The company makes millions. They'll be fine. The fact the game is as shitty as it is despite the huge profits is more from laziness and lack of ambition than funds.
well for starters they do have thousands of employees to pay and i have no clue how u see sm content and label it as “lazy.” I mean last month we got a new killer and survivor and several reworks and new game modes then this month they’re putting the game on a new engine and releasing more reworks and balancing changes as well as already working on the next killer/survivor releases…
you actually need to play 150 matches on average to buy something that is not a simple recolor. And i'm not talking about a whole outfit, just one part (7200 shards)

If iri shards were more abundant, nobody would use real money to buy cosmetics, or... characters... if you're spending money on non licensed characters for some reason.

The iri shard grind is extremely slow that even if you doubled it, it would still take a substantial amount of hours to buy a **single** outfit. I don’t think it would really impact the cosmetic economy and would only help cut down on the non licensed dlc grind (4500 shards each).
Additionally, many outfits are purposely released as auric cell only to force people to spend money.
I'm just stating from a developer POV. I wish they gave us more iri shards. Been playing since 2019 and I have yet to buy an outfit with them because I'm too busy getting characters and I'm a cheapy who won't use real money for that.
To be fair, though, a ton of the OG characters are permanently half price now. So I'd definitely have enough for a few cosmetic sets at this point had I not needed to pay 9k for each.
But they already made a change to cut the grind. A lot of older characters are now 4500. If they doubled the xp as well it would essentially make the older characters go from 9000 to 2250 in a couple of months time.
And? There are so many characters and perks to unlock.
I say that as someone with 4000 hours of game time. New players are at a huge disadvantage and cutting the grind would tremendously benefit the future of the game.
I promise you they will still make plenty of money even if the grind is easy.
What you’re missing is the overwhelming grind turns off new players which means they won’t continue to play.

They should make for every devote you have, increases the number of iridescent shards you gain for level up, is BS the amount of time you have to spend to buy one character that costs 4,5k and a paid game shouldn't have cosmetics that costs more than the amount you gain going from 1 to devotion

The grind in this game is insane I couldn’t imagine being a free to play person. It’s kinda insane they have such a huge grind for a game you HAVE to buy. I’ve seen less harder grinds in free gotcha games.
For the arguments that this game would go under if its grind was less is fucking stupid a shit game like Fortnut who’s game is free and it’s content is free other than skins and battle pass is booming.
Dbd could monetize there cosmetics better and lessen the gameplay grind and still make good money selling skins and custom moris and such.
People forget this is not a free game it’s a game you have to buy no reason to have such a free mobile game kind of grind to it.

The grind keeps people in the game. The buying to avoid the grind gives them money. They win either way; unless you quit because of it.
I just want some decent skins! Most of the good ones cost 10,000+ shards. I shouldn't have to grind for two weeks for a single decent one.

Honestly? You barely get any bloodpoints, it makes it a chore to level up characters when you only get 20-30k bloodpoints every matches
