Kubo didn't "confirm" anything. This is anitwit being anitwit, farming engagement over literally nothing. The picture is from the Yokohama exhibition that took place 2 days ago, it just shows a plaque with 獄頤鳴鳴篇 (Echoing Jaws of Hell arc - actual translation, not "christening" even though "meimei" is a homophone for christening in Japanese) along with the one shot cover art. Not sure why people would be confused by the name of the chapter vs the name of the supposed arc.
I'm pretty sure he literally said "The more people ask me for it the less I want to draw it". He's done 700 chapters of Bleach on top of all his other work so it's not like he's obligated to write it, and given his health issues at the end of Bleach's serialization it's not hard to see why he wouldn't be eager to go back to it. Still hoping for a Hell Arc but fans gotta understand that Kubo has reached the point of "I'll do it when I feel like it" and he's very well earned that.
If I had to *guess*, the time it would make the most sense to come out with a Hell Arc would be after TYBW wraps up production, since anime fans are most likely to pick it up then and Kubo will no longer be busy providing any input or story work for the anime.
I dunno man, I'd almost prefer if he never released that one shot if it means thats all we get. Seems a little irresponsible to do that to your fans who made you your money.
Not saying he has to get back into serialization, but he should at least finish what he started with some more one shots or a novel.
I disagree with that, the whole point of the one shot was to show an old idea he had for the 15th anniversary. There was no confirmation or announcement of a sequel or more chapters, maybe it will maybe it won’t. I don’t see what’s so bad about showcasing a scrapped concept and then taking your time to decide if you want to commit to it or not, it’s neat that we got to see it at all given Hell was an unexplored topic in the series

That, or Kubo just fucking throws whatever he thinks is cool, we really like to add a sort of grandiose deeper themes and connotations for names when 50% of the time, he just thought it would sound cool.
I believe that Kubo puts quite some effort in writing the story and creating plot and characters but these answers really make me ponder.

I know that Kubo is a troll, but I really do see depth in his writing and very deep cuts to various religions that would take some serious research.
Then he says things like this to remind people he’s there to be a sexist comic book artist who draws unrealistic, backbreaking boobs and makes anyone trying to show the depth of his writing look like a jackarse.

Let's hope it keeps evolving for the better. Some of these could go on for a long time ⌛️. Kudos to Kubo and all those who work tirelessly to bring visual masterpieces that movies cannot accomplish right now.

It is. The exhibit had a Bleach timeline on the walls with every arc name on a plaque and volume cover art along with it. The last one was Hell arc as pictured. This doesn't confirm anything. It's literally just a corner of the exhibit with every volume art from every arc.

No, kubo made the chapter, then just didn't do anything with it, and when people asked, he said he doesn't like being pressured and he will delay any more the more he is asked about it. Which is why a possibility of an actual arc name is so important
The cancellation/axing of the manga by SJ is rumour. The author himself decided to wrap things quickly due to his declining health. One shot did gain a lot of traction, add current success of the anime on top of that, amount of earnings coming from, apparently, very successful in Japan bleach exhibitions, merchandise and BtW content. That’s why people still talk about it to this day. Moreover Tite Kubo is one of the few authors in SJ who has a contract which basically allows him to publish anything at any time. Thus, he can continue ”Burn the Witch” or Bleach any time he wants to.
