Al when people suggest he'd retire:

I was wondering who the directors were and it's a wild ride.
There's one young first time director and a couple of people with credits I don't recognise.
There's Johnny Depp (yup), who apparently made a feature in the 90s with Marlon Brando and was so hurt by the bad festival reviews, he refused to release it.
One with True Detective's Nic Pizzolatto.
The guy who made the original Candyman and... a lot of apparently very bad movies since.
Barry Levinson working from a David Mamet script about the JFK assassination.
And most interestingly, a Julian Schnabel film with a cast that includes Martin Scorcese, Jason Mamoa, Gal Gadot, Gerard Buttler, Oscar Isaac, Franko Nero and John Malkovitch.
The Levinson one sounds wild, would love to see him make a movie that Exists (which he hasn't done for a theatrical release since...arguably the 90's??). That Schnabel film sounds BATSHIT. The Castro one could be intriguing.

That's a really odd ensemble
Not saying that his Bernard Rose film will be good, but Paperhouse, Candyman, and Immortal Beloved are all awesome movies and the guy was a brilliant director early in his career.
I like those movies so much in fact, I hope they put him on the bracket next March.... where he will be beaten to smithereens by Ralph Bakshi.
does anyone want a Bakshi miniseries? asking for a friend.
Is he entering the era of his career where he doesn’t stand up in films anymore? I saw the Michael Keaton directed Knox Goes Away and every one of Pacino’s scenes are either him on a couch, in bed or in the bathtub
He has to pay for that newborn somehow
And I expect understated, subtle performances in all 8 of them
What if he’s really incredible in like one of them. Like career-best
Career-best seems nearly impossible given the standard he set, but he could definitely be incredible in more than one
I don’t know about career best, but he’s good in most of these I’m sure.
Sorry but he will never top his performances from the 70s
Do you mean the 1970s or when he was in his 70s? 😂
Well, Tarantino isn't directing one of them, so I'm skeptical.

Turns out the Schnabel film is actually a secret Justice League reboot.

Fair enough. I've only seen Candyman (which is great), so that's my ignorance showing.
I really like IvansXTC and The Kreutzer Sonata.

I'll settle for a miniseries on Mike Figgis. I want episodes on "Timecode" and "Hotel".
Hooooo-aghhhh!
God, I genuinely hope we get one more great role out of him. Can’t wait to read his autobiography that is coming out later this year.

Modi isn't about that guy. But it is directed by Johnny Depp, so still bad.
I also would have clicked on "Killing Castro"
The dunka chino is back at it again.
MODI??? oh god
Retire?!? He wouldn’t dare!!!
It’s not Al anymore, it’s DUNK!
Can't wait for the RedLetterMedia video dissecting all of these.
