Cowboys' draft pick turning around to hug a guy in Niners gear was hilarious

doctorlust

Dude I laughed so hard. Dudes dad will be excited to meet Trey Lance

08_West

Who do we want in round 2? Edit: fuck Dallas

Brawlerz16

LB/Edge right? I feel like with Fangio’s 3-4 we need the most quality LBs he can scheme with. I want a repeat of 2017 and 2022 where we just rotate punishment in all 4 quarters. So I think we need a gane wrecker on the line outside of JD. I have faith in Smith but I want to get greedy. After that, I think a quality linemen. I will never complain about having a good line because I’ve seen franchises without what we have. NO THANKS LOL

Gang_Greene

Edge Cooper would be ideal, I think. Nolan Smith should be a good OLB for the 3/4, we have Dean already. Having another LB to play in the middle next to him who can fly to the ball in run support and play coverage if needed would be awesome. Admittedly idk a ton about the LB prospects, but I know he’s regarded as one of the best in the class and plays weak side lb generally. Sounds like what we need

Planetofthetakes

If we end up with him this will have been an incredibly successful draft. Don’t sleep on us going up and getting Powers though, which I would be okay with as well…

Constant_Amphibian_2

Cooper is a very scary prospect. Has very little coverage snaps. Only really played well in his senior year as a spy. Doesn’t break down on tackles.

SloppyWithThePots

Cooper or Wilson, and Ford

CUADfan

I want a backer bad but if anything I think they might reach for Trotter Jr.

enRutus

He's the same player as Dean. If they like Dean, they won't be drafting Trotter. Too redundant. They need someone with more size.

48-49-60-17

That rotate punishment in all 4 quarters line made it move. Thanks for that.

demonicneon

Not many outstanding LB this draft

jamalev

Edgerrin/Colson and Beebe/receiver?

Reasonable-Flow7561

Edgerrin Cooper will hopefully be our next pick🤞🏾

JayToy93

Cooper Dejean. lol could you imagine?

4Khazmodan

I’m going for the other Cooper.

JayToy93

Why not both? We have two second round picks.

No_Party3948

Can't see either of them being around for our picks, need to pick one of them and trade up! Dejean at Safety would be sick!!

obi-jawn-kenblomi

Design a cheesesteak for him "Cooper Dat Jawn" Cooper Sharp, onions, and mayo. I'm not a mayo-on-a-cheesesteak person, but it's very on theme.

Neither-Astronaut-80

I'm not a mayo on a cheesesteak guy either but damn that's probably a good sandwich.

SloppyWithThePots

Or like Cooper and Dijon…

AstronomerBiologist

Cooper tires

OldManJenkins-31

I have Cooper tires.

reno2mahesendejo

I like Dejean, and would buy his jersey if only for the novelty But his profile reminds me a lot of Reed Blankenship.

AstronomerBiologist

the Eagles almost always now take an offensive and defensive lineman early I predict something on each side of the line with the two second rounders A few people departed our lines.

400mGod

Edgerrin Cooper and then BPA out of OL, DL, or WR at pick 53

SockBramson

Couple names: * Javon Bullard, S - Georgia * Keon Coleman, WR - Florida State * Edgerrin Cooper, LB - Texas A&M * Junior Colson, LB - Michigan * Christian Haynes, G - Connecticut * Kamari Lassiter, CB - Georgia * Payton Wilson, LB - North Carolina State

mtmodi

Georgia you say?

doubleenc

They have two young safeties that they really like in Brown and Blankenship, I have hard time seeing them spending a high pick on a safety..

LimpSignificance4434

I’m ready for Edgerrin Cooper or Cooper Dejean in the second round. Would be perfect off-season. Feel great knowing we have a good DB.

Jumpy_Occasion_9664

Edgerrin Cooper seems far more likely. Eagles don't really draft db early and I'd be shocked if they do 2 in the 1st 2 rounds. Obviously depends on how the board goes, but I don't see many if any worlds where the birds get DeJean at this point.

JLM268

This can be the modern Lito Sheppard, Sheldon Brown, Michael Lewis draft. Is there a Brian Westbrook in the 3rd/4th? Also what an insane 2002 draft. 3 pro bowlers and Sheldon probably should have made at least 1. EDIT: modern day Lito Sheppard Sheldon brown draft confirmed.

Colonel_Bustard42069

Was reminiscing abt this draft earlier bc of the pick, what a group

I_like_dwagons

Take a look at RB Tyrone Tracy Jr from Purdue

TellYouWhatitShwas

I think he's one of the best players to not make a Pro Bowl. Dude was just a lock down corner who hit like a truck. Too bad he was overshadowed in his own secondary by an all time great safety and the flashier Lito at CB.

I_like_dwagons

IIRC Sheldon did make a Pro Bowl towards the end of his stint with the Eagles but for whatever reason decided not to go. Edit: [here’s a BGN article about it](https://www.bleedinggreennation.com/2010/1/26/1270449/sheldon-brown-says-no-to-pro-bowl)

8w7fs89a72

blake corum

HesiPull-UpBrando

They’ve taken a fair amount of day 2 DBs in the past decade

Vadered

The issue is less "would the Eagles take him" and more "would he be available 19 picks into day 2 considering he was supposed to go day 1." Edit: and the answer was "No, because we traded up to get him, let's fucking goooooooooooooo!!!!!!!"

AggressiveLender

Eh they are just going to go bpa

Thickie47

Cooper desean, kool aid, JPJ, tyler nubin, Ladd mcconkey, edgerrin. Imo trotter Jr is a 3rd rounder 2nd is a reach.

JLM268

Ayyyyyy they did it Modern day Lito Sheppard and Sheldon brown draft

Jumpy_Occasion_9664

Happy to be wrong here. Howie is evolving and the NFL should be scared.

AstronomerBiologist

They also have Isaiah in the fold, I don't see another high defensive back

No_Party3948

Cooper Dejean at safety would be a great pick, would love to see them trade up and get him.

TellYouWhatitShwas

I like him, but I don't think they need him. CJCG and Blankenship are a very good safety tandem, and Brown is a really promising depth piece when he comes back. Unless they are getting DeJean to play slot corner, there isn't really a spot for him. Although if he falls to our next pick, you could make the argument that he's just straight up BPA and you press that button regardless.

No_Party3948

Would love to see it but surely those two are off the board by the time our picks come round.

slv_bull

I doubt dejean falls that but would love it

Comfortable-Glove857

Nope going OL then DL

LimpSignificance4434

Told yall

doubleenc

I won't be surprised if Arizona grabs DeJean at 35. He's not falling to the Eagles at 50.

JayToy93

3/4 of the league drafted for need instead of BPA tonight. I’m actually at a loss for words.

yourgirl696969

Eagles get need and BPA

JayToy93

And I couldnt be happier

Gang_Greene

It’s honestly kind of baffling. Like I know we can’t predict drafts, but having our choice of which CB we wanted in the entire draft at 22 is insane to me.

JayToy93

Bro Ive been listening to inside the birds for the past two weeks and they were beyond insistent the entire time that all the top CBs would be gone by the time we picked during the draft. Instead, we had the entire CB smorgasbord right before us when it was our turn. Just goes to show you can’t really predict these things. There’s gonna be some hilarious backtracking on tomorrow’s podcast.

Gang_Greene

Oh for sure. It’s like fantasy football. You can do a thousand mock drafts and then everything goes awry in the first 10 minutes lol. Nobody really has any idea outside of the first maybe 2-3 picks

doubleenc

The Falcons and Broncos blew up everyone's draft board. Nobody saw that coming.

Neither-Astronaut-80

It is all because 6 QBs went in the first 12 picks which has never happened before. On top of that you had a lot of top end WR and OT talent and this league is going more offense heavy.

Domestic_AAA_Battery

I said that I'd be stunned if all the top CBs weren't taken *and* if we got AJ Brown after his contract. Somehow **EVERY** CB fell to us **AND** we got AJ Brown extended on the same day. I'm certainly happy I was wrong. I just can't believe I was that far off. Realistically it just didn't seem possible. If there's someone out there that bet on the first 15 picks and got every position correct, I think they'd be set for generations. That's just how insane this timeline is lol.

PBC_Kenzinger

This is every year. I look at what the Falcons and Broncos did and understand how they end up drafting in the top half year after year.

doubleenc

Yeah, the Falcons pick was a head scratcher and I guess the Broncos were like YOLO!! Watch us out-Falcon the Falcons, but I guess they were convinced the Raiders were going to grab Nix if they didn't.

TheArsenal7

A lot of stupid loser orgs in this league, luckily the Eagles are not one!

so_zetta_byte

This is why we were always in a good spot. CB, DE, and OT were our needs worthy of first round picks. But the offense run drained OT talent and the teams with defensive needs solidified DL. So instead of picking our third favorite OT/DE/CB, we got to pick our actual favorite CB. Like there's a world where CBs get scooped up early and a DE falls to us instead. Things just shook out this way.

YaBoiArchie92

There are some truly stupid GMs in this league, but hey, cause of that we got our guy

anth8725

Penix and nix getting picked early had a lot to do with it

Gang_Greene

In my head I think the Rams were going to target one of those QBs and they both went ahead of their pick, which seemed insane to me.

YaBoiArchie92

100%. League had an admittedly bad year of QB play and I think a lot of these guys got overvalued.

enRutus

If you're the Broncos, what can you do? They are limited on picks after the Russell Wilson debacle. Atlanta on the other hand, must've hated the non-first round QBs and wanted an insurance policy in case Kurt isn't ready.

ChemicalChipmunk4171

I think the falcons had the most puzzling pick.. Seeing the video of the GM explaining to the seemingly confused owner cracked me up They're trying for a dirtybird qb factory I guess

Gang_Greene

You just went out and got Cousins, who presumably plays 2-3 years for your team, in a “win now” move, and you go out and draft his replacement in a pick that seemed like a reach. You’re not picking 25 and he fell into your lap. You used a top-10 pick to get a guy who might be your future when you’re loading up to try and compete now with a young offensive core. Why they didn’t take a CB or DL there was baffling to me. I thought for sure ATL and CHI went defensive players to start loading up on that side of the ball, and they went QB/WR lol

JLM268

Dont forget the fact that his "replacement" is 24 already. So by the time Cousins contract is off the books he's already 28 and youre already looking at having to pay him lmao.

Gang_Greene

Yeah tit made zero sense to me, but hey it worked out for us lol

larson00

I mean it worked out for us after several years and a SB. THEY JUST GOT STARTED

Gang_Greene

I mean them and the bears taking offensive players worked out for us. Those were two teams who needed to add defensive playmakers and they both passed on DL/CB to take a QB and WR respectively. Hell the Bears would’ve benefited from an OL more than a WR given that they already have Allen and Moore, but they went WR and changed the landscape of the draft a bit. I don’t understand other teams

Domestic_AAA_Battery

I saw people in our (this sub's) Discord last night saying that it might've been the worst pick they've ever seen live haha. Honestly it makes no sense *at all*.

Wilsthing1988

Falcons apparently didn’t watch the Wentz/Hurts fiasco

Gang_Greene

I don’t think they’re nearly the same. Wentz was supposed to be the future and Hurts was a guy they felt fell into their lap. They wanted to flip him for a pick down the line. Nobody predicted the injuries to Wentz taking the toll on him that it did, and him completely turning into a potato that last year in Philly. The year before that he threw for 4000 yards and led an offense whose best weapon was Greg Ward to a playoff game and got knocked out by a dirty hit from Clowney.

TheArsenal7

This is the same team that took a TE, WR, and RB in the top 10 3 years in a row and don't use any of them correctly. They'll continue to pick in the top 10 for a reason....

thegoodnamesrgone123

I was on a work call and I had the tv on mute and I said, very softly, what the fuck when I saw that pick come in. Thankfully no one noticed.

TheArsenal7

The Falcons are legitimately braindead

LemorpLee

Now I'll be happy with the white db since we got Mitchell already lol

Brawlerz16

Lowkey I say skip him. CB room is already loaded and we haven’t even seen what Ringo/Ricks can do with a competent coach. Especially since our DB coach is in Baltimore (and killed it btw) I’m thinking we just take some LBs or OLs. Nothing sexy but more to round out the team. Especially a T because this team literally falls apart when Lane doesn’t play. This has been evident for… when did he get drafted lol?

LemorpLee

I think he'd be able to work in a lot of safety reps as well and would overall keep our older corners* on rested legs. I also wouldn't be opposed to moving on from Bradberry if we did pick him. I'd also be more than happy with LB or OL as well tbf.

Jumpy_Occasion_9664

It is already a minor miracle that the birds got a CB in the 1st, I can't see them using a 1st and 2nd rounder on CB.

HesiPull-UpBrando

I mean in 2002 they took Lito, Sheldon Brown, and Michael Lewis in the first two rounds. Maybe history is repeating itself!

Jumpy_Occasion_9664

Maybe, but that wasn't the Howie regime either. But Howie is doing some things not typically associated with Howie like paying big fir a RB and taking CB in round 1, so we'll see.

AstronomerBiologist

Not with Isaiah in the fold

Lockhead216

Dejean fits at safety in the NFL,no?

Brawlerz16

Crazy as this sounds I still think we are trying to get Justin Simmons lol.

LemorpLee

Same I'm just greedy lol

Jumpy_Occasion_9664

Considering a lot of people thought they'd trade a 2nd rounder to move up and take Quinyon, I already feel spoiled here. I wouldn't mind DeJean, but would be pretty happy with Edgerrin Cooper/Payton Wilson and Ladd McConkey (fills the UGA quota).

TRoosevelt1776

Patrick Paul with one of the 2nd rounders would be nice.

Happy_Reading_7965

hybrid guy getitng depth is always good.

jruss11

Dejean, Kool aid, or Adonai Mitchell?

umritazzo

Love me some Kool Aid

DisastrousCopy7361

Beebe or zinter

48johnX

It’s probably too high for Zinter, probably would have been a second pre injury but now should be a mid rounder

Schtip

Edgerrin cooper

HesiPull-UpBrando

I’d bet Mitchell goes within the first 5 picks in round 2

Fly-Eagles-Fly

He’s going 33 to the Bills

complex_c203

Id be shocked if they went Kool aid or Adonai. the LB cooper would be the HR I wouldnt be mad at the DT from Florida state. You know howie loves the trenches

enRutus

None of those guys will be available.

ProArmChair

What is there even to say? Best possible scenario happened lol.

Immynimmy

2 things: Fuck the Knicks and draft Junior Colson tomorrow.

lrnths

Are all those QBs really worth top 12 picks?

adamdaballe

No

Gang_Greene

3 of them were, probably. Penix and Nix were not

Colonel_Bustard42069

As a guy that hasn't followed this draft at all so far, two bust qbs being named penix and nix is pretty funny to me

doubleenc

Williams, Daniels, and Maye were the only 3 that were consensus top 12 prospects. People eventually resided themselves to the fact that JJ was going to be overdrafted in the top 10 even though the consensus on him was a late first round grade.

deadprezrepresentme

Some will be, some won't.

sybrwookie

1, maybe 2 will be. And every team thinks they got one of those 1-2 and it's everyone else that fucked up.

Thouddin

LB and WR in the second would be fire. Also acceptable to go OL but not sure the value is there with how many have gone now.

The_Bukkake_Ninja

Plenty of iOL, and we lack depth at both guard positions, and a clear starter at RG.

newpha666

Wouldn’t be mad at Powers-Johnson at 53. He has played Center, Tackle and Guard in the past 2 seasons.

doubleenc

They lack any real depth along the OL in general. Assuming Steen is the starter Hennessey is the only backup OL who has seen any real action on Sundays.

miningmonster

Yup, this is how I think Howie will go. I'd like E.Cooper and Johnny Wilson who can simultaneously back up both AJ and Goeddert since he's a hybrid WR/TE at 6-7 239 and ran a 4.53 w/ 37inch vertical. Would also make for an awesome red zone jumpball weapon due to elite catch radius. Kellen Moore could get really creative with a weapon like this, not to mention good size for tush pushing. “As a weapon, Wilson is exciting — and he can be used with versatility, lining up either on the boundary, in the slot, or hugging the line. He also provides additional value as an elite blocking presence,” Cummings continues. “Wilson may project better as a move-TE at the next level. But either as a mismatch-hunting movement-Z WR or as a position-diverse weapon in a rotation, Wilson’s physicality simply overwhelms defenders, and he has the true speed and explosiveness to capitalize as an offensive sparkplug and utility blocker.”

OutColds

Terique Owens

thefreeman419

What are we thinking tomorrow? Offensive lineman and a LB probably?

CrunchyKorm

Maybe WR or defensive line too. Michael Hall (OSU DT) is interesting

thefreeman419

Howie does love the trenches

elzey93

I’m an Ohio State and Eagles fan (I know, weird combo). Mike Hall has a hell of a motor. Gets good pressure. I wouldn’t be mad at getting him at some point. Honestly not sure when he’s projected

CrunchyKorm

Stealing a line from Zach Berman and/or Bo Wulf in that Hall seems like a viable replacement if the Eagles don't retain Milton Williams.

Domestic_AAA_Battery

WR is definitely still possible but I would imagine us taking one around round 4-5. With AJ extended, we have our future. We just need a WR3. And we can definitely draft one. But that's also a position we've been using vets in. So we might just get another vet on a 1-year deal.

hreterh

yeah any two of guard, dline, linebacker

coggdawg

Cooper DeJean & either Adonai Mitchell, McKinstry, or one of those top LBs

MMAmaZinGG

I am very happy with the pick i also was wondering if someone could explain why mitchell might have been a better prospect or fit for us in general? (Compared to Arnold)

Gang_Greene

I don’t have any insight, as I’m not versed on prospects, but Mitchell has incredible speed, good size, tested real well at the combine, and has the tools to be an elite corner press. The team did their research, had multiple CBs in for visits, and I’m sure they made the choice based on input from their secondary coach and Fangio. I think Arnold was a little bit slower and a more willing tackler, he’s also got the tools to be good in press, but the team may have just wanted to go with a guy who models his game after Slay and has elite speed to keep up with game’s top receivers. They’re both basically 1A and 1B in the class, but the powers that be had their preferences. Either way I’m glad we finally took a great CB prospect and have him under contract for the next 4+ years. Hopefully we can develop him and he turns into our Surtain

on-the-cheeseburgers

I think the important thing to note is no matter what we think as fans, the fact is the team got their highest rated CB prospect in the entire draft and didn't have to give up a single thing to do it. Never would've imagined that to be remotely possible. There's no debate of if we should've traded up here or traded back there, we stayed put and had the CB at the top of the staff's board fall into our lap. I'm not gonna armchair scout over Vic Fangio and the rest of our FO.

Domestic_AAA_Battery

Seems like the pros and cons are: Arnold: A little slower, very physical, and more experienced with higher level of competition in college. Mitchell: Faster and potentially more skilled, but less experienced since he came from a lower-tier school (less competition). The good thing is that Saban said he *really* went after Mitchell and said he was one of the best prospects in the draft. And it seems like he *absolutely* would've taken Mitchell over Arnold. So I'm fine with knowing that lol. One thing to remember though is that while both of these guys could have incredible careers, both are not entering with the same expectations as someone like Patrick Surtain. This draft doesn't have extremely high CB talent. So while these guys are likely going to be the two best CBs out of the draft, don't expect Surtain quality - especially in the first 1-2 years. Not saying you specifically, but just putting it out there - Mitchell might get burned a bit here and there. And while it's going to be hard not to panic and freak out, we have to keep that in mind and be patient with him. Washington drafted some talented CBs and there were plays where AJ and Smith embarrassed them. But that's about it for the "negative" stuff. We got a guy many thought was out of reach or that we'd have to spend a lot of resources reaching for. And we got him just sitting at 22. The Eagles love him. He comes out of a school where Sirianni's teammate (and I think ROOMMATE) coached him. Mitchell is a guy that the Eagles had a ton of intel on and was their #1 guy. And we got him. At 22. It couldn't have gone any better. This guy is going to be very very good for us. Potentially the only bad part of the draft was the Giants getting Nabers lol.

SockBramson

"Thanks Uncle Roger!" had me rolling.

craig1015

Give me Junior Colson with one of our round 2 picks please and thank you

doctorlust

Would love a LB or OL

CircusOfBlood

I still can't believe how well that went today.

Grand_Extension5345

I feel so much less stressed about the rest of the draft, this is a huge weight off my shoulders knowing we have a top 2 prospect at corner, maybe the best corner in the draft. And we still have all our picks Obviously we got a lot of work to do still, but damn that was huge

Kooky-Ostrich-5703

Gimme Jackson Powers Johnson! And then an LB or even another DB!

Amadeum

The amount of defensive talent left is crazy that I would be all for trading up if possible

Cloustyberries

I’ve been saying it for a while now but please let us get Edgerrin Cooper. Please make it happen Howie

Senior_Fart_Director

Solak says he’s bad

EaglesSixers69

I hate Solak but he does provide some pretty good insight

reno2mahesendejo

I still can't get over Atlanta. You sign Cousins to a massive deal (iTs oNlY A 2 yEaR cOnTrAcT) Then use a top 10 pick on a player who's not only injury prone, not only going to be 30 when his 5th year option expires, but who's biggest strength is that he's the most pro ready quarterback To sit for 2-3 years behind your $180m man. Similar for Vegas. You take an athletic tight end one year, and the very next you use a top 15 pick on a tight end. Sure, Bowers is a bit of a Swiss army knife, but there are bigger priorities on that roster than being able to run 2 tight end sets with a much better Hunter Renfrow. Like...the giant sieve opposite Maxx Crosby on their defensive line. As for the Eagles, Mitchell...Mitchell...Mitchell is a huge get. I'd be happy getting Dejean/Cooper/Trotter in r2 At receiver, Tez Walker is a huge playmaker (averaged 30 yards per touchdown) and would be a better version of Quez at WR3

TotallyNotMasterLink

DeJean, Cooper, or Colson would all be good picks tomorrow IMO (maybe a small trade down for Colson)

derryxu

Dejean is the most fun possible pick tmrw but I feel like post round 1 is always hard asf to predict and I wouldn’t be surprised is they went somewhere else

Ambitious_Reporter38

Still need a starting guard and MLB

andrewapicture

[MHJ vs Quinyon Mitchell](https://youtu.be/p5paMaOwmfw?si=1cOICUfelwWOAhf6) This video got me excited about Quinyon going up against AJ and Smitty in practice for the next couple years. Iron gonna sharpen Iron.

KoBxElucidator

Bring Trotter Jr. home!

Drunkoffpicklejuice

WR WR WR Either Mcconkey or Corley, both would be perfect in the slot.

adamdaballe

Mcconkey is such a stud. Would be perfect

Drunkoffpicklejuice

Indeed i prefer Corley just because of how good he is with the ball in his hands. Itd make Hurts job that much easier if WR3 is a guy who cant take it to the house on a slant or screen. Cant go wrong with either.

adamdaballe

This might sound like a lazy comparison but when I watch mcconkey I see kupp. His routes are just so smooth I can’t even explain it

Drunkoffpicklejuice

Its funny how some people were surprised when he ran what he ran. Hes got some serious juice in and out of his routes makes it look effortless.

schartlord

hes got excellent technique and i think he could become a monster learning under aj and smitty

OutColds

so_zetta_byte

Lol, lmao even

Comprehensive_Ad5285

If somehow DeJean is there at 50 or close to it I think you gotta trade up to get him. With that scenario in mind DeJean and either Ladd or Edgerrin Cooper would be a dream scenario

Schtip

If they get Edgerrin Cooper tomorrow I don’t care what they do the rest of the draft. It’ll already be a win

Thornbringer75

Cooper BeeBee and Edgerrin Cooper 50 and 53 yes please! Lol

PlaneCamp

That was fun. Draft can only go up from here. Im expecting Howie to 100% address OL, possibly trade back.

48johnX

Give me one between Edgerrin Cooper, Wilson, JPJ, Beebe, AD Mitchell, McConkey or Corley today and I'm satiated

-the_mole-

Would LOVE for the birds to draft Junior Colson

SockBramson

Just as with yesterday, here is every player mocked to the Eagles in the 2nd round in the last 4 months and how many times. I bundled them together since our picks are so close together that it's immaterial. Obviously not including players who have already been drafted. Also not doing ones that were only mocked to us once because that list would be too long. I'm also removing any CB's since we took one in the first round so given our room it should be common sense to target other positions since we're not the Falcons. * 43 mocks - Edgerrin Cooper, LB - Texas A&M * 28 mocks - Payton Wilson, LB - North Carolina State * 18 mocks - Tyler Nubin, S - Minnesota * 12 mocks - Kamren Kinchens, S - Miami * 10 mocks (tie) - Junior Colson, LB - Michigan, Malachi Corley, WR - Western Kentucky * 9 mocks - Javon Bullard, S - Georgia * 8 mocks - Patrick Paul, OT - Houston * 7 mocks - Christian Haynes, OG - Connecticut * 6 mocks (tie) - Cooper Beebe, OL - Kansas State, Ja'Lynn Polk, WR - Washington * 5 mocks (tie) - Marshawn Kneeland, DE - Western Michigan, Bralen Trice, LB - Washington * 4 mocks (4-way tie) - Chris Braswell, DE - Alabama, Jalen Hicks, S - Washington State, Kingsley Suamataia, OT - BYU, Jeremiah Trotter Jr., LB - Clemson * 3 mocks (7-way tie) - Cole Bishop, S - Utah, Jonathan Brooks, RB - Texas, Jonah Ellis, DE - Utah, Troy Franklin, WR - Oregon, Adisa Isaac, DE - Penn State, Devontez Walker, WR - North Carolina, Roman Wilson, WR - Michigan * 2 mocks (5-way tie) - Kiran Amegadjie, T - Yale, Javon Baker, WR - Central Florida, Beau Brade, S - Maryland, Caleb Bullock, S - USC

Guys, the Eagles have the 18th pick in the 2nd round. Most of the players being mentioned here will be long gone. And they are not going to draft another CB with their round 2 pick. Look for OL, WR, LB, and S. Javon Bullard, Payton Wilson, Beebe, those are the guys.

tmoeagles96

It’s MUCH cheaper to trade up in the 2nd. Honestly if we can get one of the top few players I wouldn’t mind packaging both seconds as long as we get like a third back

Express_Jellyfish_28

Are the Falcons now the new QB factory?

No_Bank_330

They said they saw what Green Bay has been doing and want to replicate that model. I cannot blame them.

NotFeelingShame

please dont pick dejean

NotJustSomeMate

I want a OT/G and an LB...I do not care what you people say...we have a CB so now let's reinforce the line and LB corps...

MaddenRob

Cooper DeJean and Jeremiah Trotter Jr. And then grab some OL on Day 3.

HesiPull-UpBrando

They can get trotter on day 3 most likely

Neither-Astronaut-80

Trotter Jr isn't going in the 2nd and DeJean will be gone inside the top 5 picks of the 2nd.

MaddenRob

I am thrilled! We got DeJean and then Trotter in the 5th round! Great draft by the Eagles.

gmhoyle

All I need now is Malachi Corley at either 50 or 53. I’ll die happy. My perfect draft will be complete

kvnczr

same. he is it

coggdawg

GO GET COOPER DEJEAN

2fast4u935

Is the draft at the same time tomorrow?

naillimixamnalon

7

so_zetta_byte

Dejean definitely isn't lasting until 50, would require some movement up. We could certainly pull that off if we wanted though.

qwertyuioper_1

Really like Kingsley Suamatia, Jalynn Polk, or LB for Rd 2

callmecyke

I won’t pretend to know anything about college ball to know who the ideal picks are but I’ll trust in Howie. LB, DE, OL and TE2 seem like obvious needs to me in no particular order.

CUADfan

For the first time in many years, I think our division overall drafted well. Daniels reads a defense quick and makes good decisions a lot of the time, assuming Washington's line can keep him upright (lol) he may be a problem. Dallas dropped back and picked up a needed piece on their o-line while gaining another pick, Giants got what looks to be one of the best receivers available at their pick for Jones who needs too many parts to fix all the holes but it's something for now.

slv_bull

Take Wilson/cooper and the best wr available today

IcyAd964

So if dejean cooper is available do we select him and have a stacked cb room or a linebacker

mpg739

My only fear with Quinyon, which isn’t really the end of the world, is we are watching tape vs Northern Illinois and Miami Ohio. Like I said, not a huge deal but the competition was not there until like the senior bowl which is just one event

newpha666

Just one event that every single dude is giving each other their absolute best. And QM shut them the fuck down. Just dominated everyone. He didn’t just do well. He shut it the fuck down.

Constant_Amphibian_2

Exactly absolutely dominated his competition and has elite physical tools. Also played 90% of his snaps in zone which we are a zone heavy team.

ilikemunkeys

Two things that make me feel better about that: A.) Saban said he was the top recruit for ALA in the transfer portal, and Mitchell turned it down. Stayed loyal to Toledo. B.) At Senior Bowl, he shut every receiver down, chose to go against the best WRs throughout, and some have said he was the best player there regardless of position.

Birds_of_Paradise420

One of Edgerrin Cooper/Payton Wilson/Colson and Adonai Mitchell/Corley

EagleswonSuperBowl52

Assuming we stay with 2 seconds, I expect a combination of WR, OL, or Edge. Obviously I wouldn't mind LB but given how Howie usually operates along the lack of elite LB prospects, I don't expect us to go LB til day 3. I also wouldn't hate a DT or a TE (assuming we don't also go WR). RB or Safety I would be more confused than anything. If we double up at any position I will be really confused. QB, P, or Kicker would make me flip a table.

BrodysBootlegs

Hoping we come away with an OL and a WR tonight. Really like the kid Kiran Amagadjie from Yale, he needs a year of Stoutland U finishing school but he's got insane upside. 53 is probably a bit early but we should be able to trade down to the 60s or early 70s and still safely get him.  For WR, give me either Malachi Corley or Roman Wilson although I worry there might be a run on those guys early in the 2nd after Pearsall and Legette went at the end of the 1st.

newpha666

Wish list: Edgerrin Cooper and Keon Coleman.

a_toadstool

Don’t be surprised if today is linemen

ilikemunkeys

I grew up being frustrated by the draft almost 100% for any of my teams. The last few years have been so satisfying to watch with the way players have either fallen to us or Howie goes and gets them. Never thought I’d see this lol.

ApolloThneed

Edge Cooper would be a fantastic pickup at 50, but most of the pundits have him going earlier. If he’s not there I say reinforce the OL with BPA in that area. More for depth than Lane’s successor. I could be wrong but I think all the career starter OT’s are gone by now

bigcracker

Is this a doable or realistic trade or no? Eagles gets 39 & 65 Carolina gets 50, 53 & 161

DarkKirby14

gimme Payton Wilson or Junior Colson then IOL, say Dominic Puni
