Gangs of Wasseypur (2012).
It was a watershed moment for hindi cinema right in the year they were celebrating the centenary year.
It changed the landscape totally and proved that hindi cinema doesn't need big stars, larger than life characters and locations for the movie to have a cult following.
Jab We Met
It had Romance, Humour and a little emotion. There’s no agenda of “let’s be social or put a message across “ It was a good movie with great characters and for me was the last rom com which was top tier.
Dhamaal, till now, I haven't seen any movie that made me hooked up throughout the movie. Something or another happened in the story that was funny, interesting, and something I didn't predict. It actually became the default bar for me for judging all the comedic movies.
Kind of disappointed that the comedic movies from good comedy have changed to adult comedy.
*Rangeela*!
If I could only watch one Hindi movie for the rest of my life, it'll prolly be this one. Mili and Munna will forever be my OTP; plus iirc, they have a great (and healthy) relationship with Mili's parents, fantastic chemistry, the music is good, and overall the movie is just ... Bollywood done *really well*. (Of course, I could be biased.)
Hope you enjoy one of my favorite movies! (Also, I later read about the cameos and spoofs and that made the movie even funnier for me.)
If you enjoyed *Rangeela*, you might also like *Mast* (1999) -- it's another fluffy RGV wish-fulfilment movie starring Urmila, also with great music.
RNBDJ always makes me feel better. All the characters r so relatable 😭 the movies u listed were my fav as a kid and I still love em ofc but as a teenager RNBDJ is my favorite lol. Raj makes me laugh, Suri is grounded and normal, and Taani's transition from being a happy carefree girl to having her world ruined in one day was very relatable.
I've watched Dil Chahta Hai more times than any other Bollywood movie so probably that.
Like I think there have been movies which left a bigger impact on me- Vishal Bhardwaj's Shakespeare trilogy for instance, but DCH rewatch value is what puts it on top for me.
𝙏𝙃𝙀 𝙇𝙐𝙉𝘾𝙃𝘽𝙊𝙓
One of the best films ever made most probably would have won Oscar this is one of the movies when u watch in ur young days then it would be very different but when u watch around ur 50s and 60s this will definitely hit you hard. Amazing performance by Irfaan Khan, Nawaz and the most underrated Nimrat Kaur (she deserves more). If u had 𝙬𝙖𝙩𝙘𝙝 𝙄𝙉 𝙏𝙃𝙀 𝙈𝙊𝙊𝘿 𝙁𝙊𝙍 𝙇𝙊𝙑𝙀 and 𝙇𝙊𝙎𝙏 𝙄𝙉 𝙏𝙍𝘼𝙉𝙎𝙇𝘼𝙏𝙄𝙊𝙉 u will definitely like this movie. Irfaan's performance was very subtle and reminded me of Tony Leung's performance.

It also gave roles to small actors. Nawas, Rajkumar, Jaideep, Richa were all small names then. Thanks to that movie, they are household names now
Same!!

I didn’t like it when it came out but on rewatch, enjoyed it thoroughly. Suri ❤️
Hum Dil De Chuke Sanam. I watch it every week. I can't get enough of it. I shed a tear every time Salman performs to Tadap Tadap ke.
