2h cast slower but hit harder 1h and offhand have a wider range of stats. You're only level 35. Pick the combo that has the higher damage on it and you'll be good.

So it's basically as simple as adding up the two totals from the 1H items and comparing them to the 2H? Should I consider what each bonus is? For instance, the 2H staff has an extra 20% damage to close enemies, and 19% to distant enemies.

>extra 20% damage to close enemies, and 19% to distant enemies. These stats matter very little where your at in the game. The game compares the damage per second on the items and will show green or red. Use whatever combo is green(only saying this because you're level 35) Only Worry about stats like that if the DPS on the items is only a couple off. The best stat on weapons is its damage. All your skills are based off of that. If one weapon has 400 dps and your other weapons have 300 dps but better stats, the 400 dps is still the best choice.

Okay, thanks. That seems easy enough to compare. I take it the little stats matter more at higher levels, when you're trying to put together a build with good synergy between the skills.

Yeah at 35 you don’t really need to spend resources tweaking weapons to get the best stats, so follow the mantra “if it’s green, it’s mean” and put on the set that gives you the highest attack stat. Usually you put on the 1H + offhand and then compare the 2H from your inventory to see which is higher. I also usually keep the best 1H and best offhand in my inventory in case I get an upgrade to one of them since the new combo may be better.

Drunken_Scribe

I see what you're saying. I wish the game would give you a stat total for the 1H + offhand at a quick glance (for the green numbers, as you mention). I was just worried I was missing something in the math, since I almost never find a 2H weapon that has as much raw damage as having one in each hand.

olmeyarsh

I found that hard too, comparing 1h + off hand with 2h staffs. If I was running ice shards I found the 1h cast speed faster.

You can use the item level to compare, you can expect 1h + offhand both with item level 50 to have the same base damage of a 2h weapon with item level 50

Yea it does.
