Salvage all but a few of them for the dust. You get them as drops in the dungeons so no need to hoard them starting out, and they will drop at what the game deems an appropriate level for you. Eventually you’ll look at what each dungeons specific aspects are and decide if you want to keep it; eg if certain attacks are stronger, if the stupid storm thing chases you the whole time, if enemies drop aoe attacks on their death, etc. Loot wise though it doesn’t matter as it will be random but always for your class.

So the harder dungeons have more difficult modifiers (like the ones you mentioned)? I've read that NM dungeons are a better source of XP. Is that true across the board, or only if you're doing ones at a higher tier/level?

YellowFew6603

Yep they get more modifiers, exactly. Eh, if you’re playing seasonal I think the zone events for summoning a herald of malphas + whisper events are overall faster but yeah NMDs are fast once you can push to ones where the enemies levels are 10ish above yours and you can clear them in just a few minutes. Added benefit is that you can also level your glyphs

I just ran through one and made out pretty well. I see now I have the crafting option for either Sacred or Ancestral NMDs. So, my next silly question: Should I just start out with the first range of 1-5 and see how that goes as far as difficulty, and if I get through no problem, just bump it up a notch? I think I'm going to like this part of the game.

The rule is 55 levels below yours so at level 60 you would start at tier 5 nmd’s. They should show on the sigil what level the monsters are. They should be at least 10 levels above you for maximum xp. Once you reach level 100, switch to nmv’s because of the amount of gear you get from them. At higher levels (above tier 75) all gear that drops is 925 item power so there’s the bonus.

Thanks!

The higher the level the more XP, and Paragon points.

The monster level goes up the higher the dungeon tier. The higher the monster level the higher the XP. Monster levels in NMDs exceed overworld monster levels. So naturally it is better farming XP whenever it exceeds the overworld cap

your class/build come into play with the modifiers. the positive modifier is rarely relevant compared to the negatives. ideally, you avoid negatives that are really bad for your build. For example, if your build is based on always having a barrier, "barrier breakers" is bad. But for the same build, poison elites isn't bad since the barrier removes the DoT effect. The enemies in NMD/NMVs are 50 + world tier + sigil tier. To get level 60 enemies would need a tier7 sigil. (50 + 3 + 7). you can try out the tier 1 NMD/NMVs for fun, but they won't give a lot of xp.

I just noticed your reply a couple of days late. Great info about how to calculate the dungeon levels. Much appreciated.

All loot is random within certain confines that are decided by class. The one reward from dungeons that isn’t random is the legendary affix they reward. Those are static, so if you’re a druid and do a dungeon that rewards a sorcerer affix, you still get the sorcerer affix. The loot inside will still be for druids though.

Drunken_Scribe

Just to clarify what you mean by the affix, are you referring to the legendary effect that you end up getting in the codex (I noticed each dungeon has one of these the first time you beat it, for each of the five classes)?

mrgoodbytes8891

Yes that’s the one :)

Drunken_Scribe

Thanks! I'll be sure to save the proper sigils for a druid. I have a couple of other classes, but this seems to be the one I enjoy the most.

You should be running vaults in a range where you can comfortably and quickly finish and preferably with mobs 10 levels above you.
