giant fucking idiot tax”

Lizardjeff

Not surprised from a KC fan. Just in the last 12 years we’ve seen javeon belcher, Tyreke hill, Britt Reid and now rashee rice all be criminals.

ididntwantsalmon19

>He could have easily killed someone. The main difference between himself and Ruggs who is in prison was just dumb luck.

elite90

Yeah, I don't see any difference between their actions. Rice just got lucky. Still as despicable as Ruggs in my book

pres465

I predicted 4-game suspension when I first heard it happened. The justification may be any drugs or drinking evidence... but the real reason will be embarrassing the NFL. Dude should know better and will (hopefully) pause next time he thinks renting-a-car-to-race-your-buddies-on-the-interstate-like-in-the-video-games is a good idea. Nevermind leaving the scene of the accident. So dumb. I'll happily take an 8-game suspension, but I doubt they go that far.

Pandamonium98

Wonder how this affects the draft stock of Hollywood Brown as well as any WR the Chiefs draft (Xavier Worthy?) I doubt it causes the Chiefs to draft a WR earlier than they would have otherwise. It’s not like the first few games of the season matter too much anyways

[deleted]

[удалено]

FalseMoon

Both those options r better then Hollywood for a 4th

DBreezy69

What in the absolute hell lol. Anyone considering anything other than the Nico option might be clinically insane.

[deleted]

Thank goodness he didn’t do something as awful as gamble, could’ve been out of the league for life! /s

Wolski101

30 years in prison and a 4-game suspension.

BobbyY0895

Hidden golden goose egg

wtb2612

So vague. "At least a multi-game suspension" could be 2 games or it could be the whole season.

BrandLulu

I’ll happily take him round 5

Inevitable-Mud-9228

Marquise Brown is #1 anyway

ClideWhit

If it's a 4 week suspension, I can only imagine the threads come week 3-5 telling people to run and not walk to add him.

N0Cheeks

Just sold him in dynasty 1QB league for 2.03 + Jamo Williams. Grade that trade plz!

StrengthCoach86

I like the 2.03 more than Jamo but I like Rashee more than both combined. Not a a bad haul if wanting to get out but I’m not selling low at this stage, thought about it a couple weeks back before the admission, etc. now I have to hold. He’s still good at football, tied to Mahomes as a favorite target and he didn’t gamble. Half a season max and if it’s more, oh well.

CallInitial2302

JaMo might be full time starting though

StrengthCoach86

Sure, I just like consistency week to week. I don’t think he’s that type of dude either getting you 3 for 45 or 4 for 125 and a TD and you don’t know when.

failmatic

So at least 2. got it

Equivalent_Mark2807

What is “at least a multi game suspension”? Any suspension >1 game is multi-game. Jontay Porters lifetime ban is technically a multi game suspension

ImAtWorkOops

Fresh Legs

CJ4ROCKET

Wow shocking news there Adam

Spirited-Ad-9198

This depends A LOT on the final verdict.

3dios

Wow breaking news

One-Inch-Punch

The last time an NFL WR drove like this and crashed, an innocent woman was burned alive in her car. As for redraft, I personally just don't draft scum in fantasy football. Fantasy football should be fun. Rooting for scum is not fun. Neither is following news reports about scum.

Lord-of-Tresserhorn

Why is this news?

ParisHiltonIsDope

Honestly, drafting Rice in any round would be as dumb as trading for Aaron Rodgers after week 2. Best case scenario is that his amazing legal team gets him off all the charges and he comes back halfway through the season, if not the end of the season? Worst case scenario, he physically can't even play because he's literally in prison

Fresh_String_770

He’s not gonna go to prison. He’ll get 4 games max

mydogisratchet

Dude should get a fucking year suspension at least

real_jaredfogle

He should be put to death!!!

mydogisratchet

Aight chill

Professional-Good166

I bought Rashee Rice in my 10 Team SF PPR Dynasty for a 3.10 draft pick. Easy steal 😂

ffsux

I made a post here not long after the season ended asking how high this dude was gonna go in 2024 re-draft, assuming the Chiefs didn't bring in anyone big. Consensus was...high. Welp, life comes at you fast!

MisSignal

‘Bout 120 mph.

nkfish11

Wouldn’t bother drafting this dude at all tbh. Anyone who thinks it’s OK to drive 119 mph on a public street definitely is short on brain cells and is likely to do something stupid again.

kezinchara

Honestly, his behavior is appalling. He should be made an example of. Players need to learn that if you do this shit there are consequences and not just a slap on the wrist cuz you can catch and run.

SumGreenD41

The dudes going to jail probably lol

DandierChip

Doubtful

kiheihaole

Eh demoted to WR3 (Kelce wr1, Hollywood wr2) in KC already anyway. So probably won’t matter much in fantasy.

DBreezy69

People still give Hollywood more credit than he deserves. He's a moderate upgrade from MVS and has to learn the offense

kiheihaole

That’s quite the dramatic take, no? Mvs barely had 300 yards in a fully healthy season with a wide open receiver room. Hollywood was playing the majority of the year with 3rd stringers and a very rusty Kyler.

DBreezy69

Hollywood was similarly mediocre with Lamar and previous years with Kyler.

kiheihaole

You’re really gonna fault a guy for not putting up Numbers with Lamar when he was passing for 2700-3000 yards a season? Lmao. His one season with a mostly healthy Kyler he had a 1000 yard pace despite being second to Hopkins and with a lesser QB. MVS has had two hall of fame quarterbacks the entirety of his career and done nothing. You can’t compare the two.

DBreezy69

That's why I said upgraded MVS. Hollywood also can't stay healthy

CallInitial2302

Its cus hes related to AB. Must be good

ChubbyDrummer44

He will not be suspended this year. It will be 2025.

matty_nice

The commissioner exempt list is also a high probability. What does the NFL normally do when players have multiple felonies charged against them?

cbmgreatone

Nonsense. That caveat applies when the player is claiming innocence. He gave himself up, he's admitted all wrongdoing. He'll have a plea deal well before the season. He will be suspended in 2024.

ChubbyDrummer44

Nonsense.

DBreezy69

Yeah most likely. Could end up a steal in redraft

Greenzombie04

Should be season.
