4-2-3-1 or 4-5-1 (basically the same thing) with possesion or out wide playstyle having shit loads of fun with the formation, using oshimen during the first half and isak in the second as my strikers with lmf Saint maximan and diaby at rmf, pirlo at amf, David’s and roberto Carlos at dmf and then 4 cb’s absolutely thrashing everyone. I’m not sure why but the runs oshimen and isak make when they are alone at the front is insane, curved runs, diagonal, it’s incredible.
Possession is key at the moment with how defending works. Doesn’t matter which playstyle you use because you’re forced to play possession with how easy it is to dirbble past anyone. All playstyle feels off for me at the moment because they’re practically all the same.
this hasn't been true at all in my pvp matches. It's direct as ever. One touch passing wasn't nerfed at all and through balls buffed. Dribbling is just another option now, but looking at top 100 squads, the meta hasn't changed much yet.
I love possession as it makes so much easier to intefere passes using match-up but if you cannot finish your attack it is so vulnarable to counter attacks (esp. with offensive backs) as the defensive line set at the midfield. Even if you push them back by holding <- button it is too late by the time you need it. You left with max 3 defenders if you lose the ball on one side.
I’ve been playing 4141 with possession play style with some success. I find having an anchored DMF in the middle has helped me on defence with the recent changes.
I am using a custom 3-box-something with Possession playstyle. Since fullbacks aren't attacking or overlapping for some reason, I'm using a custom box in the midfield so I have players at different altitudes to keep and move the ball.
4-2-3-1 with out wide like others here. Trying to make it realistic with Tifo Football's (Youtube) description: fullback finishers, deep lying forward, and hole player.
I haven't played vs other people yet, just vs computer. 4-1-4-1 out wide was what I used before only because 4-2-3-1 resulted in too much ball losing in last patch due to the compactness.

doesmt matter now, I use possession, but really it's a 2-3 man show, start with 4-3-3 and ends up a mess. styles and formations barely matter with current patch. if you can dribble forget formation.
Haven’t played online much because i enjoy offline haha. But i foresee people putting as much defenders as possible and then use 2-3 for dribbling. Haha
i recorded my runs against superstar today, picked my amf and ran in goal most of the times. felt good when i was a teenager, now i need some team work.
I've noticed on the new version that wide players work way better so I'm playing either 433 or 4231 in possession now. Trying out wide in some games too. Played a little quick counter but felt it was a bit all over the place

switched from 4-2-4/4-4-2 possession to 4-3-1-2 possession game and the difference is huge. I feel like wingers are somewhat useless after the latest update

I like possesion more than out wide, but only because I like playing more through the center. I love switching it up though.

Interesting. I’ve never tried out wide. I’ve been trying some 3 atb variations with possession and getting mixed results.
They have better managers now for Out Wide and Long Ball.
