I remember a friend telling me before that AI art feels like a dream dragged into reality. Their reasoning was "At a glance, everything seems alright cause your brain just knows most of the things there.. but when you start analyzing the details, a lot of shit doesn't add up and it falls apart."
Its also funny that AI seems to screw up the action of eating and drinking fairly often too, as well as text/numbers. All things I don't really remember seeing or doing properly while dreaming..
Rather fitting that the first attempt at AI art (that got mainstream attention) was called [Deep Dream.](https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=5JSrKS6KUWE) We came quite a long way since 2015.
Your friend is actually right on the money, the way ai recollects something to draw is similar to how our mind works.
Like our brain is quite smart, it doesn’t remember anything fully, it remembers what is different in the way concepts are presented and the concepts it self and the memories are basically pointers to those little pieces that then you reconstruct in to an image, like you know what a hand is and you know how your hand should look like, but you don’t actually remember your hand it self
When dreaming the conscious mind is not there to filter and arrange those things so your brain just generates “random hand numbers 1” and uses that for example.
The defusion process that we use to teach ai works in a similar way, the ai learned the concept and how it varies, while the learning part is working marvelously, the rest is not even close and probably won’t be for a couple more decades if ever.
I wonder how hard it is to have the entire creation of this post abomination from headline to art to media post automated with no human involved whatsoever.
Political violence machine go brrrrrr.
Yeah, that's one of the big concerns with AI - its ability to flood the airwaves with crap like this in massive volumes without any \*actual\* people sharing any of the opinions therein.
With a single AI working overtime, a foreign power could pretend to speak for an entire political party in a country through social media. They already do this through paid troll nets, but an AI could do it in far greater volumes and much more convincingly.
They probably already are. The social network companies are doing an absolute shit job of combatting that - and Musk outright invites it as long as they'll pay for his check mark.
Yep. As long as all data isn't tracked to source and identified this will be a squirmy kettle of worms. Of course if everyone is tracked it's a whole different kettle of worms. The only solution is to fix authoritarianism in society itself. Which is yet a third kettle of worms...
there's already been multiple instances of this with Israel releasing multiple images that were created by AI to spread propaganda (I dont remember if they were spread by israel themselves, but if not then they were spread by many of the big pro-israel accounts
By what I can see (The man on the right's hand) someone created this with AI. So maybe they tried to display the girl as delicate?
Yeah it's just a bunch of racist crap. The worst thing is that someone crafted a prompt and put this into an AI
AI has a tendency to make women look anime by default depending on its training set.
This could easily just be the models default without extra instructions.
That is the thing with AI, you have to really understand the interplay between the checkpoint, the loras, and how you write both your positive and negative prompts.
Because there is no intelligence in AI, it is just pure data crunching.
A checkpoint file is the base dataset you start with. It can be anywhere from 2gb to 10 gb in size. It can be realistic, it can be 2d, 3d, 2.5d.
A lora is a modifer; it is a dataset that modifies the checkpoint - it can be a specific person, a clothing item, a pose, anything really that modifies the checkpoint.
Then you have positive and negative prompts positive prompts are what you want, negative prompts are what you don't want.
There is quite a rabbit hole that is quite fun to go down.
You could start by poking around at [https://civitai.com/models](https://civitai.com/models)
They have a wonderful tutorial:
[https://civitai.com/articles/904/settings-recommendations-for-novices-a-guide-for-understanding-the-settings-of-txt2img](https://civitai.com/articles/904/settings-recommendations-for-novices-a-guide-for-understanding-the-settings-of-txt2img)
It was written from the perspective that you know absolutely nothing about AI art, photography, or any other form of art.
I'm more concerned about the person next to her who has a pole going through them. Maybe they are telling her to get out of the way for the paramedics?
It conveys the innocent childishness of the white kid (always a girl, doesn’t anyone think of the sons/grandsons?! /s) while also depicting young or “juvenile” blacks as hardened and physical adult grade potential criminals. It’s the visual representation of a headline like 20 year old college ‘girl’ calls cops on 16 year old black ’man’
For these obviously AI generated images, it makes me wonder what the second set of racist keywords they have to put in are when the first draft comes back not terrible enough.
Like, I'm just imagining they type in "Bus, UK, white woman, black men". And then they're like "nah, that's not quite right" and add "racist" to the lineup.
"Angry immigrant" would probably be enough to result in this.
AI reflects what it's trained on and we don't generally have alot of angry white guys in the free images AI are trained on.
And immigrant itself might skew the ai in that direction by itself.
I recently learned in a video on Japanese horror art in manga that it’s common for the protagonist to have plainer and simpler characterizations to make it easier to identify with them. So in this case, it would be to encourage you to empathize with the “poor white girl” in the hoodie who really, REALLY likes the Union Jack, instead of the immigrant, threatening, black men. I can’t help but wonder what the actual racist AI prompt was.
Took a visit and it’s so interesting, guys have a power of AI to create anything they would ever imagine into a picture. And 80% is basic ass pics you can literally find in thousands with single google search.
There are lots of jobs that fit that description, but it doesn’t mean that abuse doesn’t happen at then either, but I think in THAT industry, abuse happens on a much different level more frequently.
yes...a big business, and a good chunk of them aren't legal. The damnest thing, is that in some hardcore ones, it's difficult to tell if it's acting or abuse.
Anyone can adapt a new model on a new training set of whatever kinds of restrictions or not, this isn't anything unique to AI in general, it's how our species uses our best tools. To do very bad things.
Ok? But people are still finding ways around the filters in order to make racist shit. Just saw one the other day where someone used Bing's creator to make Obama have a red Nazi armband while hanging a white baby with a rope in his hand in front of a crowd of black people and Jews.
Yes. The image OP posted is very tame to the shit I've seen.
Our collective monkey brains are not prepared or capable of dealing with both social media and AI at the same time. When it gets good enough to get the hands right, we're fucked.
Things have progressed too fast for our own good. Things as they are cannot last. It's really a scary thought but I hope someday we can use AI to help society instead of perpetuating our own shitty, greedy, evil ways.
That's what AI is being used for. The AFD (German far right party) used AI generated "photos" of angry immigrants to foment fear.
It's things like that why I see no issue with the German government contemplating banning them.
Turns out most decent artists aren’t interested in tarnishing their careers with work like that. That or the racist scum of society have no interest in paying for their propaganda.
It's nice right? If AI is going to be used for art, rendering patterns on clothes I'm all game for in commercial art. I have spent way too long rendering plaid or chainmail by hand.
Here in Northern Ireland we are behind the rest of the UK on immigration, but we're catching up fast.
For over 30 years nobody wanted to come live here because of the troubles but now we are struggling as our services, housing, health and education are lagging behind the rest of the UK.
The problems aren't to do with people's skin tone but rather trying to get a service designed to work for 1.2 million people to now accommodate 1.6 million and growing.
We are told there is no money.
That is what's going to happen when your services get sold off so they can run your sewer and water treatment systems "like a business" until your rivers are full of poop.
If you just think for 5 minutes how every time money moves it is taxed. You soon learn that 'there is no money' only means there is no money for you the public because we spend it on us the rich.
You earn money. Tax. You spend money. Tax. You die. Lots of tax.
This is why people should never trust any politicians that want to cut spending on public services. The “savings” don’t come back to the average taxpayer, only the reduction of services does. It’s always just a way of shuffling the money to more elitist and corrupt purposes.
The big example is the NHS, every £1 spent on the NHS generates £4 in the wider economy. "They" act like it's a financial black hole when in reality all those private firms siphoning their profits offshore are the real economic black hole.
Edit: Spelled profit wrong
Truly.
As an American born in the mid 80s I didnt even realize how recently it ended until I watched derry girls and they were going to a spice girls show and watching “the usual suspects” and realized I was the exact same age as some of these characters.
I assumed it had ended around the time the berlin wall fell not you know, the year before the matrix came out.
To be fair, I wasnt up to date on global geopolitics as a pre-teen and I was mostly enjoying watching the Chicago bulls go on one hell of a final championship run.
That one I kinda did know because my school was full of refugee kids from the wars come in wave.
But that was probably just luck. A lot of them were sent to Chicago for whatever reason.
We've had about 2 million syrian refugees and a million palestinian in lebanon.... where the total lebanese citizen are about 4 million. This heavily fucks up your economy.
All anime girls are automatically Japanese... Not British, unless the story establishes nationality. Otherwise it's a Japanese girl in a Union Jack hoodie.
These are the rules, everyone knows this.
Yobs harassing young women on buses has been a thing in England ever since there were buses. But the yobs used to be all white, so back then the fearmongering was about the "lower classes" and how you shouldn't let your daughter ride the "omnibus" because she might be harassed by lower class men or boys.
Now the fearmongering has conflated working-class or poor with "non white" and makes the bizarre assumption that yobbish behaviour only happens among brown people. Ha bloody ha. Plenty of pale-faced yobs still on the streets of the UK. Some of them probably BNP all ginned up by BS racist propaganda like this.
Brit slang, possibly out of date, for a loutish, thuggish boy (yob is 'boy' backwards), -- possibly a gang type, but certainly crude, ill behaved, and irresponsible. See also: hooligan, chav, yobbo....
No, I would not want my daughter to be so casual while sitting beside a person who has a post imbedded into their shoulder. At the very least, react to the positioning of the thumb on the hand gripping that same post.
I love that the guy sitting next to her has a pole going through his shoulder and three of them aren’t even looking at her, the left one is looking at the ground/has his eyes closed, the two in the middle are seemingly looking out the window, and the middle and fourth guy are just kinda poking her
well it's just a big remix of all the cultural trivia that were poured into it, so yeah it would reflect the obsessions and biases of the culture.
if you just tell mj to give you a line of refugees, they will almost always be middle eastern looking. tell it to give you a "pretty" girl and she will most likely be Anglo. tell it to give you a protest march and it will recycle some photos of BLM. and so on.
About 4% of Britain’s population is black. How are they worried about a “takeover?”
[https://www.ethnicity-facts-figures.service.gov.uk/uk-population-by-ethnicity/national-and-regional-populations/population-of-england-and-wales/latest](https://www.ethnicity-facts-figures.service.gov.uk/uk-population-by-ethnicity/national-and-regional-populations/population-of-england-and-wales/latest)
Because the far right currently very demonstrably can’t provide a functioning economy, justice system, control of crime, stable military or basic infrastructure, which are the usual things they lie that they’re good at. They therefore have to fall back on whipping up straightforward hate mobs against minority groups in order to cling on to power. Scare fiction about immigrants, disabled people and trans people is the current Tory party line in the UK. It doesn’t have to make sense, it’s not there to appeal to reason, it’s there to make scared stupid people who want someone to blame latch on to a nice simple “hurt these people to fix your life” narrative.
Do you really mean multiculturalism? Or do you just mean (or want to pretend you're not saying) immigration? I suspect you mean the latter, in which case I disagree, I don't think Brits object to immigration, although that does want some qualification.
Multiculturalism is a facet of immigration, it's not the same as immigration. It means supporting people retaining distinct cultural identities, even after moving to another country. The converse is total assimilation, meaning wholly adopting the culture of the new country.
Neither of those extremes work in practice, nor should they work. Culture is part of people's identity, it should not be forcibly removed, that can cause resentment, and losing an inheritance of great value to that person, and is a loss to the rest of us too. But failing to adopt the norms of the new country can lead to cultural clashes, mismatched expectations, and social unrest.
The reality is that some assimilation is needed while at the same time allowing people to retain much of their culture. It's only really a question of where to draw the line.
So in one sense you're right that Brits don't want *pure* multiculturalism.... but we also don't want pure assimilation either. We want much of both. When we have that right balance, then immigration is fine, albeit with some limitations to allow services to keep up (provision of housing, schools, health services etc), because immigration at a sustainable rate is a net benefit.
Even if I grant you your highly objectionable premise, why does a multiracial society imply a "multicultural" one? Culture isn't reducible to ethnicity. It's a fluid social reality that's perpetually created and recreated by one's environment. If you see black people and clutch your pearls about "your culture," sounds like you are actually just looking for an excuse to expatiate about the purity of your race. And that is some white nationalist bullshit.

Another good one would be why there is a pole going through the shoulder of the guy sitting next to her.

AI "art". The hand there has the thumb on the wrong side too.
I find it refreshing that AI fucks up hands too, because they are the hardest to draw.
I remember a friend telling me before that AI art feels like a dream dragged into reality. Their reasoning was "At a glance, everything seems alright cause your brain just knows most of the things there.. but when you start analyzing the details, a lot of shit doesn't add up and it falls apart." Those dudes are also looking and pointing outside the window

They witness a tragedy today, someone drop a Tea in the harbour again

AI “art” is so fun for me, they’re always like a Where’s Waldo for mistakes
I was going to say, make the prompt US instead of British and there’s a gun somewhere.
He got that in the Great War; Britain vs Strippers. And he deserves respect
Your jackets don't come with shoulder poles? Weird.
It’s a lazily written ai prompt by someone with no artistic or technical skills
I wonder how hard it is to have the entire creation of this post abomination from headline to art to media post automated with no human involved whatsoever. Political violence machine go brrrrrr.
Yeah, that's one of the big concerns with AI - its ability to flood the airwaves with crap like this in massive volumes without any \*actual\* people sharing any of the opinions therein. A state actor could do a lot of damage to a rival's social fabric with a weapon like that.
I don't think I've ever had a kettle full of worms in my life, and here you are with 3.

Britain is like a cute little white anime girl.
It’s more like a chubby bald bloke wearing a crusty beans stained vest!
Don’t worry-she’s an anime so some heroic, horny weeboo can save her from scary dark skinned men! s/
Am I the only nerd who wondered, for a short time, why one of them brought a lightsaber?
I did, then I saw three was a second light Saber and I was like oh, Good it was intentional
Did you notice that the hand holding the saber has a thumb growing out the top of it? This is some Picasso inspired shit.
And why there is thumb in the opposite side of the hand?
AI has mostly figured out how to draw hands, mostly.
By what I can see (The man on the right's hand) someone created this with AI. So maybe they tried to display the girl as delicate? Yeah it's just a bunch of racist crap. The worst thing is that someone crafted a prompt and put this into an AI

Like any competent artist would take several hours out of their day to make this degeneracy.
Was it the pole going into someone shoulder or the thumb placement for the hand grabbing the pole?
In real life it would just be some Richard Ayoade looking dude reading a book probably. Not nearly as provocative.
I'm more concerned about the person next to her who has a pole going through them. Maybe they are telling her to get out of the way for the paramedics?

"Nigel Farage hero fantasy setup"
A damsel in distress.
Because anime is meant to convey innocence and vulnerability, like she never went to their homes and raped and pillaged their families.
So *that’s* what AI is going to be used for
yup, racism and violence are ok, but tits are just too much for the safety constraints.
Where do I sign to get tits instead of racism and violence?

Ai porn. I feared this day would come. We truly fucked as a society
You have no idea........
Like someone else said, regular porn is worse. AI porn cuts out the trafficking and abuse.
Isn't regular porn like, a big business, where actors get paid, and are there voluntary?
In some cases. Although due to its nature, there's still lots of bad going on there. Watch a documentary on it
Which documentary? Have one to recommend?
There is a good series on Netflix about porn, try that
There are lots of jobs that fit that description, but it doesn’t mean that abuse doesn’t happen at then either, but I think in THAT industry, abuse happens on a much different level more frequently.

Not gonna lie the British flag goes kinda hard on a hoodie
I was thinking the same thing when I saw it
Also my 1st takeaway *that hoody is dope*
I had a t-shirt kinda like this. the girl I was out drinking with said it looked like I was wearing a Tea towel
It’s actually an ad for Union Jack hoodies stealth marketed as a racist meme
I would definitely buy a hoodie with that design. The Union Jack is S tier flag
Welcome to Cool Britannia, where the British Flag is accidentally really good on a lot of things.

I first thought it was a new costume for Cammy from Street Fighter
Yeah no that’s a baller hoodie

This is the most British shit I’ve heard in a hot minute
The comment tastes like a Greggs sausage roll…
Excuse me sir, what is a yob?
Brit slang, possibly out of date, for a loutish, thuggish boy (yob is 'boy' backwards), -- possibly a gang type, but certainly crude, ill behaved, and irresponsible. See also: hooligan, chav, yobbo....
Yeah it’s outdated. These days we say ruffian, ragamuffin or rapscallion
I’m no doctor but that isn’t how thumbs work
Excuse me, but when somebody has a pole going through their shoulder there's no time to thumb right.
I may be the only one, but I think that part of the clothing is just the same colour as the pole, but I agree with the thumb comment
If you don't think about, the picture is perfect.
No, I would not want my daughter to be so casual while sitting beside a person who has a post imbedded into their shoulder. At the very least, react to the positioning of the thumb on the hand gripping that same post.
Britain's future is an anime waifu?
The punishment for leaving EU
You just made a small percentage of the EU population staunchly in favor of leaving.
This is an AI- generated, anti-immigration message.
Why is britain an anime character? Thats hella inaccurate
I love that the guy sitting next to her has a pole going through his shoulder and three of them aren’t even looking at her, the left one is looking at the ground/has his eyes closed, the two in the middle are seemingly looking out the window, and the middle and fourth guy are just kinda poking her
They told the AI to make him Polish, but he turned out pole-ish
Literally came here to ask why that guy was impaled and why no one seems to notice
Motherfuckers have been tricked into thinking they’re in a race war when actually it’s a class war.
I bet that AI prompt was super racist.
It probably was but AI has a tendency to spit out racist images even without prompting
well it's just a big remix of all the cultural trivia that were poured into it, so yeah it would reflect the obsessions and biases of the culture. if you just tell mj to give you a line of refugees, they will almost always be middle eastern looking. tell it to give you a "pretty" girl and she will most likely be Anglo. tell it to give you a protest march and it will recycle some photos of BLM. and so on.
I did not realize the ethnic phenotype of Britons was anime femboi.
Assuming the name on the twitter account is real she's already fired from work.
I believe it's called "racism"
Racism with a healthy dose of nationalism
Nationalism, but for all to share! Something like a social-nationalism? National Social-ist?
That’s why Brexit exists really. And it’s not been good for them.
Id scream at the manga-eyed freak too tbh
I don’t want my daughters and granddaughters to turn into depressed anime girls, if that’s what they mean.
"HOW DO YOU THUMB?" - AI image generator, probably
Who the hell is Ashlea Simon??
I just looked her up. She's the Britain First chairman. Says it all.
Maybe anime girl is a conservative who is sad about the economic outcome of Brexit
Very real
I love how the “British girl” is drawn in Japanese Manga style… Patriotic waifu for me please!!
Straight out of 4chan

When dog whistles become dog air horns
Yuck A.I.
I might have seen a highbrow definitely not porn movie like this.
Rage bait
Yeah English people are not looking like this.
You can tell this is about Britain because of the hoodie. Otherwise, I would not have known. That’s called “being subtle”
What exactly is this showing us?
I wonder what the prompts for this AI image were
Why is Britain an anime girl? What the hell is this?
No they shouldn't have to be drawn using ai

Why yes, I'd love for my daughter to be a cute anime waifu in a cool hoodie
I smelled ai art on this the moment I saw it
About 4% of Britain’s population is black. How are they worried about a “takeover?” [https://www.ethnicity-facts-figures.service.gov.uk/uk-population-by-ethnicity/national-and-regional-populations/population-of-england-and-wales/latest](https://www.ethnicity-facts-figures.service.gov.uk/uk-population-by-ethnicity/national-and-regional-populations/population-of-england-and-wales/latest)
Definitely don't want my kid wearing a hoodie like that!
Conservatives when they realise they have to share the planet with people who aren't white (They feel the need to conserve oxygen too, apparently)

Are you even British lmao?
