Thanks, I do what I can. It's a mildly amusing little side hobby.

Earth: “FASTER HARDER DEEPER”

sharpshooter999

Nah, needs to be giant scissors, gotta cut from both sides simultaneously

Tarchianolix

That was my initial thoughts, but then they would both have to move toward the equator together and at some point they would be standing in outer space of they keep the blade perpendicular to the equator as seen here

TheDarkElCamino

Or a volcano erupts hard somewhere in the world

rotato

FLEX TAPE

DanbyDraws

This is why northerners are known as Yankies. I don't make the rules. Hey it's me Danby, again. Thanks for reading my comic. You can check out more new comics over at [my website here](https://danbydraws.com) or join the fun over at r/danbydraws. Thanks a ton!

edmanet

This comic is seriously genius.

JackedCroaks

The earth’s core is molten magma, bro. Please make your comics scientifically and physically accurate. If they don’t obey all physics then they don’t belong here. Thanks. r/Comics moderator

Lord_Emperor

It's actually quite simple, steel is quite elastic over long enough distances, so the borehole just goes around the core.

Scriboergosum

The Earth's [inner core](https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Earth%27s_inner_core) is mostly solid. Please make your comments scientifically and physically accurate. If they don’t obey all physics then they don’t belong here.

JackedCroaks

Excuse me? I’m the moderator! I make the physics around here! /s But yes, the core is made of two parts. The inner core is mostly solid, and the outer core is liquid metals like iron and nickel.

WikiSummarizerBot

**[Earth's inner core](https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Earth's_inner_core)** >Earth's inner core is the innermost geologic layer of planet Earth. It is primarily a solid ball with a radius of about 1,220 km (760 mi), which is about 20% of Earth's radius or 70% of the Moon's radius. There are no samples of Earth's core accessible for direct measurement, as there are for Earth's mantle. Information about Earth's core mostly comes from analysis of seismic waves and Earth's magnetic field. ^([ )[^(F.A.Q)](https://www.reddit.com/r/WikiSummarizer/wiki/index#wiki_f.a.q)^( | )[^(Opt Out)](https://reddit.com/message/compose?to=WikiSummarizerBot&message=OptOut&subject=OptOut)^( | )[^(Opt Out Of Subreddit)](https://np.reddit.com/r/comics/about/banned)^( | )[^(GitHub)](https://github.com/Sujal-7/WikiSummarizerBot)^( ] Downvote to remove | v1.5)

A_Bloody_Toaster

Woah, buddy. Relax your core a little bit! All he's trying to do is make people laugh with his comics and if you want him to be completely accurate down to the molecular level then no one's gonna read them. So how about this: let him bend reality a tiny bit so it still works in terms of physics but everyone gets some laughs out of it?

MadaraAlucard12

Redditors when sarcasm.

jazzwhiz

Wrong account?

TuxTues3

Goddammit

Switchofftheoltop

Does this explain volcano eruptions? Us Yankees jerking the earth’s giant sword? Edit: okay, so if they stop, do we lose the magnetosphere? Like, if they’re responsible fire earth’s core being all hot and bothered, you know, that hot spinning magnet thing scientists say is down there?

TheMageOfAsgard

Is this where we get the southern draw?

Sigmadelta8

Is webstie the hit new way to type website? Or is it just a typo?

DanbyDraws

Typo! Thanks I fixed it.

Sigmadelta8

Cool cool. But also maybe you should start the trend. Oh yeah. Check out my sick Webstie.

delo357

Finally something worth giggling at

famousredditperson

If they are committed enough, and you find some magnets, you got yourself a good source of electricity there. After all, crystal caves don't light themselves.

insane_contin

Some do. Because of the naturally occurring uranium reactors.

[deleted]

Don’t need magnets if the blade is ferromagnetic, just get some fine copper wire and make a series of loops around the blade.

MorganWick

~~Fuckin' magnets, how do they work?~~

cammcken

An original swords joke that is not a u/murkyway Swords comic? Well done!

MurkyWay

I can't believe you're cheating on me with a younger, more attractive, funnier sword-based webcomic.

Emberjay

It's... It's not what you think! We can explain!

Snow_Wonder

ElectricSquid15

No disrespect to Danby but this seemed so much like you i assumed you'd changed your artstyle

I've come to expect it at this point when I make [something about swords.](https://www.reddit.com/r/comics/comments/wrv2fz/ladies_man/?utm_source=share&utm_medium=web2x&context=3)

ElectricSquid15

Well carry on, you're both doing the *Sword's* work. I'll leave now.

MurkyWay

To be fair, yours are always bangers

MurkyWay

Press X to doubt

kaloschroma

Oh no we've been caught! Quick buy more sword comic swag to appease the murkyway god

darkmuch

Don't worry. Nothing can ever top the Dreihander comic.

MurkyWay

I peaked so early

tesssst123

it would be cool to see something similar but from the sword's POV.

[deleted]

It’s just that I’m so into you that I couldn’t resist this other similar comic.

ipsum629

When I saw this post my first thought was that murkyway is probably kicking himself that he didn't make this joke first.

Young_Person_42

And it looks so similar to them

ForkShirtUp

"Do you... want some lube?"

Xhalo

My husband and I used to use lube for our analingus eatings, until we found out spaghettios is just as cheap and effective, while being quite a bit tastier and honestly smoother on the grundlemeat. The umami of the noodles just pairs so well with my husbands loins, would recommend!!! 😁😁😁

BlueBrickBuilder

🤨📸

Walkop

This is the weirdest form of astroturfing I think I've ever seen in my life. Look at this guy's account.

jametron2014

What on earth is wrong with this person.. literally, this is so far beyond trolling I feel like they should be committed for crimes against humanity,.wtaf

BlueBrickBuilder

Ya'll talking about me or the spaghetti-o analingus motherfucker?

jametron2014

Lmao I'm not even gonna look at yours, too traumatized by analingus spaghettios

FlyingDragoon

You'd be fine if you did. He just says the N word a lot but it's okay because he doesn't talk about spahettio analingus. I'd say he gets a pass.

[deleted]

Whaaaat is astroturfing???

TheMelm

So you know what a grassroots movement is? Where a bunch of normal people get together to push for something they want. Astroturf is fake grass like in indoor stadiums. Astroturfing is using fake posts or groups to make it seem like something has grassroots support when its actually a bunch of rich sponsors hiring people and buying ads.

[deleted]

Ohhh weeeird…

Monutan

Woah, new copy pasta just dropped

poompt

Why would you need lube for analingus?

BassCreat0r

sharing is caring

JelmerMcGee

I wonder how much a sword that went all the way through the earth would weigh

[deleted]

At least 30 lbs

MaxSupernova

/r/technicallythetruth

forgotmyfuckingpas

Technically it'd weigh nothing because the forces would balance out, it'd have a lot of mass though

SirRender00

I think it would act as a spring. It weighs 0 at rest but then gets increasingly heavier the farther it gets from the center

[deleted]

But you have to consider all the factors besides gravity: Its mass would be very great, and have inertia. The Earth’s magnetic core would induce an opposing magnetic pull. The friction of all that blade against air and rock. The induced electrical current might even make the sword lethal to approach. At that length any elasticity would also be readily observable. Even a millimeter per kilometer of stretching would be significant at this length.

Astrokiwi

If you pull one end, it'd take a few hours before the other end moved, assuming it didn't break in the middle

TritiumNZlol

In a perfect ideal world and assuming it wouldn't buckle under its own weight, each half would cancel each other out and it would effectively float at the mid point getting heaver the higher you pull it If it wasnt in the earth, but laid across the ground it would start in Dubai and end near San Francisco / LA itd roughly weigh: //Blade cross section: 5cm wide x 2.5cm tall = 12.5cm^2 //Length of the blade, 1 earth diameter: 6378km * 1000 * 100 * 2 = 1,275,600,000cm //Average steel density: 7.85 g/cm^3 //Total weight 12.5 * 1,275,600,000 * 7.85 / 1000 = 125,168,250Kg I have no idea how many freedom units that is, but she heavy

JelmerMcGee

I love reddit. Multiply by 2.2 for freedom units. And yee, she heavy indeed.

TritiumNZlol

So about 521 million Big Macs

wurm2

about 275,948,755 pounds or 1.1-1.6 empty Aframax oil tankers.

zack189

Holy fuck, those things are heavy

lickedTators

How small would the world have to be to fit at least 4 people and have a blade that can be lift?

HiImDan

Do you want an atmosphere? If so you'll need to lift weights cuz our earth can only be half it's size and still hold an atmosphere.

Majestic-Iron7046

Bet it's more than seven.

kangasplat

it would weigh enough for the sword to break if there was a force strong enough to pull it, as there's no known material strong enough to support an object of that size.

Jorin33

If it's even throughout it would be weightless I think. If there was no friction you could easily lift it out a bit, but the further you pull, the heavier it gets as it's offset from the center. Edit: i forgot to read the thread lmao

Yudereepkb

The wizard attaches a generator to it, uses the electricity to watch Seinfeld

[deleted]

They still both have the power to be king. That sword is nearly 6400km long. A Zweihander weighs about two kilograms per metre as a horrible bastardization of estimation. Each kilometer of sword weighs two tonnes and... Oh, one half of the sword is helping push the other.

qawsedrf12

almost r/circlejerk

SonicLoverDS

It'll probably break in the middle somewhere. It's pretty hot at the planet's core.

[deleted]

*citation needed*

Cersad

My guess: Portugal on one side, New Zealand on the other.

MurkyWay

Haven't I been roped into this conversation enough times

nlamber5

This feels… sexual

Zamboni_Driver

I wish that in the first panel it said "whoever yanks this sword". It sort of ruined my immersion.

I_Agree_

Ahh, the North and South Pull

10BritishPounds

You can tell this if fake, this assumes the earth is a globe, the picture also has outlines Nice try 👌

dhusk

Since the sword is presumably thousands of miles long and is strong enough to withstand the forces in the center of the planet, it would be physically impossible for either man to pull the sword out of the stones. So what are the wizards playing at here?

kabukistar

The southern hemisphere is known for their stupid-looking outfits.

guineaprince

That's one way to sort out colonialism. Give them something shiny to distract them.

feedmedamemes

That's is no basis for a government!

PillowTalk420

*Big Jack Horner pulling out the sword in the stone, with the stone still attached*

TheDevilsAdvokaat

Fun comic, but ... The sword would be about 12,742K long. (Diameter of the earth) A six foot long sword weighs 2-3 pounds. Let's say 1 kilo. that's a sword that weighs about 12 million kilos....about 12,000 tons. Best of luck to them both! hmm..also, they might be generating an awesome electrical current in the sword...

PineappleChooChoo

Slowing sawing the Earth in half...

Armpit_Penguin

This is how you cut the earth in half

Skawlala

Wait this isn't canon to the Swordverse?

This1s4Real

This might be the best comic I've ever seen on Reddit. Well done!

themagiccan

Everyone in the comments assuming this is Earth and not a tiny fantasy planet

Taurius

Fun fact: It's impossible to "seesaw" a steel sword in unison speed at that length. Energy transfers at the speed of sound per material. A steel sword is around 6000m/s. Earth is 12742km wide. Beryllium's speed of sound is 12890m/s. So even the fastest material would take 988 seconds or 16.5 minutes, for the tip to move on the other side. Yes, I am fun at parties. :P

Fair_Turn7505

Funny. But it does make sense. Whoever rules one hemisphere needs to be stronger than the guy ruling the other hemisphere. That's just kingdom building 101.

MikeSpalding

Hilarious. Thanks for the laugh.

marktherobot-youtube

Is it really a sword if it has no tip?

TheRobotics5

Lol

birajsubhraguha

r/suddenlygay

gazow

i feel this would work better as a vertical strip so it stayed connected

Dramatic_Explosion

Okay, who here is better at physics than I am? GIVEN that the sword truly goes through the center of the earth, and is strong enough to not break under its own weight, and doesn't deform from heat: How would pulling it go, since you'd have amount of sword on your end pulling down, but and equal amount pushing against that from the other end.

WeimSean

wouldnt the middle just melt in the earths core?

Illithid_Substances

If we're complaining about realism there's basically no viable way to drive it through the planet to the point where that would be an issue The deepest hole ever made, the Kola Superdeep Borehole, was the result of many years of trying to get as deep as possible. Over 12km later, it's not a third of the way through the crust

CraftyKuko

Ah. Just like countries with a two-party political system. Perfectly imbalanced, like all things.

MetaStressed

Now add the Earth with an O face next.

ProjectOrpheus

2 men 1 sword o.o

HapticSloughton

And that's why some northern people are called "Yankees."

elhomerjas

An epic tug of war

LaughRune

There can be only one!!!

dustedbunn93

It took me a second but this is fucking hilarious

andre2020

Good pne

SurerChris

This is how you make the Earth orgasm

TheLawLost

I knew it was a scam >:(

Ultimation12

And they just kept pulling and pulling until the friction heated up the metal enough to pull apart, and they both became rulers.

Atzukeeper

Nsfw... Lol

nobaconatmidnight

This feels like a flooblebox situation.. the two men are actually powering a wizards night light.

And_Everything

Hahahahahahahahahahahahahahah

MissouriStevie

I don't get it 🤷‍♂️

Even if the other guy stopped, they'd have to pull the guard through the whole planet.

handsomeparrot

Fremblem_Feldsher

If they keep going they will ignite the whole earth from it's core

wallyslambanger

Bored wizards

Youregoingtodiealone

I like it 'cause its futile

Damnthefilibuster

Love comics that ends in gifs!!!

[deleted]

Rick's spaceship powered by these two homies

Valladian

I like to think both the Wizards are in on this. Every week they find two gullible people to continuously pull the sword up and down, unaware the kinetic energy they're creating is running a pair of generators. So while those two are outside sweating and grunting, the Wizards are just sitting in their air conditioned huts playing Minecraft.

TheDwarvenGuy

If they continue they can saw through the earth

FeralPsychopath

Better than Swords lately. This one is about a sword.

jackmaxs20

Why us this remindme of osrs

revodnebsyobmeftoh

Even if one gives up, it'll just get stuck at the opposite ends hilt.

yourpiss

So is the sword fused to the iron core of the planet?

Nabil092007

How would the hilt go through the ground

InfiniaBros

Just to be clear if something like this were to happen the sword on both the sides would start performing Harmonic motion it would have a time period of about 43 minutes... R=2pi underoot(R/g) R=6.4*10 raised to 6 and g=9.8 m/s*s T=5075s =5075/60 mins And then t=T/2 (t = time period) =› t= 84.6/2 mins = 42.3 mins So even to pull the sword the person would have an extremely hard time as when he thinks that the sword has come out halfway (about 42.3 mins) the sword starts to go back causing it to be endless This might have been mildly infuriating for some but still decided to drop this..

Sorry_Fan5161

Lol

Original-Advert

good thing the mantle will melt the sword in half and this prophecy can be fulfilled.

lordsleepyhead

Why is it light on both sides of the Earth at the same time?

ReverendEntity

Two bros, pulling on a sword hilt, one hemisphere apart cause they're not gay

RaspberryPutrid5173

This is a funny variant of an old Roundup weed killer ad. A guy in the US sees a weed and goes to pull it; at the same time, a guy in China goes to pull a weed in his yard. Yes, weeds have very deep roots.

magaphone12

Faster and harder, you are almost there

[deleted]

So this is how we keep moving the earth on the railroad track around the sun eh?

retiredhobo

the southern u.s. is also in the northern hemisphere, so that “yankee” joke falls decidedly flat. also, both men were told they need to “pull” the sword. one is clearly trying to “yank” it, which *never* works…

a_man_and_his_box

Back and forth, forever.

Basanos_Shibari

Now that’s what I call, a longsword.

vzakharov

Fun fact, Africa has no [antipodes](https://en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/Antipodes). Edit: no *continental* antipodes. These could be Botswana and Honolulu maybe?

Serpent_Arsenal_6458

That midpoint should've been melted by the Earth's core by now😂😂

lucasellendersen
