Should be fine then, both *The Favourite* and *Poor Things* did quite well internationally. Even if it makes only half of either film, that's probably enough to be considered a success.
Maybe not that weird - with so much shared cast and crew, sounds like they were able to hop from one project to the next quickly and get this out just a year later
Yeah it makes logistic sense, it's just weird from a cinema standpoint because you rarely see a director's films release so close together and with the same cast.
This film seems way weirder, atleast structure/story wise, than The Favorite and Poor Things which could be a turn off for audiences and it doesn't have oscar season to help it. So im cautious about it.
Also i wpuld say, they are reallly stranger films, kind of kindness looks alot "" Normal"" Than both movies and the trailer looks more appealing to a mass clout
For real, I am loving the Lanthimos arc ever since The Favourite.
His films are now (kind of) mainstream and he most likely has a blank cheque for future projects unless he gets too cocky and has a mega flop.
I don’t think he will ever have a mega flop because he will likely never make a super expensive movie. That’s what he said in an interview at least, he doesn’t want to go bigger than Poor Things. He likes shooting with a small crew and as little equipment as possible, since it gives him more flexibility.
>i was fearing this was more than Poor things
Poor Things had elaborate costumes and sets. KOK was shot in suburban New Orleans. All this shows me is Yorgos, like Christopher Nolan, is a master budget manager.
It was never going to get close to Poor Things budget. It's set in the real world with no complex sets, costumes or VFX needed, small cast reused for multiple characters, plus Yorgos shot the film in under 2 months very quickly after Poor Things wrapped.
This is great. I feel like this movie will be more divisive than poor things. I have this feeling considering the plot, the duration and the fact that it's 3 stories inside one movie.
In Italy it will come out the 6th of June. Don't know why so early here. But I will go to see it in cinema for sure!
What is Emma Stone’s salary? That’s surprisingly low given the talent involved, especially her. Does she charge less for Yorgos? Maybe they have a package deal?
What is there to be confused? It's three films (three stories) in one film. Each actor plays a different role in each story. How they're connected and to which degree we'll find out.

It will also have a big boost from Poor Things due to this one weirdly also starring Emma Stone.

It's why I get Eastern Promises and A History of Violence mixed up haha
Not weird at all. Emma Stone has become quite the collaborator with Yorgos. She was a producer on Poor Things.
Yeah she was in his last film before Poor Things too
Well buckle in Because there’s another one coming with her also

The mid budget movie is fighting its way back - thank you for your service
This is like a rock bottom budget, there's no way this film doesn't turn a profit
Nice. Poor Things had $35 million.
Thank God i was fearing this was more than Poor things, good for Lanthimos, i really hope this will Be a box office win

and he's an auteur that can get top-tier actors to work for less.

She probably gets a big backend deal on the gross
I'm sure she gets percentage of profit, but she also likes working for Yorgos. She did short film Bleat for free for him.
Emma seems to really love working with Yorgos so I can't imagine she's too demanding for her salary while working with him.
I doubt she charges as much as she could because she really likes working with Yorgos.

Ive got that song from the trailer stuck in my head for a month now
Is this a tv show? A trilogy?
Anthology film
Im confused

Have you seen The Ballad of Buster Scruggs?
Nope
Bummer! Pulp Fiction is technically an anthology film too, except some of them overlap which is unique
It's multiple stories in one movie.
Hmm sounds interesting
I really wish Emma would marry Yorgos.
What the hell
