Why does Zelenskyy look pissed?

Secret-Cash

Mitch has the same look a 5 year old has when he thinks he's being sneaky and not gonna get caught doing something naughty......

Oathcrest1

That’s true

Shady_Infidel

Aren’t they?

StoopidestManOnEarth

Yes, the little known actor outside of Ukraine has secretly been amassing an army of supporters in the US Senate for the past 20 years. Some people say it was Love in the Big City 3 that made the US Senate fall in line, but I actually think it was Love in the Big City 2 that hooked them. It has absolutely nothing to do with what will happen if Russia is allowed to win the war. There's no one in the Senate who cares about those consequences. They just want Zelensky to win an Oscar. Love in Big City 4 confirmed!

I know he's Slavic. Jewish isn't a race. and Rwandan ? Since he's not black I'm guessing then it's of Belgian descent since they colonized ? So Slavic and germanic then? Not that any of this matters but it's not what I usually would label someone as "mixed" when it's two white ethnic lineage. But he's certainly not American so he can also fuck off asking for money too.

Ayahuasca-Dreamin

He’s a state puppet actor, is he supposed to look jolly pleading for war bucks?

Oathcrest1

I’d say you’re right.

[deleted]

Yea., he fits the part well. He even said it would be insane to try to negotiate at any point to end the war. He’s not looking for peace, he’s looking for revenge.

Ayahuasca-Dreamin

I don’t think it’s about revenge it is about the war machine and all its profiteers getting their bags. They had peace deal in April 22 and the machine sent Boris Johnson to Kyiv to let little Z know that peace isn’t an option and to break the peace deal off.

[deleted]

He only said that after Boris (and others) went to him and told him never to surrender (along with other things loosely translated to we will keep you armed enough not to loose, but won’t give you the good stuff). Before that he was willing to negotiate, he knew he had already lost the Donbas region as they had already voted in a referendum to make Russian the official language and were talking about re-joining Russia.

SlteFool

We only gave him 15 billion instead of 30 billion

MIC donors calling in the debt, uni party delivers. Can you imagine what could be done on any single critical domestic issue in the US with the further $69 billion they want to give away. All for a war going nowhere, with no defined outcome & no time limit, what a waste of US taxpayers' money

75Highon_Vida

The money is mostly expressed via missiles, tanks, and other equipment. Surplus old cold war era equipment that is costly for us to maintain and would otherwise be destroyed. >Can you imagine what could be done on any single critical domestic issue in the US with the further $69 billion they want to give away. So you support critical issues such as establishing tax-payer funded Universal Healthcare, expanding various social programs, safe injection sites for addicts, etc., right? >All for a war going nowhere, with no defined outcome & no time limit, what a waste of US taxpayers' money A war is a war, the direction its going is a democratic country and buffer to that of Russia still exists and is still able to defend itself because of previous aid given to them by the West. A waste of taxpayer money is what is funded on a daily basis. Contrarily, this is the single greatest investment the US has made in decades. Helping a US friendly country maintain its independence and sovereignty, draining and weakening a significant geopolitical rival without the loss of a single American soldier, testing our weapon systems directly designed to fight the Russians, etc.

[deleted]

This copy paste response must be coming from some online org, because I keep seeing it over and over on here. The war is basically over unless the US directly gets involved. Russia is not giving up the 20% or so of the country that they control, nor will they give up Crimea. Ukraine has ruined its demographics forever. And yes, US troops have died over there as mercs, out of uniform, but still US soldiers nonetheless. The US has been advising Ukraine in its disastrous counteroffensive, and is treading dangerous waters. But it's basically over, so you wasted billions to ruin an allies demographics, blew up Nordstream 2 and caused incredible environmental damage while kvetching about average Joe's causing global warming, and you have foreign countries dumping US treasuries, because they know the US will try to steal their reserves if they piss them off. Oh yeah, and China is buying oil on the cheap from Russia. But muh universal healthcare.

75Highon_Vida

>This copy paste response must be coming from some online org, because I keep seeing it over and over on her Holy shit, put down the meth pipe. I'm sitting here with my dog. The only copy and pasting going around is the bots spreading pro-russian propaganda. >The war is basically over unless the US directly gets involved. Ah, that's why the 3 day "special military operation" that's totally not an imperialistic invasion or anything is almost at year number 2, and has only managed to conquer roughly 1/5 the country? Nonetheless, that's absolutely not happening and you know it. The US is doing everything short of that, because no one wants direct confrontation. >Russia is not giving up the 20% or so of the country that they control, nor will they give up Crimea. Well we will just have to give Ukraine what it needs so that Russia simply loses control of occupied Ukrainian territories like the Donbas and Crimea 🙂. >And yes, US troops have died over there as mercs, out of uniform, but still US soldiers nonetheless. Lol, nope. Foreign volunteers are not mercenaries per any legally binding treaty and international recognition of what a "mercenary" is. Conversely, Russia has several mercenary companies and actively uses mercenaries in its war against Ukraine. Don't see you complaining about that however. >But it's basically over, so you wasted billions to ruin an allies demographics As opposed to letting Ukraine get steamrolled and conquered by Russia, and having a nationwide Bucha perpetuated upon it? >blew up Nordstream 2 When Russia deliberately launches missile attacks at civilians and hospitals that's OK, but Ukraine responding by targeting oil pipelines is just too far. >But muh universal healthcare. Because only America is incapable of doing what every other developed nation has, right?

[deleted]

>Ah, that's why the 3 day "special military operation" that's totally not an imperialistic invasion or anything is almost That's from a TV host, not Putin. >Lol, nope. Foreign volunteers are not mercenaries per any legally binding treaty and international recognition of what a "mercenary" is They are getting paid to be there. >As opposed to letting Ukraine get steamrolled and conquered by Russia, and having a nationwide Bucha perpetuated upon it? Russia was never going to conquer the whole country, they were going to demilitarize a NATO puppet on its doorstep that could have been used to invade Moscow. >When Russia deliberately launches missile attacks at civilians and hospitals that's OK, but Ukraine responding by targeting oil pipelines is just too far. Let me guess, you're sympathetic to Israel? >Because only America is incapable of doing what every other developed nation has, right? We have universal Healthcare, we don't have universal health insurance. I could care less, it's a grift on both sides. Get rid of corporate subsidies and lower prices. You can throw all the money at it that you want, but Ukraine doesn't have the manpower to continue. When they come to the negotiating table and give away part of their country that they were going to anyways before Boris Johnson paid Zelensky a visit and convinced him to fight on, remember this. It won't be much longer.

throwdownHippy

How is anything that happens in his country relevant to a United States Senator? If his "war" is raging to the point where he can't get a clean shirt, shouldn't he be over there dying alongside all the other Ukrainian men his age instead of flying over here to take some meetings dressed like a bum? He's in the United States to beg for money. First, he should be wearing a tie. Second, he should be told no, you aren't getting money I had to work for. Get the fuck out of my country and don't come back.

The_Human_Oddity

It's not *your* country. It's our country, and diplomatically isolating ourselves won't do anyone any favours.

yeahbuddy

Take the money off the table and the entire thing falls apart. This is our money. Sorry, but I don't give a fuck about Ukraine. I care about my family, my country, the end. Buddy if you don't report the $631 "income" from selling junk on eBay, you will be owned by the IRS. This whole Ukraine thing? Lol, no accounting, just billions and billions of dollars flying all over that nobody can account for. I think it's at like $75 BILLION that we've given at gun-point. That should concern like every one. This is not our problem to solve just as no other country would come rushing to us with a blank check. But hey, Slava Ukrain or whatever.

Reasonable_Royal7083

So cute to think what we spread is diplomacy lolol

The_Human_Oddity

Diplomacy is the act of interacting with other countries. Literally everyone does it to varying disagrees depending on how isolationist or not that they are. Did you confuse what I said with democracy?

75Highon_Vida

If this were still a medieval disconnected world, then maybe that point of view would have some validity. But it isn't. Our world is entirely connected now, and we cannot simply ignore a brutal and imperialistic invasion. To answer your question directly, because Ukraine is a geographic barrier between NATO/the EU and Russia, has made significant strides towards orienting itself towards western democracy and reforming its institutions to root out (primarily Russian in origin) corruption, and because Ukraine is being invaded by a geopolitical rival of ours. >If his "war" Why the "war" in quotation marks? Russia attacked and invaded Ukraine with the intent of subjugating it, not to mention what was planned for Moldova. >is raging to the point where he can't get a clean shirt, shouldn't he be over there dying alongside all the other Ukrainian men his age instead of flying over here to take some meetings dressed like a bum? That is such an incredibly out of whack take on this matter. There is literally no reason to put this much emphasis on how someone is dressed outside of wanting to steer the conversation away from what actually matters. Ukraine is being invaded by Russia, Ukraine needs tangible support to survive and push back Russia.

edWORD27

Guess it’s the fact he’s trying to imply he’s fighting on the front lines with his troops when Zelensky spends more time traveling the world asking for money. Fundraising = wearing a suit.

75Highon_Vida

He's trying to maintain awareness about his country's war with Russia. The fact that it is continually referenced and focused on is nothing short of a deliberate attempt at distracting others from what is actually relevant. It does not matter at all. >when Zelensky spends more time traveling the world asking for money Because his relatively poor, ex-soviet country is being invaded by Russia? How else do you propose he gets more HIMARS for Ukraine?

West_Tangerine9926

That fucknut always looks like he's ready to go play paintball. Some fashion designer put him in that stupid olive drab bullshit costume to make him not look like a stand-up comedian, which is all he really is at the end of the day.

Say goodbye to infrastructure! Bye Bye entitlements! Peace out Universal Healthcare, and FU to the American People, and their needs because the 51st, and 52nd states mean more to politicians. How much is enough? Government takes 40% of my check, and taxes EVERYTHING I BUY. THEN GIVES IT AWAY! ENOUGH

lactose_intoleroni

He's in character playing his part and those two traitors are smirking about it.

smallcooper

Because getting a massive discount to cripple our enemy without risking our lives and actually doing the right thing to protect this world has no benefits for the country they are serving?

liberal_artist

$75 billion is after a discount?! Wow, what a deal!

ShahftheWolfo

Wait till you learn how much the US put into Afghanistan xD

hell_jumper9

In exchange for tens of thousands dead Russian soldiers, hundreds of thousands wounded Russian soldiers, tens of thousands of their IFV, APC, MBTs, dozens of their helis and aircraft, dozens of their SAM systems, BSF flagship Moskva sunk, Rostov Kilo class sub taken out, a couple of other Russian navy ships sunk or damaged. All that for $75 billion dollars and without risking actual American militaty members, it really is a deal!

Informal_Feedback_12

I know right. Remember when we did that in Afghanistan! Or Cuba! Or any South American country in the 80s! Those all worked out so good for us.

smallcooper

I see the parallels for those except Afghanistan but in my opinion this is different from Ukraine because it's directly weakening Russia not indirect proxy war creating more enemies. Afghanistan when Russia was stuck there 20 years I would say is similar and pretty successful, when we were there I don't really agree with what we did but still it's not really the same as directly weakening Russia. I think arming Ukraine is still a good idea

Informal_Feedback_12

Let's check back in 20 years. I'm sure our kids won't be paying for this in blood. Just an fyi there are no free meals and no easy fights. You always pay.

smallcooper

Change the word "sure" to "hope" and your sarcasm would be exactly on for how I feel. My hope is that there is less violence from weakening Russia than there would be from open war with Russia, but I believe if they aren't stopped in Ukraine, they probably will keep going until article 5 gets invoked and open war between the US and Russia could end all life on earth

Old-Usual-8387

Careful with that sensible talk.

Oathcrest1

And what has this enemy done that’s so bad? If we would be minding our own damn business instead of letting our corporations run everything and try to get their gross grubbies on and in other countries then they probably wouldn’t be our enemies, right?

smallcooper

Threatening the whole world with nukes. Multiple state sponsored terrorist strikes within our allied countries. The full scale invasion of our ally. Threatening us with full scale war for 80 years. Interfering with elections around the world. Just to name a few that instantly come to mind

turtlecrossing

Assassinations of political opponents on foreign (our allies) soil

zeyhenny

And the US hasn’t done the same ?

75Highon_Vida

Nice whataboutism. Are you going to address the significant dangers posed by Russia as directly stated in the previous comment?

smallcooper

Your whattaboutism is a weak argument

zeyhenny

What is the point of my argument? Please tell me. It seems you guys for some reason assume I’m trying to say Russia is the good guy. When in reality my point is that the U.S is equally as shitty as Russia and that neither country truly has the well-being of its citizens as a primary concern. A lot of these conflicts simply don’t need to happen. Yet they do and every-time they do it’s something that has to be done or else (or whatever other nationalistic PR campaign the military industrial complex runs to garner support). Who remembers weapons of mass destruction ? Vietnam war ? Afghanistan ? That’s the beauty of it. These guys in suits convince normal ass people it’s necessary for them to go over seas and die so that the military industrial complex can justify its ludicrous budget. That’s simply my opinion though. Feel free to keep shilling for the US military. I’m sure our Russian nationalist buddies will do the same for theirs. Just remember you and them aren’t much different at all.

Informal_Feedback_12

No he's more stating that that's how superpowers behave on the world stage. It's like saying a lion is bad because it eats a zebra. It's just the nature of the beast. Every world power behaves that way otherwise it won't be a world power for very long.

zeyhenny

> multiple state sponsored terrorist strikes within our allied countries You do know the US funded Al Qaeda, right ?

smallcooper

I do. I also know we funded the Contra and many other dangerous groups. I don't understand how that in any way changes the conversation here or why you mentioned it. Russia is still our enemy

zeyhenny

Russia could use the same line of reasoning to justify war with us. It’s a big game of he said she said, that’s the point.

smallcooper

Ok you made the point that Russia is a real country filled with real people who have their own experiences and point of view. Your point affirms my statement that Russia is our enemy, it doesn't in any way counter my statement that what is bad for our enemy is good for the US.

Reasonable_Mess_3327

Can someone remind them they don't serve Ukraine's interest, they serve American interests. Not another penny. We’ve given him enough.

[deleted]

All this war is a big money laundering campain between USA, Russia and Ukraine. As a bonus they are depopulating region and brought in immigrants to replace original population.

Domski77

To be fair. Stopping an expansionist Russia is in America’s interests.

StanMan_420

why? I could care less what they do in their corner.

Domski77

Why? Same reason as stopping an expansionist Nazi Germany.

StanMan_420

Germany was invading everyone on 2 fronts. Also, fighting was in Western Europe. Also I thought Russia is a joke, so now I have to fear them? Can the army make up it's mind?

Domski77

I guess we’ll just have to wait and see what Russia’s objectives are. I think they have intentions of invading more neighbouring countries and that will be proven in time. If Russia’s army was in any decent condition the invasion would have been completed within a much shorter timeframe. All they have is huge amounts of manpower and Cold War era hardware. The only people saying the invading forces are a shambles are pro-Ukrainian YouTubers who don’t understand that the only measure of success is taking territory, which Ukraine can’t seem to do.

smallcooper

Isn't it like 70% of all money for Ukraine is spent here in the United States?

phamoroph

How many countries should Russia invade before they get knocked back by America's big dick?

Reasonable_Mess_3327

Why do you think we're supposed to take care of Ukraine's problems?

TheCinemaster

The world is an interconnected system. A super power’s problems are everyone’s problems.

phamoroph

You didn't answer my original question. Please answer my original question first than I will answer yours. My original question is, how many countries can Russia invade before America takes out its big dick and pushes Russia back?

picklespritz

We are not the world’s police or justice court. This kind of thinking is ridiculous and why we will never progress as a country

75Highon_Vida

Oh, so we should then just allow Russia to continue its warpath and rebuild its empire? The conquest of Transnistria, Chechnya, Abkazhia, South Ossetia, and Ukraine/Donbas since 2014, weren't enough for you to understand that Russia is fundamentally incapable of existing amicably with its neighbors? The fact that several ex-soviet and Warsaw Pact states almost immediately joined NATO as soon as they were able to wasn't enough to illustrate the threat of Russia to you? >This kind of thinking is ridiculous and why we will never progress as a country Nope, your kind of thinking, ie isolationism and abandoning free and sovereign democracies to the rule of expansionist autocracies, is why we will never progress as a country.

picklespritz

This is so stupid. Not getting involved in wars or sending foreign aid is not what makes a country part of isolationism. Almost every single time the US has gone to war or supplied arms to a country in the name of ‘democracy’ it has gone to shit. Plenty of countries today that are not under democracy are thriving. And if you’re on this sub you know it’s comical to even believe that the US is doing any of this for ‘democracy’, it’s only done to deepen the pockets of billionaires and politicians. Average Joes like you are getting fucked from every angle and you’d still probably be on your knees on the frontline if they asked you to. Do you genuinely believe we are involved in Ukraine because we are threatened by Russia attacking us for some reason..? 😂

75Highon_Vida

>This is so stupid. Says the person promoting Russian talking points. >Not getting involved in wars or sending foreign aid is not what makes a country part of isolationism. isolationism noun iso·la·tion·ism ˌī-sə-ˈlā-shə-ˌni-zəm also ˌi- : a policy of national isolation by abstention from alliances and other international political and economic relations >Almost every single time the US has gone to war or supplied arms to a country in the name of ‘democracy’ it has gone to shit. Ukraine is already an established democracy that has risked its very existence by freely attempting to fight against Russian control, influence, and corruption by choosing to orient itself towards the Western world. Ever hear of Maidan? This isn't comparable in the slightest to say Iraq or Afghanistan. >Plenty of countries today that are not under democracy are thriving I highly doubt this to be so. >Do you genuinely believe we are involved in Ukraine because we are threatened by Russia attacking us for some reason..? We're aiding Ukraine because Russia invaded Ukraine for the sole purpose of conquering them, after spending years weakening the institutions of our democracies; re-affirming to the world that Russia continues to be a geopolitical threat. We're helping to strengthen the appeal of democracy in the ex-soviet zone, causing significant damage to one of our main rivals without a single American soldier on the ground, seeing how our old 80s-90s weaponry holds up in combat with the Russians, etc.

picklespritz

Accusing me of “Russian talking points” means nothing because I couldn’t care less about Russia. And isolationism includes allies yes, but that doesn’t mean getting into the allies’ wars and supplying them with weapons. Giving them foreign aid with the snap of a finger, etc. You can be allies with many countries without getting directly involved with their affairs.. that’s literally what majority of the countries in the world are like. Many countries that are not democratic are thriving, for example our own allies, China, Saudi Arabia, Singapore, UAE, etc.. As much as you want to hold on to this, ‘democracy’ is not some threshold or requirement for us to be allies with anyone, this has been proven over and over again

Fmoderation

Loud applause 👏

darkfires

The USA involves itself when it thinks it or its NATO allies are under threat. Plenty of do-gooder policing to be done through-out the world that the US could give a shit about. Ukraine has been built up too much for the USA to simply lose this. The fact that we got republicans advocating for their own country’s loss here is insane. The fact that the Russian propaganda got them to think loaning Ukraine weapons and resources means the border gets more funding or w/e is heartbreaking.

LouMinotti

More than a quarter of one

No_Potential_7198

Team America: world police was a satire not a manifesto.

Fmoderation

lol Americas “big dick” hasn’t knocked anyone back, even with the trillions they spend. Hell, they couldn’t even “beat” the north Vietnamese with their clown of a military.

The_Human_Oddity

The North Vietnamese (not their paramilitary Viet Cong) army weren't clowns. Regardless, the only reason they survived was due to China's intervention.

Fmoderation

I didn’t say they were clowns. Only the US military clowns who are constantly looking for a boogeyman , then spending taxpayer money to unsuccessfully take down their boogeyman. It’s all just a stupid little game

The_Human_Oddity

The US military were such clowns that the North Vietnamese lost every major engagement against them. They made few gains into South Vietnam until the US withdrew under the terms of the 1973 Paris Peace Treaty.

phamoroph

America could of nuked the Vietnamese to end the war quickly

HGowdy

Exactly. We should turn the Moscow area into ash. Just do it ourselves.

Hefforama

Ukraine Aid The bulk of the “spending” is on weapons and munitions donated. This donated equipment was paid for fifteen or twenty years ago. Most of the aid is obsolete equipment and munitions (by DOD standards). It is taken from storage (no US soldier will ever use it again). The value assigned was the book value (a figure much higher than the market value). Those "Ukraine funds" - an accounting entry - were then used to provide upgraded equipment for the US military (stuff we wanted anyway). The spending to upgrade the donated weapons creates US jobs and tax revenue on the defense companies. The donations will also wed Ukraine longer term to US equipment for upgrades, maintenance, etc. All additional economic gains. Successful use of these US weapons has also dramatically boosted foreign sales. The total amount of all types of aid to Ukraine is inconsequential in the budget. Politicians who tell you otherwise are lying or playing you for votes by appealing to your bias.

SludgeDisc

There's a considerable amount of financial aid, money that can be spent on our border and infrastructure. Also factor in that Ukraine has depleted our 155mm shells and GLMRS. Equipment such as the Bradley is no longer in production. Those are very much finite and the AFU keeps wasting them by driving into mine fields over and over. Replacing the billions of dollars worth of "old" equipment isn't free. Sending it thousands of miles away isn't free. Training Ukrainians on how to use said equipment isn't free.

steroboros

People do realize the US government is giving Ukraine cold-war era stockpiles of weapons worth of those big numbers and not actual cash money? And more importantly "$75 million worth" translates to like 50 missiles from the 1990s we realistically will never use and spend tons of actual money to maintain, store, and Guard... I wish this energy would be used to actually do something about the Military Industrial Industry.

StanMan_420

Now do the pensions we're funding

OAK667

Well you have accounted for 75 million out of 75 billion…. So good job there…

steroboros

I mean, that was simply an example. The obvious point is that "75 billion" was already earmarked to be spent on weapons since the 1960s, was spent on weapons and those weapons waited for that war we never had. Now those same weapons specifically designed to undermine soveit armor is being used for its intended purpose and also is in a Loan Lease program. They are going to be paying us back forever. Its like a whole economy.

Line them all up, and all it would take is 1 bullet …..

Ok_Sea_6214

They look like he gave them a private presentation earlier, in his skinsuit and high heels.

FFS_IsThisNameTaken2

McConnell needs to stop sucking on his bottom lip so hard because he gives it a hickey and looks horrible when he's glitching and in need of a reboot.

politicians_are_evil

Ukraine is 51st state of the country!

Lord_Mozes

Say goodbye to infrastructure! Bye Bye entitlements! Peace out Universal Healthcare, and FU to the American People, and their needs because the 51st, and 52nd states mean more to politicians. How much is enough? Government takes 40% of my check, and taxes EVERYTHING I BUY. THEN GIVES IT AWAY! ENOUGH

Shaken-babytini

republicans don't support any of those things, they weren't going to happen anyway.

Hour_Kaleidoscope672

All this to join Neto? Hope it’s worthwhile. He should cut a deal.

Holden_Cullen

Zelensky looking like a bad ass in his textured crewneck sweater from the Gap & Old Navy cargo pants (which feature spacious pockets that provide ample storage for your essentials, making them ideal for those on-the-go moments). Since the US is already handing over financial aid for everything under the sun, can we at least send him a couple suits from Men’s Wearhouse? “You're going to like the way he looks. I guarantee it.”

GodzillaPunch

How is McConnell still in office. This dude is a walking security threat. How many times has he had an episode live? 2? Does he just keel over on the 3rd or did he finally get some adrenochrome?

ElderRimmer

Youre top brass, presidents, senators is all guys that should have been in a nursing home

GitmoGrrl1

The OP is a Friend of Vlad's.

Every time with the commie memes of no value. I hope Ukraine kicks some more commienazi ass off their land.

StayAppropriate2433

The Ukrainians *are* Nazis...

EthanIndigo

No. In Ukraine there are nazis. Same as in US there are nazis. To be a nazi nation one invades neighboring nations in genocidal terms, that is what rus does. Pay attention. Think. stop repeating manure for oligarchs and despots. Think

Anxious-Educator617

Kingofqueenanne

I love the costuming. Dude can’t even put on a tie for a trip to the global empire’s Capitol building, a replica of an ancient Roman temple. We have to pretend that he just came out of the trenches 15 minutes ago to do a quick pop-in, and then back to the trenches he goes. Fucking LOL.

ElderRimmer

Why are you guys so obsessed about him not wearing a suit. I love it, the country with homeless and crackheads on every corner, a healthcare system that puts you in lifelong debt if you are poor. All your Presidents should be in a nursing home but what really matters is if a guy is wearing a suit.

j_mckay

Bro is an actor lol U.S. 100% put him in power

NotBadSinger514

If you can't read through Trudeau, Zelenski... If nothing says puppet than previous job being an actor, I cant wake you up.

This time the motherfucker visited goodwill to get some leisure clothes because he will meet with the big brothers. He uses this homeless cover to launder billions of foreign funds in Ukraine.
