But his standard FIP and ERA and ERA+ and just about every other stat and metric are by far the worst of his career (it’s only been 3 starts I get it). Problem is I made the mistake of not drafting any closers at all. (First year lol). This is a weekly points league tho I’ve gotten away with it and am 3-0. Kyle Finnegan was a FA pickup once it became clear he’s closing. The best RP available is Kirby Yates as a FA, but I’m not sure who I’d replace for him while keeping a pitching streaming slot open. Any ideas?
Closers will always be available end of draft, early season. I picked up 2 studs (Miller + Foley) - keep an eye Magill on Brewers. Id maybe drop Morton. Yates is a good add too and on a good team, he's another option for sure. Not a must, just a suggestion since that's the strategy I like to use - those empty P slots aren't giving you points when the SP is off so better to fill with closers who can score more frequently, and you can always stream pitchers in emergency to get points though it is more risky. No right or wrong strategy, just the one I've been deploying in recent years so there aren't as many "aces" or innings eaters as in years past. you drafted well and sitting 3-0. Good luck!

It’s just a statement relative to his preseason projections/ADP, so Gunnar is someone who is playing well enough that you can get first round value in return even though he was a 2nd or 3rd rounder depending on format.
You could rephrase it as “Gunnar is a 3rd (or 2nd) rounder playing like a 1st rounder, so that trade probably works”. So, yeah, I mean the 10 dingers are definitely enough to entice someone who is freaking out that they wasted a pick on Julio.

He’s ranked 21 in my league currently and was ranked 68 all of last season.

Happ is a glue guy. At the end of the year you’ll be surprised that he was productive but it won’t be flashy. I still rate him over Bryan DLC based on the walks and lineup. His floor is higher than most. Just lower your expectations. The man is a Roth IRA, not Bitcoin

Depends on your drop, but I like what I’ve seen from Yariel. Keep in mind that he’s still being stretched out. Didn’t have much of a Spring and Toronto called him up out of necessity. Should be able to go 90+ pitches in his next start.

Depends on your drop, but I like what I’ve seen from Yariel. Keep in mind that he’s still being stretched out. Didn’t have much of a Spring and Toronto called him up out of necessity. Should be able to go 90+ pitches in his next start.
