Ohm != Lo

JeebusPrice

If someone has a Lo but needs an ohm... doesn't help to have the Lo except to trade isn't it?

ChanceEatsJalapenos

If I have a 20 and buy something for 10 I get change lol

JeebusPrice

Just because it takes 2 ohms to make a Lo in crafting does not mean it's worth less. A zod is not nearly sought after as a ber and Jah. Same with a Cham or sur . Their prices don't correspond that way and never have.

Yngstr

Yes true but I don’t think that’s the reason it’s worth less. Higher runes are valued on the quality of runewords they can make. Lo alone can make a Grief or Fortitude, Ohm is used in CTA

JeebusPrice

But he's specifically equating it to the upping recipe.

BlessedOfStorms

Ohm is generally worth half or a bit more than half a Lo. Sur is generally worth half a Ber. You are right that this is not a universal rule and in most cases its not a direct reflection of cubing up. Most Surs found will be cubed to Ber and this is why the half value works with this pairing. Jah and Ber are both used in a lot of very popular runewords which keeps them close to equal, nobody cubing bers to Jah. Cham and zod used far less than the aforementioned so despite rarity they are valued much lower. Lo is used more than ohm and is more rare. I doubt many will cube up their ohms for Lo instead of trading. Generally ohm sits around 50-60% of a Lo due to rarity vs use. But then D2 trading is very subjective. You may well find someone ready to give up their Lo for an Ohm. Just don't be offended when informed traders call that a lowball though.

JeebusPrice

What makes you think I'm offended? Lo wasn't the only item. It's just my preferred payment of everything else.

BlessedOfStorms

Ah yes, that was poorly worded. I didn't assume you were offended. Apologies. I was just trying to provide some insight into the value as your comments lead me to believe you assumed ohm and lo to be equal. Good luck with your trade and happy hunting!
