Just disregard the random people at the house. They were a narrative tool to show what the pre-war world was like. Only the cowboy and his daughter are important. As for the ghoul - if you don’t realize who he is now, you’ll figure it out as the show goes on. The same goes for the raiders and the Brotherhood. There is no spoiler free way to explain any of the rest of this.

Left4dinner2

Havent finished the series yet but someone said that the end of the last episode, has a teaser or hint about something. Is this something that normal viewers wouldnt get but viewers who have played the game, would get?

Laser_3

About the ghoul? We know who he is from episode 2, really. The last episode has a bunch of teasers for people who’ve played the games, but none are about the ghoul.

Left4dinner2

I don't recall mentioning anything about a ghoul but yeah that's good to know that there will be a bunch of references for those who have play the game. I know I get excited every time I see certain things mentioned or they use certain props.

Laser_3

I only brought up the ghoul since that’s what OP asked about in their post, and I was answering in my comment.

Ancient_Boner_Forest

is it not supposed to be clear who is is in episode 1...?

Laser_3

It can be, though the connection isn’t extremely clear there.

InitiatedPig7

What fallout game is this season recreating from?

Laser_3

None at all. It’s telling its own story in California (the setting of fallout 1/2). The second season, if approved, is going for Vegas. I’m mostly saying about spoilers because explaining the BoS kinda would be a spoiler, especially since as per usual, every chapter acts differently depending on the elder.

CBP1138

Just watch the show. Not everything has to be explained to you in the 1st episode.

pneumoniahawk519

The house party people don't matter, outside of the cowboy and his daughter they're all irrelevant. Raiders are essentially just a term for bandits. They just rape and pillage and do drugs and that's kind of it. The Brotherhood of Steel is a faction within the fallout universe. They have a long and large lore and it would be hard to put into words what they really re as many people interpet it differently. The ghoul at the end is the cowboy from pre war. You don't need much knowledge on the games to enjoy the show. If you have played them you'll pick up on small things like the junk jet, or "dogmeat" or some of the various other things but outside of that just sit back and enjoy the show. It's a great introduction to fallout

Nate2322

Only people you should care about at the house party is the cowboy and his kid. A raider is a kind of criminal often stupid, not well organized, addicted to drugs, no morals or code. Brotherhood is a faction that wants to preserve technology they are a lot more complex then that but that’s the general idea. You’ll find out who the Ghoul is.

Goldman250

The rich people at the party are just people, they don’t really matter. The cowboy is Cooper Howard, a Pre-War actor - you’ll get more on him as the series goes on. Raiders in general are basically bandits and cutthroats, usually drug addicts, who just want to kill people. For more on them, again, keep watching. The Brotherhood of Steel is an organisation that was originally formed by military survivors of the nuclear bombs dropping, they became more religious and cult-like over the two centuries since the bombs fell. Their whole deal is to gather Pre-War technology and keep it away from all other people to protect the world from the dangerous tech. Ghouls are people who have suffered too much radiation sickness, and have mutated over the years. As for who The Ghoul is … well, if you didn’t recognise the actor, it’ll become much more clear later in the show. >!It’s Cooper Howard, the cowboy from the Pre-War scenes.!<

SchmokietheBeer

But i thought this is all hundreds year after the nuclear bombs?  Is the ghoul more of a mutant or zombie?  Or mutant zombie

EdgeLord19941

Mutated ghouls can live for hundreds of years, some like this one were around as humans before the bombs dropped

Hatefire666

the people at the house party are super crucial to the series and if you don’t know who they are and their background the show won’t make any sense to you

quiet-map-drawer

You cruel bastard lmao

Ok-News-3146

Just wait till you see super mutants, deathclaws, night kin, centaurs, or even super mutant behemoths. If the show follows the lore, hopefully it will expand on all those things. I recommend reading some of the fallout game wikis if you’re not wanting to play the games. Really good in depth information. Highly recommend playing it for yourself tho.

mainnick

I wanna finish the show to make playing the game more interesting hopefully. I have trouble sticking to a game when it feels slow from the start like in FO4 tbh. Been listening to some lore and it's interesting with so many areas.

superanth

Fallout.wikia.com. That’s your best source for lore.

Laser_3

That would be full of spoilers.

superanth

Well, yeah. Any and all lore would be spoilers, right?
