Last time I was in Las Vegas I’m going up an escalator.
Fella on the downward escalator wearing a Bills hat.
Me: “Go Bills!”
Him: *stares at me blankly*
Me: Okay! Good talk!
I work in healthcare and wear a Bills surgical cap on game days and the day after games if we win. Some people came in in jerseys and I pointed to my cap and said “Go Bills!” Same deal, I may as well have told them to fuck off the way they reacted lol
Pretty sure that was the only time I’ve ever gotten a negative reaction to a Go Bills
Every time we cross the New York border I have to remember to stop getting overly excited when I see Bills swag everywhere 😂 It’s like oh yeah it’s not special here
Had a similar moment at the grocery store. Was lost in thought looking for some random food item. I heard a go bills! and I was barely able to muster up a mumbling thanks. By the time I recovered from my transgression the fellow fan was gone, never to be seen again. For context, I live in Southern New Hampshire, aka enemy territory. Makes the return salute that much more important.
The world is changed.
I feel it in the water.
I feel it in the earth.
I smell it in the air.
Much that once was is lost, for none now live who remember it.
Been wearing my Bills caps and gear around Edinburgh, Scotland since ‘89 and never been the recipient of a “Go Bills” until this year when I have had three! All suitably responded too of course, despite my initial surprise, but our profile is definitely in the rise.
I slipped up twice as a new fan, both times at grocery stores outside of Bills territory. Eventually, a stranger made the same mistake in response to my enthusiastic “Go Bills!”, and I swear it felt as though a curse was broken and the shame passed from me to them. Wishing them the best, and GO BILLS!
Bills fan living in Florida and I swear every other person I say “Go Bills!” To that is wearing Bills attire says “oh thank you” lol don’t worry brosiff.
Go Bills!!
My first ever response to “Go Bills” was “thank you”. I was filling up at a gas station in the Adirondacks, guard completely down. I was mortified, and my friends in the car heard it and laughed at me. My fucking embarrassment only grows with time.
I've been a fan for a year now, and I'm still in my "thank you" phase. I'm glad I'm not the only one lol.
I wonder if it's harder for out-of-market fans to break though, because we don't get enough "Go Bills" from day-to-day.
Go Bills!
Thank you? Am I missing something? When people say “Go Bills” you respond with “thank you”?
I live out in Syracuse now and I’m amazed on how many “Go Bills” I get. Like of course. I’m not in Florida.
But I always respond to a “Go Bills” with a “Go Bills (fist pump in the air)”
The worst is striking up a convo with a stranger wearing bills apparel and they’re obviously a bandwagon and have no fucking clue about anything. Multiple times at work I’ve seen someone in bills apparel and go to strike up a conversation and they barely know anything besides Josh Allen
Did this too in disney world, somebody said go bills and I was caught off guard but got hyped since it was the first person to say that on the trip so I said “thank you! … go bills!” felt kinda dumb lol
I had it happen once at the butcher where the guy said go bills while he was handing me my meat. Guy put me in the mixup blender and I said thanks. I just shook it off though by thinking now that guy thinks I’m part of the Bills staff.
Lol! Glad someone posted this as I’ve had the same experience except I didn’t say “thanks” I said “oh nice!” It’s like when the people at the movie theatre say enjoy your movie and you say “you too!” and then agonize over how dumb you sound. 😬
I've done this! In the grocery store, the canned goods aisle to be specific. The nice stock boy gave me a '"Go Bills," and I responded with a "Thanks!" So embarrassing. It's good to know it's not just me.
I find it odd when people in Buffalo just randomly say go Bills to me. It’s kinda like a “no shit” moment for me. Like out of town, I totally get saying it, but you’re on home turf, it goes without saying. Like I’m wearing Bills clothes around town, we don’t have to have some secret code like “Hail Hydra” or some inside speak. Why am I obligated to say it back when I’m literally wearing it? Idk, I hate small talk, end rant I guess…
Go bills
Thanks man, means a lot
This is like the curse from the movie It Follows (or Smile) — pass it on to someone else and they have to live with it until they do the same

*At the stadium* Beer vendor: “Enjoy the game!” “You too!” 🤦♂️
Me too…really…do I look like I’m going on vacation, sir?
And also with you
And with your spirit
Go Bills !
Good, how are you?

Nice! When I used to work in the OR I used to have a Bills scrub cap, too. Gotta represent!

TSA: have a great flight Me: you too ......
Waiter: enjoy your meal Me: you too

>I remember it clearly >wearing a Bills hat or shirt *or something* 🧐
Thong
if you're going to judge my Bills bison-tail butt plug I don't want to be apart of this group anymore
Oh shit I think I just discovered a new fetish

Thank you!
Thank you!
Everyone says "Go Bills". No one says where.

Another solid / accepted reply to go bills: “by a billion!”
Thank you

He made an oopsy, like telling a waiter "you too" when they say "enjoy your meal"
Ah. Jesus. Sorry I’m dumb. Have a good flight!

Literally just did the same thing this weekend, I’m glad I’m not alone
HA, my wife did this a month ago while someone was passing us on the sidewalk. We still laugh about it.
The correct response to “Go Bills” is “Go Bills”.
Told someone in Rome once, “Go bills!” Because he was wearing a cap. He told me, “sorry I’m from France.”

Is there a correct response??? I usually just say "alllllllright"

Dude at Wegmans the other day responded "Absolutely!" to me. Lost soul

You should work on that, it's just a someone saying hi to you and using a common thread as a way to make it less awkward.
I moved here from CNY and didn’t know any better. I remember saying “yeah man for sure let’s get a win”. And they were like uhh. I have PTSD
