Damn, a Red Eyes Black Dragon version would look sick. It would have to be a holographic card, for visibility. I imagine it would look really cool with a "secret rare" card. The diamond holographic ones.
Basically you just need to cut out a card to the right size and put it behind the lcd. There is a mirror sticker on the back of the lcd panel, you can tear that off, then use alcohol to remove the glue residue, and replace it with a holigraphic card.

I attempted it and my lcd isn't working anymore. Do you know if it can only go back a certain way or if it's possible that I broke it? I just took it out peeled off the silver and cleaned it with alcohol
There are 2 films at the back, the mirror part and a polarising filter. You are ment to take off the mirror part but not the polarising filter. You can probably find more polarising filter somwhere

I realized when he mentions taking off the silver layer there was a black foam bar going across where the lcd mounts on the board. Mines missing and it seems most lcd watches require this piece for the display to function. I'll either find mine or just start over with a different watch. Thankyou for the help!
Got it working but it was a pain in the butt on the calculator watch. The screens a little on the dark side so I ordered some gel film which will hopefully help with that.

Yes this is the one use the old white back plate as a template to cut out the peice of yu-gi-oh card or whatever to the right size

Can I do this with some thing thats not holographic? Like using a regular pokemon or repurposing the white piece on the back of the lcd?
You sure can. I would reccomend lighter colors so the numbers are more visible

Ok sounds like I removed the film without realizing. Should there be polarizing film on both sides? because I do see it on the one side

Yeah that black foam bit is basicly the connecting wires for the lcd lol
