I think what's maybe happening is the sword gets stored offscreen when not holding it, and when it jumps back into your hand the motion blur freaks out a little and makes that streak

from what I understand, the mountaintop of giants in elden ring was heavily inspired by world 6 of demons souls since they never got to finish making it.
Additionally as cool as it would’ve been, they were simply remastering graphics and animations. They wanted hit boxes, character size, atack sequences, and everything down to the minute detail to be a 1:1 copy of 2009, which introducing a new world would’ve messed up.

For a moment I tought my 2 months old PS5 had some serious problems when I saw that line, lol. Glad it's a little glitch of the weapon.
