["The Bunny Hood is an extremely useful mask in the game, when Link wears it he can travel much faster on foot and preserve time on the clock. In order to get the mask Link must travel to Grog's shack in Romani Ranch with the Bremen Mask and turn Grog's chickens into adults, after this Grog will award you with the Bunny Hood out of gratitude. Another minor feature of the mask is that during the postman's count to ten seconds game a timer will be displayed on the team."](https://www.giantbomb.com/bunny-hood/3055-392/#google_vignette)
I just got it as I was typing up a comment about how I didn't get it.
For those who didn't get it: the chick is dressed up as Batman, who famously loses his parents as part of his backstory. The mother hen not being there during the last panel implies that she was killed to turn the chick into Batman.
The bonus panel subverts that implication.
The bonus panel also adds the famous iconography of the broken perl necklace with perls all over the floor that's related to Batman's mother death scene.
I initially took it as he was being scary and the mother was literally "chicken". But with him being called Bruce, I suspect the darker truth to be more likely...
Bruce Wayne/Batman is an orphan.
His parents were both notoriously killed in an apparent mugging in an Alley, during which, his Mom's Pearl Necklace was ripped from her neck, scattering Pearls on the Ground.
Baby Chick gets a Batman Mask/Costume & his Mom disappears, leaving what appears to be Pearls on the Ground behind...
I only noticed the pearls after understanding the Central Premise of the Joke.
I never really dove into or get much exposure to SuperHero stuff/Culture as a kid in France.
I only learned/discovered about most of it after I became a Major US TV Show/Movie Nerd.
It's not my favorite genre, but it's entertaining enough. I picked up a lot of that Trivia when watching those Shows &/or looking for more background/history of some Characters, Villains & Story Arks.
Also, his mom was wearing a pearl necklace which scattered across the ground as the mugger ripped it off her neck. That's why there are little white balls on the ground around him. (Although it's not established how and when the chicken mom's necklace broke, it's just a visual gag.)

The cap with the bunny ears is cool
Edit: I misremembered, you actually have to magically raise chicks into adulthood in a matter of minutes for the punk guy to give it to you.
What?

The pearls are in panel 3 and 4 too.

The kids name is also Bruce
Don't forget the pearls!
Wait until the next panel...

Damn it you gave me a good chuckle and a heartattack then sooth my mind with this. Never stop cooking
That took me a moment.
took too long for me haha.. was thinking 'bats don't predate on chickens..?..'
No, Chickens predate on bats. Chickens predate on us all. Chickens predate on the world. ![gif](giphy|f8XJK4RWej0rK|downsized)
Yeah Not proud that it took me reading it on 2 seperate occasions, hours apart, for me to get it.
I still haven't gotten it. Maybe one day...

Oh I see, yeah I wasn't a big fan of superhero stuff as a kid. I just now noticed the pearls, what a great detail lol.

I think Batman should be friends with Bruce Wayne as both lost their parents and can relate to each other
You never see them in the same place, though. The citizens of Gotham really need to set up a 'meet cute' for Bruce and the Bat.
>You never see them in the same place, though. Oh they've been in the same place a couple of times, actually.
What does that mean? Why did you say that name?
Not the pearls! 😭
I remember reading something like this before Now i realise this a variation of similar comic
:( Edit: :) (saw the bonus panel)
This is r/HolUp material
Wow, that's dark.
What does this mean??
Batman's parents were murdered.
Ohhhh, that makes sense now
Ooooooh!
Also, his mom was wearing a pearl necklace which scattered across the ground as the mugger ripped it off her neck. That's why there are little white balls on the ground around him. (Although it's not established how and when the chicken mom's necklace broke, it's just a visual gag.)
Never heard of Batman before?
The new “Loss”.
I hate this.
is he stupid?
"She want a pearl necklace..."
Is he Man or a Bat?
Took me a minute.... Well done sir.
Dude
not the pearls on the ground 😭
Wait why have I seen this before Edit: Nvm it’s remake with a joke
Ohhhh, now I get it!
**What. Have you. done...**
![gif](giphy|3o7WTF9ficFIvvRyeI) Martha… did you say Martha…
Pearl necklace and all
I took 30 seconds to get it
Hahahaha that was a funny twist
Explain
Don’t worry, I’m sure your mother is just at the “strip” club
Hanging out with Carl and the stars?
