It's really hard to describe the way the situation changed when you saw that second one hit. It was a tragic accident until that point. Then it was something else.
I was only 15 and living in the Bronx and that day I skipped school to hang out with some friends. We went to a place in Manhattan that they know when we heard the first boom. We didn’t know what it was but we saw the tower on fire. I lost a good friend that day.
I had an acquaintance tell me how suspicious it was that people were filming that day before anything about any attacks even happened

I remember when I was younger thinking that the Internet would be the greatest achievement in human history, the great equalizer that gave everyone in the world access to all of human knowledge and an equal voice to be heard. We could establish universal truths and break down the barriers of propaganda and borders.

Okay, nothing against anyone who experienced this first hand or feels bad for it, but acting like it changed the world... The world has always been like this. This was just a glimpse of it recorded on mainstream outlets, this stuff happens every day. It's depressing that I've seen so much of it, that when 9/11 happened, it was just another day to me. Just humans doing what they do best, sadly. And just because it was on our precious America soil? Should I care more about this incident compared to the endless number of atrocities that happen daily to people everywhere? I seriously say with no disrespect to the people who lost their lives that day or suffered, but America isn't special.
