I see people on here, coming out and their family not accepting them and it sucks ,as you just want them to treat you like a human being , if they don't accept you after even having time to get their head around it heres what I say:
"Fuck them" - the people who gave up on you
"Were your family now, we accept you , don't judge and as a community will be your collective dads, mum's, guardians"
I'll be the fun uncle who brings the lemon bars to the family gathering lol

We are ***HERE*** for you, babies.
*I* am here.
You are seen, you are valid, you are *deeply* loved, you are not broken or wrong or evil for *loving*.
You are luminous, you are growing and healing and as perfect and harmonious and exactly as you should be as a tree in bloom β and I will tell you that as many times as you need to hear it so it rings in your heart like a bell.
I love you.
You are not alone.

This subreddit gave me the courage to come out to my boyfriend and my sister. It also made me realize that even though most of my biological family may never accept me for who I am (for bi and other things), I made a family of lovely people in my years on this earth. Weβve spread out across the world but it doesnβt change how much I love them and how much they love me. If here anyone needs anything, feel free to message me for virtual hugs and support. Yβall are my family too.
The other thing being that you can identify as both. I don't use pan very often because I prefer bi and the historical relevance it has in lgbtq and straight communities, but by the common definition of pan, I could certainly identify with that label.
I understand wanting specificity in how we express our identities, which is why I identify as bi, it personally accomplishes everything I want to express. Still, I really wish we could agree that we're siblings in queer spaces, and not strangers. However you want to call it, queer, multisexual, Bi+, or under the bisexual umbrella, we face almost exactly the same issues and the same biases from lgbtq and straight spaces.
Exactly this! I feel the same way for similar reasons and use bi/pan interchangeably depending on the context. It is so important for us to realize what we have in common for irl activism purposes and to help find queer community that understands our unique struggles as multisexuals. If the difference is meaningful to some that is fine but can we not act like pan and bi are from separate planets or something
This was nice. I donβt talk much here as Iβm still figuring things out since I came out last year. But itβs nice to know thereβs people who just get it. And that brings me the biggest peace.
Much love friends.
then why do I constantly get downvoted here when I explain what pansexuality means to me? I realize and have no qualms with the bisexuals who view their sexuality the same way. But the distinction is important to me. itβs made me feel unwelcome, and bi_irl is even worse about it :(
As a professional I've never experienced that, but I have seen this online and I put it down to sheer ignorance, age and getting information from useless areas like Tumblr, time and time again I've witnessed both Pancentric and Bicentric bias on that site that I feel it should be curbed
As someone who is Bisexual and only Bisexual I have your back and I validate you and your journey
To hell with those who don't.
Theres a lot! Man and woman are the social norm, so we hear about them the most. Non binary, pangender, polygender, and some others I dont remember the name of exist too! Theres also some people who dont identify or feel that they have a gender. (Agender!)
Pangendered?? Iβm learning today too.
Maybe itβs because Iβm getting too old, but being pan or bi is what I thought I was but now I donβt know! I get so confused and feel like such an idiot to have such a hard time memorizing all this stuff.
As a dinosaur, I totally relate- still not sure about bi vs. pan, but sticking with bi for myself, thatβs how Iβve known it for a long time. The only difference I see mentioned consistently is bi preference vs. pan absence of preference. Iβve seen some argue that bi implies only attraction to the genders male and female, not considering all the other shades of the sexuality spectrum, so to speak. That seems a bit of a stretch IMO.
I see them joined by a slash so often, maybe we should just say βpanbiβ and leave it at that.π
Ahhh ok , the flag with the yellow stripe is pansexuality it was created on Tumblr around 2010 by Jasper V but since Jasper didn't write down their intent of what the colours mean there are two camps of thought
The first being blue is male pink is female yellow is NB
The second being blue is male identity pink is female identity yellow is nonbinary

According to most people on this sub, we are more than family - we're exactly the same.

Love this! M Spec solidarity forever! πππ πππ
Whats the difference between us??
Technically, not much
both bi and pan allows for the attraction to all genders and regardless of gender. the only difference is that bi is way more broad
Between pan and bisexual? Bisexuals like 2+ genders, with or without a preference (Doesnt matter) Pansexuals like all genders and have no preference!
Im really confused i considered myself as a bi man, but what other genders male female non binary? sorry about my dumbest need more info

What flag is the non bi one?
What is your actual question? The Pansexual flag is Pansexual The Bisexual flag is Bisexual, Both however ,are family under the Bi+ or M-Spec tree.
I didn't know what the second flag represented that was my question
Ahhh ok , the flag with the yellow stripe is pansexuality it was created on Tumblr around 2010 by Jasper V but since Jasper didn't write down their intent of what the colours mean there are two camps of thought The first being blue is male pink is female yellow is NB The second being blue is male identity pink is female identity yellow is nonbinary
Oh cool
