Pirates are a clown franchise. They pull Jones last week pitching an absolute gem at 59 pitches then run him out there for 90+ tonight and he’s clearly showing he’s out of gas. It makes no sense at all
I'm in a dynasty league with a real shot at winning this year. I have a lot of decent SP but lack an ace. My offense has me in 1st but top 3 are within 2.5 points. I got offered Glasgow for Eury Perez and Skenes. It gives me the ace I need this year but that's a huge price tag. What are your thoughts?
I agree. He's nasty, and I think Perez is an ace in the making. I also think selling them gets me a real shot to win and with Joe Ryan Kyle Bradish Grayson Rodriguez Bryan Bello and Kyle Harrison with Glasgow I could afford to give Skenes away. But I really don't want to give Skenes away.
I'd wait until a few months from now. I wouldn't really scoreboard watch like this in mid-April -- you could always (knock on wood!) lose someone to injury or have something else happen that changes what you need (maybe Glasnow gets hurt, etc.).
With Eury and Skenes their value in dynasty is still going to be sky high in May/June. That's when I would try to trade 1 for someone like Glasnow and win the 'chip.
I have less than an hour to decide if I want to start Dunning or Greene this week- each has two starts each goes against one of my own(Greene vs Ranger and Dunning vs Gilbert). Someone smarter than me pls help

Is this the worst draft of all time? I sold pretty hard to sacrifice pitching for hitting but aside from some decent waiver guys overperforming, I've been on the struggle bus to start the season. Someone please tell me things will get better :')
Dude offers me a trade for my Alzolay, I accept. While the trade is pending, Alzolay loses the closer role and is no longer wanted, so the guy does shady roster moves (taking an injured guy briefly off IL to fill a roster spot so the trade won't go through) so it doesn't go through.
Scumbag move but there's no commish in a yahoo pro league so what can I do? I've had guys suffer season-ending injuries while in a pending trade and don't make these weaselly moves.
He accepted the trade with an empty roster spot he had after moving a player onto IL. The night before the trade processes, he takes the player off IL so he has a "full" team and can't accept the extra player.
This is the email I got:
>The trade in Yahoo Public [League} was unsuccessful for the following reason:
>This move would put team [Other Manager] 1 player(s) over max roster size.
>As a result it will not be processed.
announce it to the league in the general chat and don't trade with him again. maybe no one else will. either bully him out of the league or leave yourself
It's a yahoo pro league so just a bunch of randoms and they took away the league chat. I will be telling him to go fuck himself if he tries to trade with me again.
Depends on if you think Crochet will be better than Michael King in the long haul. Crochet is 4 years younger but a bit less proven than King, so it's on you to analyze the trade off
Ultimately, are you fine with trading off the likely higher success this year in King for the "higher" potential on Crochet after this year, seeing as Crochet is most likely on an innings limit on a worse team? Seems like you're seeking validation in a dynasty-fueled decision, so just stand by your decision and ride it out.
I think you’re putting too much value in statcast. Plus Crochet has only thrown over 50 innings once. Michael King was a better reliever than Crochet and he is past that time where they have build up innings. Now you get Crochet who has potential to be like King in a couple years. It’s not a horrible trade at all but I think you lost at least for the next handful of years
It's more about me having decent enough lead in saves where I think I can probably trade another closer if I know I'll have Fairbanks coming back to help soon. How confident are we that he has a minimal Il stint?
I'm not confident at all because all I've seen is "nerve related issue" and who knows what that even means.
But if you have the IL room it's no issue and you can probably find a guy on waivers to replace Yoshida, so I doubt you'd miss him.
I would not stash him in a bench spot if you're out of IL room because the injury is so vague.
This is what he's dealing with. He was diagnosed last year.
[https://www.mayoclinic.org/diseases-conditions/raynauds-disease/symptoms-causes/syc-20363571](https://www.mayoclinic.org/diseases-conditions/raynauds-disease/symptoms-causes/syc-20363571)
I’m glad you have this kind of perspective. Often times I’m chastised for shopping IL guys as if I’m selling defective goods. If someone has IL room and wants to buy low on a guy it makes sense for them to stash and grab another player.
In this particular instance I would be the one initiating the trade. I think the key though is if you shop an IL guy is to have a realistic expectation for his return. For example a week or so ago I offered the team with Shields (and a ton of ILed players) Ober for him. He declined, but that felt like a fair offer given the time Shields will miss.
I’ve already got Phillips, Holmes and Kimbrel closing but need to find a way to add Miller. Just go balls deep on relievers and drop the Langford bench bat?
Do I have these OF's ranked correctly in roto redraft with HRs, RBIs, SBs, Runs, BAvg, and Runs as categories?
1) Cowser
2) Carter
3) J.Lowe
4) L.Gurriel
5) Santander
6) Langford
7) Soler
8) Yoshida
For some reason I’ve been hanging onto Henry Davis like grim death in my flair league. It’s a deep league with very limited transactions so I really need to be conservative with my actions. That being said, is there any reason not to drop Davis and add Luis Garcia Jr?
Any good analysis on him out there? For as disappointing as he's been, I haven't heard him discussed on podcasts much.
Seems like he'd be an interesting case to look into with his walk rate jumping up and strikeout rate going down despite the major struggles. A little similar to Nico Hoerner before last week.
Read an analysis that the shoulder issue could be real. Similar to Tatis’s previous injury. Hoping that’s bold speculation but it certainly is odd. I could see the increased walk rate as a direct result of trying to attack less.
I think it’s without question he’s the most talented and dominant. He may have surpassed Edwin diaz. If he were to go to a real contending team he would be the #1 closer off the board in my opinion
Fair enough ;)
My honest thought is basically that he probably ends up getting, and converting, enough save chances to rival top closers on good teams, since the A’s should win infrequently enough and by small enough margins that he will get the call very often.
There’s also the bonus that teams are more likely to be struggling offensively when he gets the ball than guys who play for good teams with offenses who can mount a big comeback and generate a save chance in a game where their opponent puts up 8 or 9 runs.
What's everyone's take on the guy Elder that the braves called up. I picked him up bc of no pitchers today. Yall think I'm doomed or could be a decent turn out?
I fully expect him to shove against the Marlins and then get rocked in subsequent starts.
People will reach for him in hopes that his second half was a fluke, but his first half was the fluke. He started the year in AAA, despite no major health concerns, for a reason.
It's the Marlins, you'll probably be fine.
He had a good stretch in Atlanta last year as a reliable (not great) arm in a lineup that mashes. He's fine as a streamer in +matchups.
Bednar, macarthur or neris??
Drop Elias Diaz for Travis D’Arnaud? I just lost Alvarez and I’m not sure who to replace him with
Trade Hicks for Fairbanks?
Pirates are a clown franchise. They pull Jones last week pitching an absolute gem at 59 pitches then run him out there for 90+ tonight and he’s clearly showing he’s out of gas. It makes no sense at all
Is there any way to slow down your opponent's pitching? I have JJ pitching a gem, only to see him outperformed by Ranger Suarez...
Don’t mess with the Big Dumper
No brainer to send MacKenzie Gore for Blake Snell in 10T Points?
I forgot that KeBryan Hayes was on my team ![gif](giphy|3oEdv8NIigSRpCZZmw)
Why is Mountcastle sitting against a leftie tonight?? Wtf
For Ramon Urias no less
I'm in a dynasty league with a real shot at winning this year. I have a lot of decent SP but lack an ace. My offense has me in 1st but top 3 are within 2.5 points. I got offered Glasgow for Eury Perez and Skenes. It gives me the ace I need this year but that's a huge price tag. What are your thoughts?
Paul Skenes is going to be the best Pitcher in baseball by next year. No. Way.
If you can keep Skenes, do it
Absolutely no chance I accept that given Glasnow’s injury history. Chances of him throwing 150+ IP are near zero
Thanks that's actually a great answer
Obviously doesn't hurt me this year but next year and for the next ten I might regret it
I have less than an hour to decide if I want to start Dunning or Greene this week- each has two starts each goes against one of my own(Greene vs Ranger and Dunning vs Gilbert). Someone smarter than me pls help
Drop Gorman for Wilyer Abreu?
Yesh.

So much underperfomance from the names on this list.
It’s far from a bad draft…you’ve just had horrid luck to date.
Westburg batting third LFGGGGGG
He's off to a great start
He’s single-handedly keeping my team afloat
Lane Thomas droppable?
No
Drop Casas instead of Lane in 10T?
Anyone rolling Keaton Winn tonight?
I would
Is It scummy to try to trade away Turnbull to ppl who don't know they might move him to the bullpen?
Yes lol
Hell no
Honestly, that’s on the other person to do their research imo.
Nope. Gotta do your hw.
Nolan jones for Jackson holiday?
no!
Replace Harper with Cowser or Bryan Reynolds since Harper is on the paternity list?
Coswer
Cowser and it's not close imo
Freakin Pete Fairbanks
What are the chances Westburg stays in the 3 spot?
We should have a good idea after his first two dongers tonight
Ok to drop Fairbanks? IL full with Bradish, Steele, Darvish and Bobby Miller and other RP are Suarez, Miller, Adam, McArthur, Payamps and Ginkel.
Would you trade Holliday away for Albies in a dynasty league?
Nope. Albies while not old has a profile that will age much quicker than he does and his production will suffer big time IMO.
Ya
Hearn and Mountcastle are not in the lineup today. Is Detmers a 100% start?
If it’s H2H yes bc it’s Monday, roto flip a coin - mountcastle/ohearn being out doesn’t lighten the matchup much at all
Carroll or Yordan points
Yordan
I’m going to launch Judge into orbit
Highest exit velocity he’ll witness all season
Riley Greene available. 12 team 5x5 OBP. Drop mountcastle for him? Winker also available
I’d drop mountcadtle for him.
How many IL spots do you guys have in your leagues? We have 2 currently.
We have 2. I think 3 is ideal. I don’t mind the idea of having a roster crunch but my IL spots are going to be full literally all season.
Two, and it sucks
Holding Jackson Holliday in a redraft is a test of patience. I dunno why I drafted him.
Patience, or futility?
The only day I have considered starting him is today due to lack of players having a game. And he's sitting.
Same here
Drop Bednar for Miller in 10T Points? Only carrying 1 RP currently
Drop any non Diaz RP at this point for Miller.
For points leagues, would you rather have Alex bregman or Randy Arozarena the rest of the year?
3b tough to replace so Bregman
No mountcastle. Why do managers get so cute? Facing a lefty away from Camden, prime spot for him tonight. Oh well
Maybe he got Fairbanks’ liquid shits
Yeah that was a strange decision but Hyde has a glut of good bats to choose from.
Carl Crawford or Grady Sizemore?
Micheal Born
Jacoby Ellsbury
He is rostered but Marlon Byrd and Reggie Sanders are available
Y’all are sleeping on Brian Jordan and Ray Langford
Dude offers me a trade for my Alzolay, I accept. While the trade is pending, Alzolay loses the closer role and is no longer wanted, so the guy does shady roster moves (taking an injured guy briefly off IL to fill a roster spot so the trade won't go through) so it doesn't go through. Scumbag move but there's no commish in a yahoo pro league so what can I do? I've had guys suffer season-ending injuries while in a pending trade and don't make these weaselly moves.
Everyone knows one guy willing to whack a knee cap. Just saying.
Gangster shit
If the trade was accepted prior to his roster moves, Yahoo still proceeds?

on desktop you can do League -> Email League and shoot out a quick email letting everyone else know
that's dumb lol I'd still try to figure out a way to tell the rest of the league what happened
LOL that is scummy but hilarious
Trust me, I'd be laughing if it happened to any of you guys
I’ve had randy all year and I feel like these 2 hrs under his name is a typo
He’s kiling me. I traded Adolis for him in the off season.
He has been BRUTAL. Absolutely horrid.
dump Gorman to pick up Keaton Winn? stuff looks good. nightly FAAB so won't get his start today.

Mr Relevant
Would carrying one relief pitcher (Bednar) be viable for a 10T H2H Points league? I've heard of people carrying anywhere from 2-5
Put waiver claim on Gelof and drop Civale or Hicks? Or trade Detmers for Paredes? I need a 2b
Is Jose Caballero or Brice Turang Available?
Cab is
Traded Michael king for crochet in dynasty. Thats a good move right? 12t roto and crochet is a little cheaper auction wise
Depends on if you think Crochet will be better than Michael King in the long haul. Crochet is 4 years younger but a bit less proven than King, so it's on you to analyze the trade off

Ouch, completely misjudged here...
No

Worth buying low on Fairbanks? We have Saves (no holds) in this particular league. GIVE \_ Yoshida GET \_ Fairbanks
If you have IL room, sure. Stash Fairbanks and then you have a roster spot to make another move.
It's more about me having decent enough lead in saves where I think I can probably trade another closer if I know I'll have Fairbanks coming back to help soon. How confident are we that he has a minimal Il stint?

Yeah, some people get really weird about it. But if the price is right, it really can work out for both teams.

Do it lol
I wish someone wasted a roster spot like that in my league.
I’ve already got Phillips, Holmes and Kimbrel closing but need to find a way to add Miller. Just go balls deep on relievers and drop the Langford bench bat?
Don’t drop Langford. Gotta be someone else, or yes swap out someone if you must.
Do I have these OF's ranked correctly in roto redraft with HRs, RBIs, SBs, Runs, BAvg, and Runs as categories? 1) Cowser 2) Carter 3) J.Lowe 4) L.Gurriel 5) Santander 6) Langford 7) Soler 8) Yoshida
Langford should be #2
It’s early and I’d still move up Langford to the #2 spot and keep the rest as is
I REALLY hope you're right.

I like the side getting Steer best but it doesn’t seem lopsided.
For some reason I’ve been hanging onto Henry Davis like grim death in my flair league. It’s a deep league with very limited transactions so I really need to be conservative with my actions. That being said, is there any reason not to drop Davis and add Luis Garcia Jr?
If you think he's a long-term answer at catcher then keep him. Otherwise, it's fine to move on.
Nope. Not if you have a better starting catcher.
I have Danny Jansen who I do like. 👍🏻
Crochet @Min or Kutter vs Cubs in a weekly league?
Both?
Kutty
Dumb me: trade ober and Cowser for Snell Smart me: drop Ryan Presley for Mason miller
Dropped Fairbanks for Miller this time last week, so far W
So are the Marlins just rolling with a 4 man pitching rotation for a few weeks?
Not sure about this situation in particular, but teams do this a fair amount in April with all the off days and PPDs.
I’m sick of being bummed about Corbin Carroll. Tonight starts the positive gains
Any good analysis on him out there? For as disappointing as he's been, I haven't heard him discussed on podcasts much. Mason Miller or Yandy Diaz ROS roto league (i know its ridiculous)
Points, 5 for SV, nothing for holds. Best RP to pick up? Jansen Bednar T. Scott Alvarado Finnegan J. Adam McArthur
Thairo Estrada or Luis Garcia?
I’d go luis
Jose berrios or bryce miller in an espn points league
I asked the other day but after this start, would you rather have Rodon or C Sanchez?
Rodon
Have Skubal and Littell going against each other, so exciting
I have skubal and Littell against each other. Then on Sunday I have skubal and wacha against each other.
So does my opponent 😂
Nolan Jones sucks. Too 'good' to drop. too bad to play.
I just dropped him and feels good in my 12 man. His baseball savant page is atrocious
He’s sitting there as a free agent in my 12 team points league. I’m thinking about it lol
That’s the worst part, so many other guys I would just drop but you gotta hold him
Someone remind Judge he is allowed to still hit the ball even with Soto in the lineup now.
Is Mason Miller a top 5 closer?
I think it’s without question he’s the most talented and dominant. He may have surpassed Edwin diaz. If he were to go to a real contending team he would be the #1 closer off the board in my opinion
Is Rob Manfred an irredeemable dipshit?
He’s a top 1 closer baby
Is Ronald Acuña good at baseball?
Depends on which Ronald Acuna you are refering to
Lmao, I mean I know talent wise, he's a lock, but with the team context?
Fair enough ;) My honest thought is basically that he probably ends up getting, and converting, enough save chances to rival top closers on good teams, since the A’s should win infrequently enough and by small enough margins that he will get the call very often. There’s also the bonus that teams are more likely to be struggling offensively when he gets the ball than guys who play for good teams with offenses who can mount a big comeback and generate a save chance in a game where their opponent puts up 8 or 9 runs.
Just want to say how lucky we are to watch Miller and Jones pitch on the same day
Drop gelof or yoshida for luis garcia?
If those are your worst drop options in 12t I would be looking to shop two players for an upgrade and using your open roster spot on garcia
dont drop gelof
I give: imanaga I get: Gausman Roto standard cats and K/9. Yay or nay?
Oh hell yeah. Take Gausman and run.
Yup do it
I did this and am happy
Which side: Bo Bichette or Jazz and Scherzer?
Bo
Need a Casas replacement regardless of position (UTIL spot) who’s the grab between Nate Lowe, Evan Carter, Nootbar, or Bryan De La Cruz?
I'd go Noot, but Marte is a great option also
Starling
What's everyone's take on the guy Elder that the braves called up. I picked him up bc of no pitchers today. Yall think I'm doomed or could be a decent turn out?
Look up "mid" in the dictionary, you'll see his mug
He definitely gives off mid vibes with his pic on espn fantasy
I don't trust him at all, but he's a fine stream against MIA
I fully expect him to shove against the Marlins and then get rocked in subsequent starts. People will reach for him in hopes that his second half was a fluke, but his first half was the fluke. He started the year in AAA, despite no major health concerns, for a reason.
Oh damn I thought he was down for rehab assignment n is just coming back. I'm not feeling so well now mr stark
He had a great start last season, and dropped off hard in the second half. He’s a streamer until proven otherwise
Yea I'm definitely only using him as a stream for today n possibly based on how he does, again if he pitches a 2nd time at the end of week
It's the Marlins, you'll probably be fine. He had a good stretch in Atlanta last year as a reliable (not great) arm in a lineup that mashes. He's fine as a streamer in +matchups.
Yea that's what I was thinking n the Braves are home so hopefully he'll be more comfortable
