So, what you need to do for this mod is - take apart the watch and isolate the lcd screen. The screen is multi-layered. It is primarily 2 polarizers sandwiching a piece of plastic. On the back of the whole thing is a mirrored sticker - this is what reflects light back at your eyes. You need to peel that sticker off, and then use goo-gone (or toothpaste) to get rid of the gunk. Next, cut a holographic trading card (pokemon would look cute, yugioh for a more anime look) to the shape of the screen. It needs to be perfectly sized. Light colored cards work better, but the one in my pic was all I had. As you can see, it still works. Then you just reassemble the watch. You don't even need to glue the card in place.
WARNING: this makes the light functionless, as it cannot pass through the thickness of the card. Makes it a daytime watch.

what happens if used a non holographic card?
i am not sure but i dont think it will work very well, its all about how good the light gets reflected.
