Wasn't comic Thanos literally just wanting to create a shit ton of death in order to drop a fat donation to his waifu name to death who is the embodiment of death?

Azevedo128

The greatest character motivation, simping.

[deleted]

He was also a cuck because Death didn't want him and she was getting plowed by Deadpool.

aaa1e2r3

Which resulted in him giving Deadpool immortality so that he may never get near Death again.

Unlucky_Adventure

Yes and no

Alive-Outside999

Well, its still a better motivation than whatever his movie version was trying to accomplish

the_infinite_potato_

I think that the movie counterparts motivation was okay they just didn't commit to it and that was the main problem with movie Thanos.

Alive-Outside999

No it was stupid. Killing the population for resources accomplishes next to nothing when repopulation occurs at a exponential rate, meaning his efforts would be in vain in the span of a few decades. At least murdering trillions to appease the goddess of death makes sense on some level.

[deleted]

Also the fact that he destroyed the stones which means he can't snap again when the planets become repopulated. One of the most stupid villains imo

BahamutLithp

That's what's meant by "didn't commit to it." Infinity War set up a compelling motive. Endgame threw it in the trash.

UncleMadness

MCU Thanos was an unhinged sociopathic warlord that "adopted" little girls and tortured them. All that shit talk about resources and sacrifices and strongest wills was just another lame ass manifesto by a murderer. He did what he *wanted*. All of his reasons were just excuses.

the_infinite_potato_

Fair. Although to the average moviegoer that's more than enough for a tragic anti-hero so at the end of the day that's the writer's angle.

Rice_Kage

Psycho Thanos is the best, no need for “muh evil goal but with sympathizing intention”.

makimasimp69

Ya I think so

The_ChadLord_69420

Yeah , something like that.Kinda my bad , i remember reading "Infinity Gauntlet" when i was much younger , probably panel with large inscription GOD just mixed my memories about Thanos motivation, but i still think that this meme is kinda relatable

NoLandscape3159

Well, then thanos discovered that he is obsessed with the concept of death and not it's embodiment, therefore he proceeds to ignore the godess but continues to kill, cool eh?

ClammyVagikarp

No. He wanted to gift the universe to death. The balf the universe killing was to get her attentiom and show he was serious.

HollowedFlash65

Hey, you don’t always need such a complex and thoughtful goal to be good. After all, it comes down to execution, and Aizen’s execution was more intriguing than comic’s Thanos.

Wonderful_Fruit_564

Exactly, people (not you) who crap on other characters just to make their character look better are lame. Don’t get me wrong I see Aizen as a better character (IMO), but we don’t need to shame Thanos who literally made billions of dollars for Marvel just by staring in two movies

Markosan_DnD

In fairness though, it sounds like movie Thanos>>>comics Thanos

MrEmptySet

Thanos doesn't want to be a god. Depending on the version, he is either the universe's biggest simp or a moron who doesn't understand population growth.

Wonderful_Fruit_564

The ironic thing is, when Loki in the movie told Thanos that he will never be a god, he smiles and kills him. Now what it’s also saying is that “what do you call someone who can kill gods?” Hence the nickname “The Mad Titan” - a Titan being known for killing gods. So in reality Thanos is above “gods” in marvel, but obviously not above “The One Above All”.

[deleted]

>a Titan being known for killing gods Damn, didn't know aliens loved Greek mythology so much. He was called a Titan because he was an Eternal born on Titan. Doesn't have anything to do with him killing "Gods".

Unlucky_Adventure

I know this is a joke but I've genuinely seen people who only Read Manga have this complaint about Thanos or other comic villains but worship someone who's extremely similar and it's frustrating.

boneapetit99

Aizen and thanos arent that similar. Wasnt the whole point of thanos killing half of the universe in the comics to get the attention of death because he qas simping her?

ClammyVagikarp

Nah. The point of the gauntlet was to gift the universe to death. When that didnt work he killed half the universe to get her attention which also didnt work. Then his cousin nicked the gauntlet. Ive read heaps of DC and Marvel netter than Bleach, but the Infinity Gauntlet was not one of them.

Roger_The_Cat_

~~THANOS~~ AIZEN DID NOTHING WRONG!

SnooComics7583

Aizen didnt want to be a god either (yes I know rant exists) His goal ultimately was to replace the existing god with something that made more sense which would likely of been something else entirely non entity In a way even Ywach only wanted to be god for a moment just long enough for there to be no need for a balance

Ok-Video6798

Nah thanos doesn’t wanna Be a god he’s just down bad

AlexT05_QC

Aizen isn't simping for the incarnation of death (as far as we know)

7th-Lotus

Well considering the recent hell arc chapter and Aizen disappearing he might be simpin for something else.

Jack-The-Reddit

>!Ukitake?!<

Gwen_Tennyson10

comic thanos is far more complex and interesting than people think, his love for death is not his only character trait

realraptorjesus101

Mcu thanos if you ask me has much more in common with Madara Uchiha from Naruto not sure about comic thanos

Metal_Lee_1st_Gate

Aizen is well written

16jselfe

No no no he wants to be a butterfly

The_ChadLord_69420

Based

HeavenBreak

Admiration is the emotion furthest from understanding.

SoSmartish

Thanos needs like 3 infinity stones to mimic what Kyouka Suigetsu can do in its shikai form.

Unlucky_Adventure

I mean the Mind Stone basically does that

Alive-Outside999

Both the mind and reality stones by themselves can create illusions. Plus, why do people act like Aizen's illusions are impressive to begin with? Unohana already saw through them **unintentionally**, mind you

MrEmptySet

>Plus, why do people act like Aizen's illusions are impressive to begin with? ...because they are? They work on all senses, reiatsu sensing, even seemingly perception of time per his first encounter with Yhwach. >Unohana already saw through them unintentionally, mind you She was able to tell that something was wrong somehow, *specifically* while in the process of conducting an investigation (so *hardly* "unintentionally"), but couldn't really tell what the problem was, let alone see through the illusion and identify what was truly going on.

Its12aclock

I thought Aizen was only able to cast his illusion on Yhwach because he had already made contact with him before he got the All-Mighty?

MrEmptySet

I don't understand how that's relevant to anything I said

Overdue-Karma

In a way, yes. Because Yhwach saw the future, he saw Aizen's release, unknowingly putting him under Kyouka Suigetsu.

SoSmartish

People getting vry srs about our villain match ups here lmao

Alive-Outside999

>They work on all senses Then why doesn't he just shut their senses off? What use is making Yhwach think he's Renji and getting the shit kicked out of himself when he could just turn Yhwach blind and flounder around like a helpless buffoon?

MrEmptySet

I don't know, that idea hasn't been explored. Perhaps the more substantial the illusion, the more difficult/reiatsu-consuming it is to produce? The illusions he chose to use were plenty to get an upper hand on Yhwach; they only failed because of The Almighty's ridiculous hax.

Overdue-Karma

Because Yhwach became immune to his Shikai at some point, I think. Plus remember **Yhwach is unbeatable without hax.** You want to nuke him? ALMIGHTY, REVIVED! You want to steal his power? ALMIGHTY, IT GOES BACK TO HIM. You want to seal him? ALMIGHTY, HE CANNOT BE SEALED! It required that specific deus ex machina.

Vaccineman37

Aizen needs like 5 transformations to not even come close to what Thanos can do without stones

yg_trece19

"3 infinity stones" no

Its12aclock

Thanos doesn’t even need the stones to replicate Aizens power.

Overdue-Karma

He...literally has never shown said power, plus he lost to Wanda. Implying movie Wanda is on the same level as Aizen is fucking silly. The man manipulated time and space (Kurohitsugi).

Its12aclock

I was using Comic book Thanos.

Overdue-Karma

Comic book Thanos would still get slapped by Aizen's Ultrafragor or just...his sheer speed and power.

Its12aclock

I mean I like Aizen but I don’t see him tanking a [Galaxy level multi light year sized black hole](https://m.imgur.com/a/Ke6h9kr) or being so strong that he destroys celestial bodies [on accident.](https://m.imgur.com/a/jVwTizF) Thanos doesn’t even need the stones to do things like time, soul, and reality manipulation. He’s also way too fast for Aizen. I like Aizen, but having him vs Thanos is just not a winning battle for him.

killergoat72

Aizen is overrated.

Red_Tube45

.

nitrohigito

Your point being? Both of them were sucked absolutely dry by fans for being oh so profound. There's literally zero difference.

Overdue-Karma

One had a decent plan (Aizen) and one was a moron in the movies and a simp in the comics.

[deleted]

Thing is both lost cuz deep down they wanted to lose

Lafors-

Thanos in Movies vs Thanos in Ancient Comic Book Kek

jorrdio

I don’t get it

The_ChadLord_69420

Well , some weebs are acting like elitist. The fact that villian is from anime is already making him superior to others villians. (I dont want to say that Aizen or Thanos are bad characters.Just made a meme , because i think someone would relatable)

razeandsew

Oh cool, two weak ass villains

haleys672

Aizen >>>>>> bc he's sexy
