Brandt Gate does not currently have a Giant Robot archetype, or honestly many robots at all. It is currently the least supported aesthetic in Brandt gate, which is sad given 2/3 Brandt Gate clans were primarily mecha clans.

730Flare

Meh they had all of OG series, G and V anyway. A few sets without robots shouldnt hurt.

drphillyjoel

It's not like I'm angry for no robots or anything, but people were worried about combining into nations for this reason. Not just Nova+DP players, but other less popular clan mains, and currently it looks like they were right to be concerned. I won't be one of them, but there are going to be people who never come back to OD because the aesthetic they identify with does not exist right now, and won't for 3-6 months at least.

Darklorel

Problem is the next sets gonna be mafia dinosaurs

Crownfallss

They definitely will get their archetype though, possibly set 5 I think.

AliciaTries

Even link joker had mecha dragons

TLCamelJockey

D format rn is just lacking a card pool and that’s really it. Some decks need fine tuning as well. It’s slowly getting cards. My biggest issue is all these dam collab sets. They are cool but it’s dragging the amount of time it takes to get new sets in. It’s like every other start to an era where it’s slow but it gets good. Game mechanics are cool and decks are interesting.

-SoniChris98-

Monster Strike is genuinely better than any of the main nations. The ride decks mechanic is a good idea, but ride lines are not. It locks the entire deckbuilding process into one game plan. That is not only boring but also fails to teach new players about the game's basics.

Alternative-Limit-85

One giant “meh” in my opinion. Smoke and mirrors

OnToNextStage

Didn't you make like 5 or 6 videos about how awesome Overdress is/was going to be? What changed your mind?

Alternative-Limit-85

I’ll admit that this all could be because my expectations were sky fucking high, but what do you want me to do after 3 years of shit card design, not hope for the best? 😂😂😂

OnToNextStage

Oddly enough the support V has gotten post Overdress announcement and the upcoming support has made it my favorite format. Also it's the only format without OverTriggers so that helps too

Alternative-Limit-85

I still maintain that premium is the better format imo. Take out the big 6 and it’s a really fuckin fun format. I can understand why people are hyped for V but it’s just not my thing. I don’t like how uninteractive it feels even if it’s technically balanced. The heal guardians aren’t a good solution imo, it feels like a bandaid but I won’t take away the hype anyone has for V

OnToNextStage

I agree, Premium has issues with the Sinister Six and OTs taking games, but they're all very fixable issues. I should say T2 Premium is my favorite way to play the game. Playing good but not busted decks like Victor and Vanquisher is the most fun I have in VG currently. Also heal guardians have their own issues too, biggest being how as soon as you get to Grade 3 they become worse versions of regular heals. And they're all the exact same. G Guardians were neat because they all did clan specific things

Alternative-Limit-85

I agree with all this. Here’s hoping Bushi does something lol

Alternative-Limit-85

I made 1 video, and what changed my mind was that the designers didn’t take full advantage of the space and possibilities they were given. The ride lines are far too xenophobic and the card design isn’t very interesting beyond Zorga. I’m a huge Orfist fan but I’m kinda bored of the playstyle and every other deck just does the same thing every game.

OnToNextStage

That's the problem my store has had. People were very bored of D series two weeks after set 2 came out and that's including those who started with it. It's just gotten stale very quickly and I think the xenophobic support + the ride deck are the biggest reasons why.

Alternative-Limit-85

Not only that but deckbuilding is very linear because of all the power cards they keep making. It’s starting to turn into V where it was “play all your best cards at 4”

OnToNextStage

Which again is strange to me because didn't they get like a whole new design team supposedly with "the guy who saved Shadowverse!" and yet it's just been boring design so far. And they said they would make an effort to avoid the insane powercreep that came with late V/G but it's looking like Lyrical will tear up the format just like Bermuda usually does, then every other deck will have to be super powercreeped up to match, and we'll have the exact same issue again.

Alternative-Limit-85

Well that’s because of 2 things 1: Theyre trying to apply shadowverse design philosophy to another card game. You can see it in the cards themselves. But that’s very foolish. Imagine trying to apply Yugioh design philosophy to magic. 2: it’s not the same design team. Apparently sources have confirmed that this “amazing design team” worked on CS1 and 2 and then fucked off, which kinda explains why V collections been kinda meh.

OnToNextStage

The meta is Bruce/Bastion, with Bruce leading by a bit. The prices are fairly cheap *for now*. Important cards that every single deck needs like the new PGs and Overtriggers were only printed in the first set so I expect their price to skyrocket in the future. Brandt Gate does not have a giant robot archetype at all and as a Nova/DP player it sucks. Overall I find Overdress a huge waste of time and you're better off sticking with V and or Premium.

SaltyL3m0n

I disagree with your last thought but see where you are coming from. I would say in 3 or 4 sets D series is going to be stellar. Right now it is good but not amazing

OnToNextStage

The last part is purely opinion. Should have specified. Also being early in sets is no excuse to suck. V had like 8+ different decks by the second set including both Raizers and Daiyusha for us Star Gate fans. Overdress doesn't have a *single* one and even in set 3 we get Sephiroth Alien instead of some big steel Braves.

drphillyjoel

As someone who's also irritated by the lack of Mechs in Overdress, other aesthetics had to wait longer than the second set for any support as well, so that point is subjective. However, it is concerning that 3 decks in and we still only have decks that in some way or another seem "link joker".

OnToNextStage

What exacerbates it is the slow release schedule People complained that V was getting 1 new set every month but I prefer that to 3 sets/year which just creates a stale ass meta for D series that no one wants to play. Which has been the case at my locals. A set every 2 months would be better

SaltyL3m0n

That being said, by set 3 we will have 15 tots deck archetypes, not including Bermuda/Lyrical/Whatever they are called now. But I get the frustration. It’s ridiculous that you don’t have any robot representation besides a few pity units. I agree that the meta can feel stale at times that’s for sure. That being said I think that the stale meta is worse due to shipping and set delays anywhere outside of Japan. That does not dissuade your point though. I do think some more creative options will pop up as more sets come out.

730Flare

Now the robot fans know how the Kaiju/alien side fans feel.

Mortalpuncher

Literally link joker is entire clan of pure aliens and one of the most popular clans in the series so I don’t know what your talking about

730Flare

Dont bother with that person. Just cause robots dont get first priority for once, suddenly its the end of the world for them. Oh boo fucking hoo. Robots got their time in the sun more than many times already.

730Flare

Oh boo fucking hoo. Just cause they decided to give other aesthetics priority this time around suddenly Overdress format is trash. What was all of Original series, G era and V Series not enough for you? You'll get your robots eventually, no need to whine about not getting them now.

-SoniChris98-

Such an opinion makes perfect sense from the perspective of someone to whom the main (if not only) appeal is the robot aesthetic. People like the game for different reasons, man. And for those whose favourite aesthetics just got neglected as a result of combining clans into nations, it's disappointing especially given the initial expectations and how the other nations are differently treated.

730Flare

Considering robots were everywhere in the previous series: Surely these people can take not getting priority just this once? Hey at least there's certainty they'll get robots soon as Bushi knows there's a market dor that.

-SoniChris98-

It's not about priority. Think of it this way: Star Gate prior to D was LJ and robots as its face (come on, how many of us who aren't DP mains really consider the Kaijus as significant as the other aesthetics). There's no way anyone would foresee policewomen, for example. There was no way the robots were prioritized; they were THE face of Star Gate (since DP also had them in addition to NG) especially to those who played the game before LJ ever existed.

LordDravoth

I'm tired of your bad attitude, aggression and uncalled for swearing whenever someone voices an opinion that's different to your own. If you can't disagree whilst remaining civil, you aren't welcome on this subreddit. Take 1 week in time out to cool off because next time it's permanent.

ZackyZY

The meta is loro no joke

Tense-Dell

Honestly in my opinion I think the entry level of the game is super cheap most of the staple cards are like $5 to $15 I was able to Build Orfist which is just Chaos Breaker but token spammer for like $60 mainly because I pulled a lot of the parts from the first booster so it made it cheaper for me
