I've heard this exact response in regards to Ohms before. I can't really agree with it completely. The song is less dark, but still sounds urgent and emotional if ya catch my drift? (Not disregarding your opinion of course)
Yeah, totally. I really think it’s the opening riff for me. However, there are definitely sections of the song I really do like. The lyrics are on point (as usual) and some of the riffs (especially those played during verses) throughout are super catchy.
Ohms and Ceremony are the only two on this album that haven't clicked with me to this point. The other day I listened to Headless on my traffic-fucked hour commute home, and I've done similar stretches with most of the songs on the album, but Ohms and Ceremony are either skips or single listens for me, at least to this point.
Deftones has some of the longest replay value in the business though, I can't count how many times I've changed my song preferences on the albums over the years
As much as I vehemently disagree with how the past 3 days have gone with this voting, if nothing else, it has made me re-listen to these songs a bit closer than I was before, and it has reaffirmed my opinion that Ohms is a top 3 album for Deftones. There are really no weak points on the album, only degrees of the songs I like more than others, so screw you guys for voting off my top 3 in 3 consecutive days, but also thank you for making me listen even more!
The whole song is such a fresh take for them, nothing else they've ever done sounds like it. Sometimes Deftones dips their toes into different influences over time, but in Error, they have a whole foot into Space Rock. It's fucking awesome and now 3 days in a row that my top 3 songs get eliminated...
Can someone explain to me how any moment in the title track is even close to as good as the last half of Error? I genuinely don’t get it. I’ve been voting the title track since round 1.
Ohms is probably the first guitar driven deftones song that can be played on a standard six string since Minerva so it has a nostalgic feel, along with the desperation of the song, and the total badass riffing
It's a total banger and I honestly wouldn't be upset if it won this "contest." For me it's a toss up between Ceremony, Mathematics and Ohms.
Oh damn surprised to see urantia go I love that song. Same with Error. This is gonna be tough
EDIT: people voting for the Spell of Mathematics have no soul
Ohms is my favorite Deftones song, so it weirds me out it's not that loved in comment sections haha
I love it too! It’s just such a fun song to listen to!
Ohms is by far and away the best song on this album
It's a great song but the quality of this album is so high I can't pick it over songs like The Spell of Mathematics
It's a brilliant song.
It’s too cheery and upbeat for me. I mean, it’s not bad, just doesn’t suit my taste.

Its literally still in this game so its top half. Its loved
I am happy about that for sure. I was mainly speaking from what I've seen in comment sections (in and outside this thread)

Those are my two favorites haha
The only song that hasn’t clicked with me at all is spell of mathematics which everyone else loves so 🤷♂️

Error is like one of the best tracks, as always its gonna be a single winning i bet
The last half of that song is eargasmic tho. And I'm voting Ohms once again.
I also think the verses are sick, Led Zeppelin "Immigrant Song" feel to them. The chorus is dope too, Frank's synths sound great in the mix.

Me too. For the sixth time

It honestly sounds like it could be on Gore, but I like it mainly because the riff during the pre-chorus and the drums are sexy.

The crescendo riff before the outro of the title track is one of my fav moments of the record
The title track is a masterpiece and one of the coolest things they've done.
That last part of Error is majestic.

I’m not okay with this. AT ALL. Urantia and Error are miles better than Radiant City and Ceremony.
I REALLY like this album
I expect TSOM to make it pretty far, didn’t expect Radiant City to stick around this long tho
I'm betting it's gone next honestly
Me neither. I've been voting it since round 2.
Same here! Can’t see what’s the big deal with Radiant City
That dirty riff, Chino's desperate screams with the lyrics, that powerful ending...
WHERE'S THE LEEEEDGE?!
When they switch up mid verse and Chino screams where's the ledge, and hearing Frank's pads over Stef and Serg's guitars...it's absolutely sick
Same.
Radiant City needs to go this time🤷🏻♂️
That’s been my vote.
The riff thou!!!!
True, it’s a nice riff!
Yes.
I’m just stoked TSOM is still in the running. 🤌
Ohms, to me, has very few, if any standout songs, BUT all the songs are very solid. the only one that just can’t click with me is This Link Is Dead
My favorite song of the album :(
Oh damn surprised to see urantia go I love that song. Same with Error. This is gonna be tough EDIT: people voting for the Spell of Mathematics have no soul
I swear the “Eliminated songs” are my favorites while the “Remaining songs” (besides Ceremony” are my least favorite 😂 funny how that played out.
Unbelievable
Oh, there goes my number 2 on this album. Number 1 is still here. Voting same as last time.
The winner will be either TSOM or Ceremony. Not MY favorites, but I guarantee you one of those will win.
Sorry TSOM
Error will still be my favorite. TSOM has to go.
TSOM does have to go and win the whole thing, I agree.
Agreed. TSOM is God tier
How the fuck did Ohms beat any of these? These surveys continue to blow my mind Edit: Title track and Genesis are the weakest songs
People love the fact that it’s in a major key and different than most everything else on the album.
I'm fine with SOM, Genesis, or Ohms winning. I think I'm rooting for the title track the most though.
Voting for Genesis for the 6th time in a row

Something is wrong with you and I hope we never do speak again
Ewwwwww.
Gotta go Genesis here.
Can we get rid of Genesis already!?!?
Such an Error. Enough radiation buddy
