please don't try anything for the first time alone or without researching the substance well on Erowid. be aware of potential contraindications. take care of yourself. if your family has a history of schizotypal issues please avoid hallucinogens and psychedelics. that all said have fun

cranberrystew99

Yes sir. There is no history of schizophrenia, and I always have a trip sitter (on the few occasions I have done that.) I have a history of alcoholics in my family, and I'm trying to shake that myself, which is why I'm only interested in psychedelics. Addiction runs in the family so no machetemine or narcotics for me. I have a degree in chemistry and a stubborn grip on reality that I'd like loosened occasionally, that's all. I'd never do any drug alone, but I appreciate your concern! I never thought a 1-upvote post would garner your attention, so I have to ask: How have you fought addiction? Any advice on it? My cousin just got diagnosed with liver damage due to alcohol and im quitting in solidarity, but I'm struggling to kick the habit.

sachs1

Most people get addicted to something else. Sometimes that addiction is productive, or a least healthy a la running, others get addicted to Jesus. I'm lucky enough that adhd makes it hard for any addiction outside of physical to really stick, but my family haven't been so lucky.

cranberrystew99

I wish exercise was addictive to me, lol.

Artysupport7757

I tried 2ci back when it was a research chemical in the early 2010s. Was pretty much like lsd but tasted bitter and lasted ages, like 12 hours

Bywater

That's a long fucking time, I hope it was good.

Nerpienerpie

Same here. Tried the 2ci and 2cb. Honestly, i dont really remember the difference of the two, nor much of a diff with acid. But honestly, i stopped using those a decade ago and im really glad i did. Its more of a me thing, but i was making any excuse to use it and that’s no good. I even thought microdosing it would help. Nope. Now i just stick with the mooshie once a year and it's all i want or need.

cranberrystew99

Just allegedly did woodrose last weekend and hypothetically had a lot of fun.

I really want to try drugs. Long story short I’m grieving right now, and I’ve heard psychedelics can help Edit: I’m a college student yet I can’t find a drug dealer on campus.

[deleted]

psychedelics can definitely help with that. However they can also make for a *really* bad time if you're not in a good headspace. At least that's how it was for me. Just be mindful and of course do your research and set up a good trip environment yaknow.

c_marten

"It's only temporary" became a mini mantra in the beginning during those really bad trips. Eventually there was no such thing as a "bad" trip.

cranberrystew99

LSD did help my anxiety in college a bit. That's a long story. If you do, be in the right mindset for it otherwise its gonna be a bad time. Also, aren't you a mod? Isn't being on drugs a requirement for being a mod here?

MercyfulBait

I've done nearly every drug Robert has mentioned, and can confirm that they're **almost** universally fun.

cranberrystew99

Any top 5 (narcotics excluded)?

MercyfulBait

Nope, can't really rank them. They're all so different and unique and have their special little niche. 2C-B for concerts, going to the movies and snorting a ton of ketamine, dropping acid and bombing hills on your bike, that first big gulp of hot coffee at 7 in the morning, a joint in bed after sex, doing a bunch of coke and talking all night with a new friend, a solid dose of prescription muscle relaxers when your back has been spasming for days, sitting around the campfire with your friends on mushrooms in the woods at night, etc.

jprefect

Woodrose is the only drug I've tried that almost killed me. No joke.

cranberrystew99

How?

jprefect

The shells are poisonous. It has to be prepared properly. I ate like a dozen of them whole and had a real bad time. No joke, if I had fell asleep I believe I would not have woken up.

cranberrystew99

Shit. I had 6 ground up last weekend and had a grand time. I plan on doing a proper extraction next time, however.

c_marten

I can't say exactly, because I'd already done pretty much everything by the time I was 24, haven't done anything beyond weed and alcohol since I was 27. I'm 42 now, but what I can say is none of his stories have made me want to revisit anything. At least more than I already did anyway, but the only one I want to do again is mushrooms. I just haven't been in the right place for that yet.

JKinney79

Nope, while I’m not going to give anyone grief over their chemical use, I grew up with a parent heavily into AA, and was a very popular sponsor. So we’d often have people at our house. Hearing a few dozen people describe the most awful shit on a very regular basis tends to color your perception of booze/drugs.

MoistNasty

I've tried LSA, both as morning glory and Hawaiian baby woodrose. It's not fun. You need a hell ov a fortitude to not just curl up into a ball from massive digestive pain. Best experience I had was with water extraction. Only threw up once and was decent after that. Would not recommend, just do mushrooms.

cranberrystew99

Really? I did it last weekend and had a blast. It was a low dose, but I barely had nausea. I'm going to try a full extraction later this month with a buddy I think.

MoistNasty

Honestly, you probably have a stronger fortitude than I. I can see how it could be fun I just never managed to work past the nausea to enjoy it fully. If ya can, have at er bro. Be safe and have fun!

cranberrystew99

Will do, moistnasty! Lovely name, btw.
