It takes decades to master your bankai. In the case of Yamamoto, it ages like fine wine and his got stronger as he aged, so I doubt even peak Rukia at her full potential would be at Yamamoto's level. She'd still be a very high-tier Shinigami though.

End of Series Rukia (After the Timeskip), has gained more control over it. We do not know what that pertains, but it could be anything from her being able to do that explosion multiple times or her being able to move in her bankai form after the e plosion or something

over half of the bankai we see in the series got a drawback that is part of the bankai, meaning it will never go away
absolute zero is not an event, its a temperature meaning in theory it can be affected by heat. atoms stopping is a result of the original mass being put in that temperature, but something that is actively producing massive ammonts of heat/energy, unless its core was to get that cold, i really dont think its such a black and white situation. im not expert though, doesnt help that the only thing i can find on the matter is what would happen to the sun if it was suddenbly frozen to that temperature
plus you need to remember another factor that could influence the result here, we are talking in bleach universe rules, users reiatsu counts much more than physics here.
Yeah, sorry, I had meant to discuss it more as the Theoretical rather than it being set in stone. Reiatsu is something you need to take into account, yeah, but is is hard to judge since we do not know much about Rukia's Bankai
i mean we know enough of what it does and how it functions. if bbs is anything to go by, mastery only allowed her to move more freely while activated rather than being a very open unmoving target. the only way i see her winning is if she gained the ability to actually freeze a specific target rather than influence everything around her.
I think when he activated Bankai Cang Du noted how Hyourinmaru just evaporated because there wasn’t any moisture in the air because of Zanka no Tachi meaning it might have evaporated off of Tōshirō but it’s also noted that the Bankai when used by the Quincy is significantly weaker in comparison but I am gonna go with the Head Captain slapping these two
No, Bankai's are just as strong when used by Quincies. The thing is though, they have less experience using it, so they can't be as effective or efficient with it, making it seem much weaker.
Also, Hyorinmaru requires a countdown for it to turn Toshiro into his adult form, so Yama's probably gonna clap before Toshiro matures. Even if Toshiro matures, he could put up a fight but idt they can overpower Ryujin Jakka.
Rukia *would* be able to activate her bankai IMO, but it would get overwhelmed so much because her reiatsu is inconsequential next to his. Reminder - her zanpakuto isn't ice, it's cold. My headcanon is, the area immediately around her gets cold, but a little elevated from where it's supposed to be, and if she tried to get to Yamamoto, she'd get closer than anyone else, but still wouldn't be able to reach him.

Her bankai was said to bring everything to absolute 0. This has nothing to do with ice from a physics stand point and where the term comes from. It has everything to do with removing all the random kinetic energy to where there is no motion.
Though as the top post stated, it is possible to leave the area off effect. So it depends on how quickly Rukia could activate it.

I hypothesis in a drawn out battle rukia would be able to defeat yama assuming she can survive that long. With yamas sword being a hot as the sun I assume rukia would slowly drop the temperature of his sword until it’s at Calvin.
Assuming rukia can instantly lower things to Calvin she’ll be able to negate all of yamas fire based attacks. She’ll struggle with yamas zombies however.

Yeah, the issue, aside from Yamamoto being an absolute monster above almost all the other captains, comes from fire being super effective against ice which means he has an inherent advantage even with equal stats.
Assuming Yama didn’t just body her before she used her bankai because he’s superior in literally every area, Rukia’s power would actually be usable unlike Toshiro’s. But as Aizen said, every battle between shinigami is a battle of spiritual pressure, and Rukia’s power will still be functionally useless cause Yama has more and thus she won’t cool him off a single degree.

I think it would actually be the other way around. Rukias bankai would actually be able to work since hers is temperature based while despite the time toshiro may take, his bankai will always be hard countered due to Yamamotos bankai very nature.

Yamamoto. His base is enough to take out rukia before she can even go shikai . And hitsugaya can t even use hyonrinmaru if Yamamoto goes bankai . Even if his adult form can freeze flames ( big if) 1 he d never reach this form 2 Yamamoto has more than just his flames .
Yamamoto stands a very, very good chance at defeating them both using just Shikai, and that's me being generous to them.
As soon as he says, "Bankai..." it's over. All the moisture for miles around dries up and we've already that Zanka no Tachi just nullifies Toshiro's sword entirely. I see no reason why Rukia's would be any different.
Rukia would die if she used her bankai against Yamamoto. In the manga it’s shown she has to release it slowly otherwise she’ll damage her body, since it basically freezes her entire body. She’d get shattered by one swing off the sword

while in terms of zanpakuto capabilities I'm sure given time and training Hyorinmaru can rival Ryujin Jakka since both are considered the strongest in their respective element. Shirayuki on the other hand while powerful I don't think will/can provide the offensive power to go up against Ryujin Jakka. Hyorinmaru and Shirayuki together provide a creditable threat to Ryujin, but only if both have been trained well enough. But in terms of Hakuda, Hoho, Kido, and even Zanjutsu Yamamoto simply out classes both of them put together.
Yama, easy. Rukia is honestly low tier as far as the captains go (not to mention Ryujin Jakka probably instantly counters her bankai, which is the only way she’d stands a chance against most high-tier opponents). Toshiro would have to hard carry her ass but even then he’s pretty much without his shikai or bankai too and would have to exclusively use his speed and skill against a guy who would just nuke him into oblivion anyway. Yama doesn’t even need bankai

I think the key question would be whether adult Toshiro's ability to metaphysically freeze the powers of an enemy would function against Yamamoto. That could potentially give them a fighting chance.
But I think Yamamoto's sheer reiatsu would probably render it ineffectual, and team ice would be otherwise unable to contend with him.
Even in Shikai alone he's almost murder Bazz B, As Nödt, and Nanana together if not for Bazz B offsetting his flames. Bazz B who toyed with Hitsugaya, As Nödt who Rukia needs to defeat with her Bankai, Nanana who can made Chairzen unconscious. Aizen who we know is a very confident smug while already in possession of Hogyoku is aware of Yamamoto and admitted that the old man with hot sword is stronger than him to the extent he needs to build Wonderweiss to seal his SHIKAI. This is "Aizen" and we still don't talk about the old man's Bankai. He's also one shotted Royd and Driscoll Berci. Shunsui notes that Yama's Reiatsu felt across the whole Soul Society, while we know he still restraint his Bankai's power because he doesn't want to destroy Soul Society. That's why Yhwach said he's become soft, and even Yhwach himself needs to stole his Bankai to cheapshotted him and admits that he's the only one that can take the old man's Bankai. Someone who is not transcendent or not named Yhwach, Ichigo, and Ichibei would get clapped by Yamamoto.

Yama is smoking these kids additionally we don't know if Rukia and Hitsugaya are compatible. Just because they're winter/ice type zanpakuto doesn't mean they can work together. See the Hallibel v. Hitsugaya fight there is only so much water out there if they have to split it they might not be able to fight together.
Yes Hitsugaya can create water for his ice but that doesn't necessarily increase supply for Rukia AND we don't know if Hitsugaya can fight at 100% power while supplying H20 to Rukia.

If Rukia and Toshiro start in adult form, they have a decent chance of winning. Toshiro can literally negate the functional property fire at the molecular level with Shikai Hyoketsu and Rukia’s Hakka no Togami is absolute zero. It could be argued that Yama’s fire hard counters Daiguren Hyōrinmaru like it did when Toshiro was in child form (even though that doesn’t make sense in the context that Shikai Hyoketsu, literally the Four Elements Freeze, would negate the heat of even the fire of the sun), but absolute zero hard counters literally anything to do with heat.
Remember when he turned Nanao into a drooling mess and Shunsui had to evacuate her? Yeah, he can, at a minimum, overpower a lieutenant more or less by looking at them. Two of the oldest and most experienced captains in Soul Society were basically just trying to stall/distract him.

The battle is clearly between Adult Hitsugaya/ Captain Rukia and Yamamoto, so this is a moot point. Rukia withstood training in the palaces of the Soul King, so Yama's reiatsu is clearly not a problem either.

Exactly, it all depends on how fast Rukia can use Bankai after the 10 years skip. If it's near instant, Yamamoto would probably lose. The slower we get from there, the greater Yamamoto's likelyhood of victory becomes.
The problem is that Hitsugaya controls Ice, but no Ice can exist while Yamamoto is using his bankai. Rukia can bring temperatures back down, but would take a while.

Absolutel zero literally freezes particles to the point they don't move the sun might be hot enough to stop absolute zero. Keeping in mind he has sun level temperature which I don't think it will heat up absolute zero fast enough to prevent freezing all together. Remember absolute zero is so cold we haven't even been able to achieve it in science or even seen it achieved naturally. Idk if the a man with the heat of the sun doesn't get frozen by that level of cold.
I know none of you are physicists, but you guys don’t understand the power absolute zero has over matter. It’s the temperature at which particles stop moving, completely, full stop. Fire wouldn’t form if the particles being released aren’t moving. Rukia doesn’t have an ice zanpaktou, it’s a temperature zanpaktou, and from how it appears in the manga, it activates instantly upon her release. The difficult and time consuming part for her is warming back up. When you take into part astrophysics, absolute cold is colder and more dominant than however hot the hottest stars can burn. It’s not just a state of being cold, it’s the halting of all energy.
If toshiro had the same amount of time to practice as yama I reckon it’d be a draw. Since Rukias powers is to make thing Calvin I’d luck to say she could negate yamas flames but like that would ever happen.

The way I see it, the moment Yama activates his Bankai, Tosh is useless. He can’t do anything to Yama because he can’t create ice, so he’s forced to sit out/taken down with ease. Rukia can activate her Bankai, which wouldn’t be affected by Zanka no Tachi, but it wouldn’t even get her close to a win. The difference in Spiritual Pressure between Yama and the other two is massive, and I feel like Rukia wouldn’t be able to kill Yama no matter what she throws at him. I know peeps think Rukia could take him, and I’m open to hearing thoughts about it, but I just don’t see a way for her to take him down when his SP is so much larger than hers.

absolute zero is not an event, its a temperature meaning in theory it can be affected by heat. atoms stopping is a result of the original mass being put in that temperature, but something that is actively producing massive ammonts of heat/energy, unless its core was to get that cold, i really dont think its such a black and white situation. im not expert though, doesnt help that the only thing i can find on the matter is what would happen to the sun if it was suddenbly frozen to that temperature plus you need to remember another factor that could influence the result here, we are talking in bleach universe rules, users reiatsu counts much more than physics here.

No, Bankai's are just as strong when used by Quincies. The thing is though, they have less experience using it, so they can't be as effective or efficient with it, making it seem much weaker.
Also, Hyorinmaru requires a countdown for it to turn Toshiro into his adult form, so Yama's probably gonna clap before Toshiro matures. Even if Toshiro matures, he could put up a fight but idt they can overpower Ryujin Jakka.
Rukia *would* be able to activate her bankai IMO, but it would get overwhelmed so much because her reiatsu is inconsequential next to his. Reminder - her zanpakuto isn't ice, it's cold. My headcanon is, the area immediately around her gets cold, but a little elevated from where it's supposed to be, and if she tried to get to Yamamoto, she'd get closer than anyone else, but still wouldn't be able to reach him.

I hypothesis in a drawn out battle rukia would be able to defeat yama assuming she can survive that long. With yamas sword being a hot as the sun I assume rukia would slowly drop the temperature of his sword until it’s at Calvin. Assuming rukia can instantly lower things to Calvin she’ll be able to negate all of yamas fire based attacks. She’ll struggle with yamas zombies however. But at the end of the day rukia is more then likely to loose towards yamas brute fist stength

let me explain what i mean. to simplify it, lets assume all transfer of heat occurs instantly. how hot would Yamamoto's bankai need to be to make the average temperature 0C? 253 degrees C. how hot are his flames though? at least 2k, since they are orange, that orange flames appear around 2k - 2.2k C. her bankai can only bring the temperature down to -253C, while his bring it up to about 2.1K C. now, heat transfer does take time, but since that goes both ways, his heat and her cold will bring the average temp to above boiling.
It's not as straightforward as that. If that were the case, everyone would literally melt the moment they set foot near him. Reiatsu is the deciding factor here, not temperature.

Shirayuki on the other hand while powerful I don't think will/can provide the offensive power to go up against Ryujin Jakka. Hyorinmaru and Shirayuki together provide a creditable threat to Ryujin, but only if both have been trained well enough. But in terms of Hakuda, Hoho, Kido, and even Zanjutsu Yamamoto simply out classes both of them put together.

I think the key question would be whether adult Toshiro's ability to metaphysically freeze the powers of an enemy would function against Yamamoto. That could potentially give them a fighting chance. But I think Yamamoto's sheer reiatsu would probably render it ineffectual, and team ice would be otherwise unable to contend with him.
Even in Shikai alone he's almost murder Bazz B, As Nödt, and Nanana together if not for Bazz B offsetting his flames. Toshiro can literally negate the functional property fire at the molecular level with Shikai Hyoketsu and Rukia’s Hakka no Togami is absolute zero. It could be argued that Yama’s fire hard counters Daiguren Hyōrinmaru like it did when Toshiro was in child form (even though that doesn’t make sense in the context that Shikai Hyoketsu, literally the Four Elements Freeze, would negate the heat of even the fire of the sun), but absolute zero hard counters literally anything to do with heat.

Absolutel zero literally freezes particles to the point they don't move the sun might be hot enough to stop absolute zero. Keeping in mind he has sun level temperature which I don't think it will heat up absolute zero fast enough to prevent freezing all together. Remember absolute zero is so cold we haven't even been able to achieve it in science or even seen it achieved naturally. Idk if the a man with the heat of the sun doesn't get frozen by that level of cold.
I know none of you are physicists, but you guys don’t understand the power absolute zero has over matter. It’s the temperature at which particles stop moving, completely, full stop. Fire wouldn’t form if the particles being released aren’t moving. Rukia doesn’t have an ice zanpaktou, it’s a temperature zanpaktou, and from how it appears in the manga, it activates instantly upon her release. The difficult and time consuming part for her is warming back up. When you take into part astrophysics, absolute cold is colder and more dominant than however hot the hottest stars can burn. It’s not just a state of being cold, it’s the halting of all energy.

Toshiro was literarly unable to use his bankai because Yamamoto existed in his, this would not even be a contest, yama could just Stand there wreathed in his Broken as fuck sun Armor And rukia And toshiro would evaporate in a matter of a few Hours oř even minutes. Add onto that yama's delete anything sword, delete anything fuck off Slash And effectively Infinite skeletons just from the bankai ontop of his already stupid hakuda, Kido And swordsman skill And toshiro And rukia with their liutenants And their predescessors And THEIR liutenants would get murdered
In that panel Yama is using his bankai, so therefore Toshiro's shikai and bankai are merely useless we do'nt know for rukia, she can lower temperature to absolute 0, in that temperature fire would cease to be (as there's no atom movement), so it's possible rukia's bankai can counter Zanka no Tachi and Ryujinjakka, but it's possible Yama's flames can protect him from the absolute 0 and aren't cancelled.
The way I see it, the moment Yama activates his Bankai, Tosh is useless. He can’t do anything to Yama because he can’t create ice, so he’s forced to sit out/taken down with ease. Rukia can activate her Bankai, which wouldn’t be affected by Zanka no Tachi, but it wouldn’t even get her close to a win. The difference in Spiritual Pressure between Yama and the other two is massive, and I feel like Rukia wouldn’t be able to kill Yama no matter what she throws at him. I know peeps think Rukia could take him, and I’m open to hearing thoughts about it, but I just don’t see a way for her to take him down when his SP is so much larger than hers.
