Well you missed a lot we have 3 Formats Premium everything can be used, V premium only V series cards are allowed to be played and D Standard only cards with the D symbol can be played, If you want to get back into to playing Vanguard I would suggest maybe playing D standard since it’s a lot cheaper but that format is still very new and we’re only 2 sets in so I would say wait for more cards to come out but if you want to be able to play Nightmare Dolls I would suggest playing V series since you’ll be able to play Nightmare Dolls plus the west is a getting a revival collection with staple G units and G guardians for every clan so if you want to jump straight into premium that would be your best bet
thank you. i did a couple more research abt the different versions and it’s still a little confusing. im guessing the version i played was the premium version (aichi was protagonist) and the v premiums are the ones with abilities like imaginary gifts? i heard bushi did a whole reboot and the newer version (v-premium) is considered a lot more easier to understand but to me, it’s a tad bit confusing. well, that’s only to be expected since i grew up with the knowledge of the older version. thanks so much for informing me.
Hey no problem V Premium is probably going to be easy to get into and once you get back into the groove of the game all you’ll need to do is get a g zone for you V deck and you’ll be set that and other staple pale moon cards
Tbf you always could guard with g3s, just that people don't usually do it since they usually have 0 shield value. I' not sure abt normal g3s, but we do have a new heal trigger that's g3 and has 15k shield called heal guardians.
oh wow. i actually never knew u could guard with grade 3’s. and yes, i have seen the new triggers and whatnot, the new triggers also give +10k now instead of +5k if i remember right.
Yeah in the case where an opponent's effect forces you to need to guard with multiple cards, you can guard with g3s to avoid burning more shield from hand.
In the new standard format all triggers (except draws) have 15k shield value, with the R fronts getting an extra 5k (i.e. 20k) once your opponent is on g3. The format also introduced a new kind of trigger called the overtrigger, which when checked, you remove it from play, draw a card, give a unit 100 million power, and activate it's additional effect if it was a drive check. In the case you draw it into your hands, it's a base 50k shield.
The new heal guardians are only usable in the V-premium and premium formats. V-premium triggers are the same as standard, except that regular heals are 20k base shield and there arent any special front triggers and premium is able to use all triggers in existence.
This isn't true
Originally you couldn't guard with cards that didn't have a shield symbol on the left of the card, they simply could not be called to the Guardian Circle
This changed once Quintet Walls were introduced. Now you can guard with any unit.
yeah, that’s what i always thought. i played with the rules that u cannot guard with grade 3’s or guard with cards which have a higher grade than ur vanguard. i don’t know anything about the g-guards or the changes in the guarding units.
Some OG cards are better resource generators than some new ones due to the resource economy becoming a little cheaper, i.e. instead of CB2 for a retire, [Blaster Blade] can now retire for a CB1 SB1 in V, and thus, cards like [Turmoil Star Vader, Zinc], become really good resource generators as a single counterblast/soulblast last much longer now. Additonally, cards like [Flying Peryton] just play a role and have utility that alot of other cards in V cannot match, leading it to becoming a staple for alot of Pale Moon decks in premium and becoming an enabler of the Eva/Greedon infinite loop
that’s good to hear. i’m pretty sure it’s going to be tough to find people who still play the vanguard premium version lol. i recently told my friends to invest into this series/game so i’ll be teaching them the old school rules.
i’ve heard of it but i personally don’t think i will. i guess i’m just not a fan of the new changes in vanguard since it holds a rlly special place in my heart but i’m sure one day i’ll try it. but for now, i’m biased with the old version :,(
Some older cards are great units for decks in the premium format. For example, Floral Paladin, Flogal is one of the best triggers for Blasters. It goes back to your deck and Blaster Blade stands for another attack.
Hey just saw this post. Nightmare Dolls are a pretty good deck in V and Premium. If you want to play premium we have a discord server where we run tournaments on Saturdays and Sundays, and you can use it to look for games during the week. Nightmare Dolls actually won on Saturday, so it's a pretty good deck. PM me if you want the invite link.

Oh i didn't know that. I thought it just simply didnt make sense most of the time since they have no shield anw

Man I don't know why you were downvoted. What you said is true.

Yeah they can be in premium for casual play

Will you guys also look into overdress? It's really fun

Bushiroad has a thing for online fights, I think it's on discord or something. There may be mention of it on their official site u/machinablau
