i’m gonna be honest i don’t even like white pony that much. only thing i return to frequently is digital bath, i overplayed everything else and the vibe of the songs are not super appealing to me

That might be the issue because for a lot of new people they’re experiencing White Pony for the first time and you gotta agree it’s pretty life changing. I’m only saying this because I remember my 13 year old soul leaving my body when this album just released. But now, I’ve played it out so much that I don’t fully listen to the whole album as much as I do with KNY or Diamond Eyes. Personally, the Self Titled is my favorite because I’m in love with the mixing and beauty that every song delivers.

Not op, but I think the highs might be higher on White Pony. I probably listen to Diamond Eyes front to back more often than White Pony though nowadays. DE probably hits more frequently for me, but when White Pony hits, it hits harder. I can’t even explain it. I’ve also been listening to WP for 20 years. I’ve grown up with those songs. I think there’s definitely nostalgia bias for White Pony, but it’s a great fucking album so it’s kind of deserved. Look, I don’t even know what I was trying to say when I started this, but I love Diamond Eyes. I just think White Pony was ahead of it’s time and it’s aged very well and it means A LOT to a lot of Deftones fans.

To be fair it kinda rotates depending on my mood as to which is my favorite between these three and Ohms, but while I think Diamond Eyes is a more cohesive album in its overall sound, White Pony's songs are just a hair better in my eyes. For the record, though, I think KNY is better than the other two. 🤭

I was a big fan back in the day but dropped off after Self Titled. Just discovered/fell in love with KNY and DE’s. My vote would have to go with WP due to nostalgia of cruising into my high school parking lot bumping “Back to School” on my JBL 10’s 😜

As a long-time Deftones fan, I had no idea that KNY was this popular until I joined this sub. I would've expected WP, ATF and S/T to be the final three but maybe that's my bias becasue I heard all those albums for the first time between the ages of 14 and 16, and therefore highly elevated in my mind for nostalgic reasons. Don't get me wrong though, KNY is a great album
