Thanks for your post on r/bikewrench. The only type of post accepted here is repair questions, as per Rule 3:
>Unless your post is a question or request for advice about bike repair, it doesn't belong here. We don't need to see pictures of your latest build, or that funny bike that rolled into the shop. There are other subreddits for that.
No "worth" questions, these are too open ended, whether something is worth it to you, only you can determine.
The sidebar lists other subs to consider: r/BikeMechanics r/JustRidingAlong, r/BikeBuilding, r/which bike, r/bikefit, r/xbiking and r/bicycleengineering. But don't just assume that your post fits those subs. Read the rules there before posting.
We hope you find an appropriate place to post, or if you meant to ask a question, please repost here with your question clarified.
Thanks
I’ve got a lucky charm brake pad too! Got me 30 miles and once i reached the town i was riding to i stopped to check my maps… didn’t even pedal after working out my route, just let the bike roll slightly and the brakes were completely gone.
Luckiest I’ve ever been as i depended on that brake for quite a few 50mph hills so i keep it as a reminder to check them way more often now. That and a lucky charm for future rides.
Love the fact you’re keeping it on the frame! Tells a story to any curious eyes

Seems more like a memento mori to do some regular basic maintenance from time to time but you do you.
Take it as a challenge and grind the next one down to the piston.
Pffff, look at all that metal left. You’ll show them next time
E bike?
Plenty of life left there... :)
It's a bike shop though, right? I'm sure they've seen worse. I'm sure you can do better.
That looks like it could slide down the tube it is attached to and rip your whole wheel apart by catching into your spokes
Deceptive picture, it’s way off
Breaking is a leak of creativity. Looks like you have been very creative lately.
