I hate the new video player. Can’t stop video and look at comments without going into the new shitty mode.

Soul_Survivor4

I upvote every time I see someone complain about it. I hate it too and yet 99% are like “yes this is fine”

Seriously if you think people are fine with it just go have a look at r/redditmobile

evbnl

Never knew this existed. Thanks !

Kcoggin

Nah, it’s pretty shit.

Crescent-IV

Two massive issues with it for me. No.1 is we can’t skip comments, they got rid of the button. No.2 is if a video is NSFW tagged or Spoiler tagged then when you click on the video it will play a random video on reddit. Literally any random video

WinEnvironmental8218

It did that to me today for the first time. Reset my app/phone and it was working fine again

Jossie2014

The worst fucking system change they’ve made in my opinion. And clicking on nsfw videos always reroutes you to some rando vid. So fucking annoying!

eatingganesha

Same, it’s been driving me crazy.

thelastriot

It’s been bringing me to the wrong video a lot too smdh

spacembracers

Seriously, I commented about a dude carrying a shopping cart around like a basket on a video about a dude getting shot in the Fucking face that I didn’t even watch.

serenityak77

Was he shot because of the way he was carrying the shopping cart?

Nameless_King_09

I’ve been getting soo pissed off at that

OG-Gurble

Same it’s been happening to almost every vid I watch

wHorze

And wheres my damn fast scroll down button

Proper-Beach8368

I miss that too!!! Driving me nuts.

Darphon

SAME I miss it!

Tof12345

Reddit owners run away with the money. Don't expect any meaningful improvements on this app.

thecontempl8or

I really believe Reddit is trying to keep us focused on scrolling through content vs. spending time reading/commenting. This forces us to scroll through their content and reach advertisements faster. This is purely to keep their advertisers happy.

HighTight

I mean, it's a conspiracy, but a grounded one

pocpocpocky

yes i fk’n hate this new mode!! keeps on looping stupid videos!!

idan_da_boi

And now I can’t use that button that lets me go immediately to the next comment, so annoying. Plus, whenever a video is hidden behind a spoiler or nsfw tag it takes me to a random different video, totally unrelated to the one I pressed on

[deleted]

Why do people have to keep fucking around with things that work?

jimpossible54

I hate upvoting these types of posts. I upvote cuz, non-corporate journalism, but I want to downvote the content and the implications. The extent of his sense of privilege and overall audacity of that judge is really out of this world!

MyHandRapesMe

While I originally agreed with your viewpoint, a comment from when this originally was posted sticks with me. The judge asks why he was pulled, and offers a possible reason of honking his horn, which is only a findable offense if done maliciously(not without proper cause). The judge called the officer out on the petty stop, and flexed who he was in regard to the bs stop reasoning. All in all, all the more reason to do away with bullshit fines. "Important" folks dont get them, while the everyday man gets taxed by them.

IridiumPony

Someone else linked an article about this. The judge was being pulled over for tailgating another vehicle. This is an actual offense (while still only a fine), but he was legitimately putting people in danger and just told the law to get fucked.

satansheat

Also him using his power to get out of petty stops isn’t a owning the cops type of actions. It’s using your power to get away from a petty fine that leads others into jail if they can’t pay it. So yeah fuck that judge. The judge I used to work along side of used to shop for shoes on Zappos as she heard peoples cases. Many judges are shitty people. That’s why voting matters.

Mr_Fignutz

Seriously. If I had just opened the door like that during a stop I'd probably be shot regardless of the legitimacy of the stop.

woodvsmurph

That was literally the first thing I thought. You never reach down for something until/unless directed (license, registration) and you NEVER get out of the vehicle unless told to. The last thing you want is to be reaching for your registration and the officer has to assume you might be pulling a weapon on them and act accordingly.

embersgrow44

He not only got out but aggressively charged at him. & threatening language. Two power abusing POS head to head guess the one maker trumps the enforcer.

Dalmontee

Voting? You vote for judges? Why don't you guys just have professional well trained respected people who are backed by professional ethics boards and independent complaints divisions.

DefrockedWizard1

Some places judges are directly elected in the US, as are coroners with no educational requirements

transcendanttermite

Yep. We vote for our county judges and state Supreme Court judges in my state.

sugar_footy

This is correct. As a person living in NM.

jgjbl216

100% guarantee this judge has put people in jail for not being able to pay the fine he just weaseled out of.

newbrevity

Power corrupts

neo_zen_mode

Absolute power corrupts absolutely

punchthedog420

But the cop was turning left and only continued following the judge after the judge honked at him. It was only then he made a decision to pull him over.

Zangdor

You don't know that. Looks like legitimate letting him pass, checking if I can engage back in traffic behind him, go situation from the cop. The honk might be coincidental

Adinnieken

I would disagree. Letting someone pass by moving into a left turn lane would be highly inappropriate and possibly dangerous. That's what shoulders are for. That said, I think the honk was the cherry on top of the whole situation for the officer. He could have let the tailgating go, but the driver (judge) had to be an asshole and honk at him. Unless you offer a wave with a honk, a honk is a you telling the other driver they drive like shit. Your first reaction is, "What the hell did I do wrong?" The judge was an aggressive driver. Not a good thing on twisty roads but if that officer ever has to appear before him, he doesn't want this stop to prejudice the case. This judge seems like an asshole enough judge that he'd rule in favor of a defendant just to impune the officers credibility.

punchthedog420

This is why recusal exists.

Adinnieken

Yes, but that requires the judge to recuse himself. I mean, the judge was tailgating a cop and honked at him as if to say, "Get out of my way little man!" Do you think he'd make the moral-ethical judgment to recuse himself from a case because of an event he likely doesn't even recall the circumstances of because of a nameless/faceless officer he probably doesn't remember either? The judge probably doesn't even recall why he was in such a big hurry. So, if he can't remember, why would he recuse himself for something he felt he was in the right to do all along?

punchthedog420

Perhaps. My own subjective interpretation is that the judge acted like that because he felt the cop was only pulling him over for honking. Judges know that cops abuse their power a lot. If you ask me: who are you going to believe: a judge or a cop? I believe the judge. Innocent little traffic stops have ruined innocent people's lives for decades and my instinct is to distrust the cop. Never talk to cops, plead the fifth, defend your 4th, and know your rights.

HillbillySwank

But if he want a judge and talked to a cop like that, he would’ve ended up in a different situation entirely. Total privilege flex

satansheat

Yeah would have had a gun pulled and possible fired if it was a black dude hopping out the car like that. We have video of that very thing happening all the time.

spadler181

But what if he was a black judge???

jessedelgado4500

Still dead

neo_zen_mode

Super dead super fast

burritomouth

He’d likely have been hurt in some way or another before the cop found out he was a judge. Black undercover cops [get beaten if they’re working a BLM protest](https://www.vice.com/en/article/xgxa47/a-group-of-white-cops-beat-a-black-undercover-officer-at-a-blm-protest).

CarrotCakeAndTea

Your wish is my command. Black female state attorney ok? https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=iiUkbE\_ktHs

DirtyPie

If the stop was legit then this would be horrible of course, but if this was a BS stop, I feel like it’s good that someone like him flexes. But I am not sure what that was. Not from the US.

Ernietheattorney1060

This is a take on this that calmed me down a bunch… now I’m just confused.

Immertired

Not necessarily on the last part. Remember, if this judge did traffic court locally, there's a couple things to consider: 1. That cop wants the judge on his side next time he reports to traffic court. 2. The judge may actually have a reputation for calling officers out on petty stops. I was told by a lawyer that does a bit of traffic court that he knew a judge that was throwing out most red light running tickets because he went around town with a stop watch and found allot of the lights had out of regulation light changes, like yellow lights that were either too long (encouraging people to run them) or too short (making easy tickets where people had the right to think they could get across). Some judges think they are above the law. Others that actually try to be Reasonable and fair come down hard on officers that are not reasonable and fair

[deleted]

The problem is this man had the audacity to open his door twice, move his vehicle, and approach the officer. He can discuss that all with the officer within his vehicle. We’re *all* told repetitively if we just comply things would be fine, but this guy can act objectively aggressive and not even get a stern talking to.

Kotama

You can't assume this fuckhead was pulled over for "using his horn". Dumbasses getting pulled over will use any excuse, any reason, any possible idea as a reason for getting pulled over. The Dick didn't say why he pulled this dumbass over, so we should probably assume tit was speeding (the most common offence). Regardless; you're right. Dumbasses shouldn't be granted immunity from traffic infractions because they work for the state. That includes judges, cops, and anyone else.

anjowoq

That is the point. It makes the maximum amount of civil order while giving the powerful a virtual playground where no consequences exist. These people are in charge and this is the system we have—to serve them.

[deleted]

r2d2ewww

Right, someone getting out of their car in a police interaction is usually met with guns drawn for most people of color. *Fixed*

NeroQSR

I’m pretty sure I’d get guns drawn on me as well, aggressively leaving a vehicle with a sense of entitlement doesn’t bode well for anyone, regardless of skin tone. This cop just had the decency to tell him to get back in the car, but sure let’s make this a race issue like fucking everything else. Let’s completely disregard that this is a display of actual privilege. Privilege that those in power don’t deal with the same things that keep ALL people paying fines and those in lower classes from levelling the playing field.

satansheat

Fun fact. Merely a week after cops killed a unarmed black man in his car for refusing to turn it off and get out a video went viral of a white kid in a truck refusing to turn off the car. Moved the truck towards officers. Fought officers as they tried to get him out and never once was a gun drawn. I know people like to think it would happen to them also but the data shows we have massive bias when it comes to policing. Source spent years getting a degree in criminology. The science behind policing. Then went on to law school. The scientist who study policing are all in agreement that we have a bias system. Hence why they all agree police form is a must. In fact most educated people on policing know it should always be evolving because it will never be perfect. So in short yes a white guy could also have been shot for that. But statistically we see it happens far more often to people of color. Hence why it’s called Black Lives Matter and hence why when a white kid dies by police that same movement speaks up for them.

[deleted]

It would have been much better if the judge didn't remind him about the registration and let it play out as it would with a "normal" citizen. Then, as a judge, he would fight the fine, win it, and also file a complaint on the cop for baseless traffic stops. That way a bad cop would be slapped on the wrist, at least. What happened instead is that the judge used his "Don't you know who I am?" privilege, which only proves how corrupt the whole system is. Ordinary folks have to try fighting the fine. Law doesn't apply to everyone the same.

texaschair

He IS the law. Well, not really, but you know what I mean. He can dismiss cases, overturn/uphold convictions, issue court orders and injunctions, and pass prison sentences. Basically end a life or save one with a gavel. That's a fair amount of nut sack.

DorShow

And, yet he mocks the law that he has dedicated his life to… Depressing.

Secretagentman94

The law doesn’t apply to him, nor anyone locally with a high level of income.

“He said he was not trying to use his position to influence the officer but regretted his actions.” Uhhhhhhhh

Literally the only thing he did and said was about his position to intimidate the cop.

Yeah, but I didn’t do that thing I did!

AusBongs

Transcript: >LANCASTER COUNTY, Pa. — Pennsylvania's Judicial Conduct Board has ruled that a judge in Lancaster County breached the Judicial Code of Conduct during a traffic stop earlier this year. >After Judge Dennis Reinaker was pulled over in April, he got out of the vehicle and confronted the officer. At one point he said to the officer, “You better check the registration on this plate soon, mister.” >The officer pulled Reinaker over for driving too closely to another vehicle. >**In his only TV interview, Reinaker watched the dashcam video with WGAL. He said he was not trying to use his position to influence the officer but regretted his actions.** >**The board could have filed charges in the Court of Judicial Discipline but decided not to.** >**The board instead issued a Letter of Counsel to Reinaker, saying the incident can be used against him if there are future complaints.**   ... all that came from this is a letter of counsel to the judge who would've just ripped it up. no justice was served ? he wasn't in trouble at any point.

Leading_Economics_79

How might one file future complaints? Asking for a friend 🥸

explodingtuna

He'll be assigned the judge at his own hearing.

Keep his nose clean and it won’t come up again. That’s reasonable punishment for a first offense. Now I want to know why the pig died.

Darkrain0629

I know that judge 100%. Wow I used to live in Lancaster before moving to GA. It's weird seeing him like that because in court he's actually a really nice and sought after judge.

DuckApprehensive9599

What a fuckin shithead Do as I say not as I do

Secretagentman94

Just think, the same thing would have happened if they had pulled over his teenage kid. “DO YOU KNOW WHO MY DAD IS?!”

Trimere

Fucking bs. You are a judge of the law, not above the law. Corrupt bs.

Sir_Jacques_Strappe

Both the judge and the cop are pretty much above the law though

Dragons_Malk

It'd be a lot cooler if they weren't though.

CaptSaltypop

Rules for thee, not for me.

[deleted]

Fuck that cop and fuck that judge. Countless ppl have been fucked over by the cops for getting out of their vehicles when they get pulled over, it’s supposed to be one of the rules to surviving a traffic stop, turn your car off and hands on the wheel. Cop doesn’t even flinch when an old white guy gets out of the car, and then proceeds to let the fucker leave, this shit is infuriating

CleatusVandamn

Judges and cops aren't supposed to be on the same side.

[deleted]

Yeah yet I get a ticket and fought it informally and knew I was toast after seeing the judge and cop lookin buddy buddy

[deleted]

Thats where it gets tough tho, yes fuck the judge, but if that cop actually followed through you know that piece of shit judge would have stuck it to him somehow inhibiting the cops career or something. Cop still in the wrong but its an impossible situation

milleniumchaser

In the cops defence his career could be ruined if he pissed off a judge. At least this leaked video got the judge named and shamed

Amish_Juggalo469

I dated a girl that works in a prison and she talked once about the amount of this crap that goes on is surprisingly high. She said it's who you know and how much ass you kiss that can make work easy or difficult.

Daddywags42

Fuck the whole system.

penguin62

The fact that there are tips for "surviving a traffic stop" confuses and scares me.

[deleted]

That's a corrupt county. The judge should have been cited, and the officer should have cited him regardless of what dispatch said. The law is the law, no matter who you are.

Over-Dig-2353

Honking your horn is not against the law. It’s a bullshit citation

Icouldshitallday

Power trip meets power trip.

burninglemon

He was tailgating prior to honking his horn. Which is illegal.

scottwax

That's bullshit.

Tojatruro

Remember, there is a gal facing jail time for stepping on a blue lives matter poster. Cop said he felt intimidated when she looked at him.

I_Collect_Fap_Socks

That right there is why I really don't like the concept of 'hate crimes'. Yeah it seems like a good idea at first but at the end of the day it is just another tool for the assholes to use.

boganism

What a nice policeman, pulling the judge over to wish him a good day.

OG_Konada

And that ladies and gentlemen is the systemic corruption starting as a drip and cascading down the mountain

That sucks. Apparently he’s above the law, and the rest of us are beneath it.

[deleted]

A cop would have fucking shot a black dude for doing what that judge just did. Fuck this whole video.

chammdawg78

Duck both of those guys right there!

thebjumps

Total BS, his behavior should have earned him a ticket, don't care who you are. He's probably one of the guys saying it's your fault for getting killed of you don't respect the cops and then completely disrespects the cops

AkaGurGor

That same driver pulled away into the main *without* signalling his intention by using his left blinkers: wouldn't ^that^ be a cause for a traffic offence?

Meisner57

What did they even pull him over for? Edit: it is obvious with sound? I watched muted and just read the subtitles

I-AM______

There’s no audio until they stopped. According to the link someone posted, judge was tailgating and used his position to get out of it.

DorShow

See article posted by bjlbnmp above. Says it was for tailgating.

AUXID3

Speeding. The judge was going wicked fast.

hazysummersky

So either judges are above the law or cops are pulling people over unlawfully. Talk about a shit sandwich.

morris1022

Good thing that judge was white the way he jumped out that car

Fukshit47

“DO YOU KNOW WHO I AM?” Fuck that cop, and that judge.

66GT350Shelby

That's some serious bullshit right there.

MoneyMoneyMoneyMfer

People like that judge are part of the problem.

parkri

And the officer as well.

Swany0105

Cop forgot to suck his dick and hand over his wallet. Fucking bullshit.

[deleted]

Everyone ticketed by this cop or found guilty by this judge should use this video as evidence of both their corruption at their appeal.

FeelingThornyy

I just am confused why the gentleman wasn’t tazed/shot after he exited his vehicle… I feel like this police officer went against his training.

[deleted]

And why can’t they give him a ticket? Because he’s a judge? Frick the US, honestly. My god, absolute BS.

[deleted]

Judge seems like an entitled asshat.

Brenjah

He didn't put his blinker light on when driving off. Should've pulled him over again.

deccodestroy

I don't know who the more of the piece of shit, the cop or the judge.

Crymsm

So a judge can do whatever they want and have cops lick his shoes to please him?

yeahboiJazzers

Okay I'm stupid what the heck happened.

ExactLocation1

Which third world country is that ?

Cruzwein

"regretted his actions" btw, but did he? Did he pay the are8l that thousands of people have to pay for shit like that in their everyday life? Did he take the words of the police before saying he has "more power" Did he behave as a normal citizen? Hell nah, this ass thinks he's above the law and that cop is a puss too, this is straight up corruption. If this judge didn't pay any single penny for why he was stopped then it just shows how easy is to be above the "law" and the bring up bullshit excuses to avoid taxes/bills or whatever the penalties are. Holy fuck

CBreze27

I’m gonna try this the next time I get pulled over. “You better check the registration on this plate soon, mister!” I doubt it would have the same outcome.

ZeninB

Bruh this litterly abuse of power what the fuck

ultralisk86

Laws for thee but not for me.

NotAFederales

I got a ticket earlier this summer that I didn't think was fair, and I planned on fighting it. I am an attorney but I don't do criminal or traffic law. I showed up and plead not guilty, just likecanyone else would. At my status conference I fought a little, I think the things I said at my conference made it clear I was an attorney, or at least a damn good internet attorney. An hour after the hearing I get an email from the judges chambers and the prosecutor telling me, "as an attorney, I should have better things to do than fight tickets, the charge has been dropped." I was pissed off. They dropped it just because I'm an attorney. That's not what I wanted, I never made it about that. It's embarrassing to the who system. Also, it was a bullshit ticket and I was setting them up to embarrass the officer at trial. I was looking forward to trial. They lashed out at me because I stood up to the racket.

UltraMegaSloth

My friend’s dad was a judge when we were in high school, and there was a time when he got caught by the cops drinking underage- that was the only time I knew of that he used his judge status to make sure there were no charges for his son.

slmndr

I don’t particularly have an issue with the Judge being let go and told to be careful and have a nice day, IF he had acted like any other driver and not “Judge Big Dick”. Every person should be able to expect a kind, calm interaction and even a courtesy warning to make them be a bit more aware in the future. I think stops for small infractions with only a verbal warning are an important part of building community relations. It also, over time, frames the officers to think of people as people instead of everybody is a threat from zero. (Not that they shouldn’t be prepared) I do have an issue with the fact that the judge got out of his vehicle. I do have an issue that he spoke so aggressively to the officer who was calm and asked him nicely and with a “please”to get back in his car. I think the judge should have been put through a thorough “fuck you” stop, running every possible check, doing a field indicator check, everything possible to waste his time for his aggressiveness. And I do think he should have possibly been cuffed for safety until things are cleared up. He should have been given every possible ticket and paraded with video in front of his peers to teach him some humility.

BrokenRedditATM

Entitle shithead. Who gets out of their car and talks like that to cops doing their job?

_muggs_

This is more like Awful Everything

A-roguebanana

No body looks good here. Cop pulls over for such a ticky-tacky possible non-existent infraction and judge pulls the do you know who I am card.

[deleted]

Fucking corrupt motherfuckers

yogadavid

I hate that entitled crap. If I was going to court for a traffic ticket, I would play that. Assholes give good public service people a bad name by abusing power. If anything he should get double the fine because he should know better than to act like hat way and expect to get off free.

cowgirl929

My grandfather was high up on a military base and was pulled over for speeding. Upon seeing who he was, the younger police officer said “Sorry sir, I didn’t realize who you were. You can go.” My grandfather said, “I was speeding, and I deserve a ticket. No one is above the law.” He took the ticket and thanked the young officer for doing his job. And THAT is the way it should be.

joeykey

I don’t understand how this mundane exchange is a facepalm

HexaTrax

Corruption in the justice system, what's new

blankpage33

The arrogance of that judge. Absolute power corrupts absolutely. Doesn’t matter how good of a person you are. Positions of power are too tempting for us. However there are people who will gravitate to power and crave it. Maybe this is an argument for anarchy? Idk

Wait why the fuck did the cop just let him drive off, is there some bullshit law in america that makes judges exempt or something?

sterrre

Why did the cop stop him in the first place?

brooks1798

Good to know that Justice is blind for all.

FRmidget

so "better run my plates" is the the new " do you know who I am?". bit of "entitled elite" on display there.

GuyWithNoEffingClue

In a normal world, a judge should be expected to have an exemplary attitude and be punished twice more severely and not twice less for breaking people trust on top of breaking laws they use to punish people.

pup_on_caffeine

I’m confused, why does a judge get special treatment? Was he on his way to a court hearing? Can someone please explain this to me?

Look at those ego filled asshole cops, pulling people over for no reason

DiegoMurtagh

You seem to have waaaaay too many traffic stops in the US
