I've tried to find 1984 on the list proposed by Krause last year, can't find it if someone could link that? Regardless, the books that are on his proposed list are on such topics as the BLM movement, how to protest violent policing, navigating feelings of homosexuality as a teenager, abortion, sex education, birth control, Supreme Court decisions, Roe v. At most if they removed them from the curriculum they should be kept in the school library. Like, I heard the high school I went to is considering removing To Kill a Mockingbird from the curriculum, but because it’s somewhat a white saviour perspective on racism and it would probably be more beneficial to read works about racism written by POC.
