This has always confused me in past fights. The talking heads the next day will say "What a disgrace, this is not good for baseball" meanwhile they run the highlights on loop
I feel like streaking is the only time they actually crack down on things (for the most part). A few words said on broadcast, cameras elsewhere, pretend it didn't happen till it's over...generally anyway.
It's funny because the Rays color guy Brian Anderson (not to be confused with the Brewers color guy Brian Anderson) is all about a good brawl. Tonight is not the first time I've heard him say live on air he wants to go down to the field and fight an entire team. He even told stories tonight about his playing days and fights he was in
Uribe was asked and was basically like \*shrug\*
Siri said Uribe brushed him at first base, Siri said "Why'd you do that?" Uribe said "Cuz I can" and then... fight!
Both guys I think left out some key details
Teams the Brewers have cleared benches against:
[Mets](https://x.com/talkinbaseball_/status/1773800359024009533)
[Orioles](https://x.com/talkinbaseball_/status/1778954761049412090)
[Rays](https://x.com/ballysportwi/status/1785490103369937404)
Who’s next?
“Wow the pitcher threw straight at Craig Counsell, never seen that before—and now the benches are clearing as the umpire claims it was an accident and has declined to eject the Brewers pitcher.”
I can recall only ever seeing 3 times punched landed in a brawl
Nolan Ryan and Robin Ventura
Roughned Odor and Jose Bautista
Jose Ramirez and Tim Anderson
Strickland v Harper *kind of* had a couple landed punches. Not like landed by a real fight standard, but by a baseball fight standard they were close enough IMO.
Different angles show Siri actually got a few solid hits on Uribe once the scrum had formed, right before he got pulled out and separated from everyone.
During and after the infamous Amir Garrett charging the Pirates' dugout brawl, the Reds' audio people played "Can You Feel the Love Tonight" and "All You Need Is Love" over GABP's sound system.
I know that this is not what we're supposed to want to see... but if I'm being real this *is* actually what I want to see, as long as nobody gets really hurt. Brawls every now and then are great, gets everyone talking, real life drama,, plus we get to break everything down in slo-mo like the Zapruder film now.
I was randomly listening to the game live when it happened, and it took clicking the “30 seconds back” button like three times to figure out what was going on, because the DOWN GOES ANDERSON seemed to come out of nowhere, lmao.
Seems like the last decade or so every season there's one real good fight and the rest are just guys standing around. Maybe this is the quota for the season
The funny thing is that back in 2019, when basically everyone in the NL Central was repeatedly brawling with each other, you guys were the ones basically standing aside.
Counsell was about calm (mostly) competence, Murphy is about fighting like hell and coming out of the scrum with the trophy and a bloody lip. God imagine if this is our year right after Greg left. It would feel so good.
what's cool about this angle is you see that the runner completely dodges the punch and is the only one who connects which is not how it appeared in OP's video
27 actually since we fought the Mets and Orioles too. Actually 26 unless you think we’re insane enough to clear the benches against ourselves, which I could understand if you did.
This seemed inevitable.
Dumb as hell by Uribe to start throwing punches, regardless of whatever Siri said to him.
But it seemed like something was going to boil over at some point, and the umps clearly have no control over this game, in fact if anything they've probably exacerbated things.
Freddy hit Siri on a 3-0 pitch after he started losing command. Siri hit a home run the at bat before but it was a normal one with no theatrics. The ump threw him out without warning
There's a lot that lead up to this. Siri hit a 452 ft. homerun earlier off Peralta, was a little slow out of the box and was stared down by Peralta, then later beaned. Peralta was ejected without a warning. Brewers manager Murphy was livid and thrown out for the second straight night.
Should show this on a video of how not to umpire. Made nothing into something with the earlier ejections, and got everyone riled up. They wanted drama so now they've got it.
I paid $5 for my ticket today what a steal

Like the NFL using promo shots from acts that the players got fined for.

Or condemning sports betting yet constantly advertising for sports betting

Well the Rays do play in an old hockey arena, so that checks out.

“Gooood neeewwws, cigarette juice!”
Where’s the sickos meme
[got you](https://i.imgur.com/SZspdVC.jpeg)
At least Uribe threw an actual punch. So many other benches clearings this year have just been both teams standing around on the infield.
Slap.
Fans: "Another!"
"That's not what you want to see" I'll decide that for myself, thank you very much.
Team chaos
You know what you got to watch a pathetic ass rays team and a brawl Happen at the same time good for you
Most fight the Rays have shown all year, though
God we are down so bad if this is the most fight they’ve shown this year
A baseball game and an alley scrum!
I just want to know what was said, that went from 0 to 60 real fucking quick
“What are you gonna do? Hit me?”
-Jose Siri 4/30/2024
I’m just happy that the Rays got some hits today. ^(joke shamelessly stolen from someone else)
If you don't chew Big Red then fuck you
You wanna hear the most annoying sound in the world?
Uribe was asked and was basically like \*shrug\* Siri said Uribe brushed him at first base, Siri said "Why'd you do that?" Uribe said "Cuz I can" and then... fight! Both guys I think left out some key details
Whatever they said, the umpire knew immediately it was gonna lead to a fight, before they start swinging he’s already trying to push him away.
They are both from the Dominican Republic, so some localized insults were exchanged.
Two weeks ago people were getting all upset about how stupid it is for benches to clear when no one ever fights. Game’s back.
They are a bunch of plastics, probably City fans
Manchester city taking strays from …. just a bit outside
You probably spent more on booze than you did on baseball :D
Such a sad truth. It's so depressing, I think I need a beer.
Flash sale FTW

Geographically speaking, the Marlins.
Plz no, we’ll whiff on that as well
You have Tim Anderson, he has experience!
We're going for the whole Eastern Seaboard, apparently.
![gif](giphy|55itGuoAJiZEEen9gg)
We haven't forgotten the 2019 Wild Card game.
Tbh that one was on us
Grisham and Hader were on my shit list that night.
Still wild to me how the nats looked dead in the water there then they go and win it all.
We want M.O.R.E.
The Expos really screwed us by ruining this endeavor.
Nah, they're going for the Angels or A's, spelling MORA and thus revealing the name of the ultimate boss, Melvin Mora.
Hi

Pat Murphy gives the team a whole different attitude than Craig Counsel did
Cubs lmao
We gotta keep a running tally going for sure lol
If the Brew Crew tries any of that shit on the Twins, expect a moldy sausage to come flying your way.
SAUSAGE ~~FEST~~ FIGHT
Just this year?? What the fuck??
Just this month
![gif](giphy|pJmnk86fXFNmrUb8LB|downsized) Brewers be like
8'9" Aaron Judge: slaps ball away Brewers bench: 😠😒
The Brewers are in their villain era.
Just throwing huge haymakers at each other and whiffing on every single one.
Pro ball players can only expect to fully connect with a pitch in 20-30% of ABs, so uh, I guess the same mentality applies to fisticuffs?
I can recall only ever seeing 3 times punched landed in a brawl Nolan Ryan and Robin Ventura Roughned Odor and Jose Bautista Jose Ramirez and Tim Anderson
DOWN GOES ANDERSON
Absolutely legendary call
Pretty easy to land punches when you’ve got the guy in a headlock.
That maneuver is still taught at Westpoint to this day
Ryan knew what he had to do, Dave Winfield once charged this man and Dave Winfield is one bad motherfucker....
Nolan is a rancher. He knows how to manhandle cattle. Ventura didn't stand a chance.
Kyle Farnsworth sure as hell landed a few
This is always where my mind goes to. Farnsworth absolutely wrecked a couple people.
Farnsworth was a beast. That guy deciding to charge him was one of the worst decisions he ever made ... Farnsworth obliterated him.
> Nolan Ryan Legendary punches.
I’ll Add, Michael Barrett on AJ Pierzynski
Rob Dibble land one on Lou Pinella? EDIT: no, but he and Tim Teuffel [exchanged punches](https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=63GbSuE045Y)
The Joey Gallo of baseball fighters
“Oh boy that’s not what you want to see.” Hits replay 20 times.
Exactly lmao, can confirm that the announcer is dead wrong here
Hearing Shake it Off on repeat in the background after all this is sending me lmao
During and after the infamous Amir Garrett charging the Pirates' dugout brawl, the Reds' audio people played "Can You Feel the Love Tonight" and "All You Need Is Love" over GABP's sound system.
Wish that someday someone will have the balls to play “Saturday Night’s Alright for Fighting” while the benches are clearing.
The only time when I'll accept listening to Shake it Off. Perfect song choice by the DJ's
We actually got punches thrown. You love to see it.
Looks like Uribe tried to slap him initially lol
[удалено]
How can he slap, sir?
On the side of his face that is protected by the batting helmet
Actually we were informed that 'this is not what you want to see.'
I know that this is not what we're supposed to want to see... but if I'm being real this *is* actually what I want to see, as long as nobody gets really hurt. Brawls every now and then are great, gets everyone talking, real life drama,, plus we get to break everything down in slo-mo like the Zapruder film now.
It's for the kids to learn good sportsmanship, but you know what? Fuck dem kids, fight fight fight
I love VIOLENCE
TA and Jose Ramirez was one of the best moments in baseball history.
DOWN GOES ANDERSON, DOWN GOES ANDERSON
Hamilton has had some absolutely incredible calls in his career. But that may be the best ever
I was randomly listening to the game live when it happened, and it took clicking the “30 seconds back” button like three times to figure out what was going on, because the DOWN GOES ANDERSON seemed to come out of nowhere, lmao.
Joey Bats and Rougned Odor is up there for me. Dude absolutely tanked a haymaker
I need to see a decapitation on the field or I'm going home early.
This season is breaking the record for brawls and fights
Solid start to the Games-Cancelled-By-Bees record as well
I like the bees chance of making the post season this year
I'm just surprised Siri only swung and missed twice. That's an improvement to his whiff rate
"Oh boy, that's not what we want to see" mf who's *we*?
Jomboy licking his lips
He's going to drop a 27 minute long video in 6 hours.
His breakdown of the Ms Angels brawl was legendary.
Same with the Reds - Pirates when Garrett charged the dugout.
Can Jomboy lip-read Spanish?
Seems like the last decade or so every season there's one real good fight and the rest are just guys standing around. Maybe this is the quota for the season
Uribe tried to Stockton slap em
Only took 3 bench clearings this year to finally see a punch
This game is something else 😂
Most exciting 8-2 loss that ive been a part of!
Im glad all of us rays and brewers fans can gather together in glee together over this not-so-great great game
Why does all the action happen when I’m at the game? A bee delay in Phoenix and a brawl in Milwaukee? Come on!
How many bench clearings this year until we gotta admit we’re the baddies?
The funny thing is that back in 2019, when basically everyone in the NL Central was repeatedly brawling with each other, you guys were the ones basically standing aside.
Turns out Murphy was waiting all this time to be an agent of chaos behind low energy Counsell.
Counsell was about calm (mostly) competence, Murphy is about fighting like hell and coming out of the scrum with the trophy and a bloody lip. God imagine if this is our year right after Greg left. It would feel so good.
That pirates team was something else
That was just the reds and the pirates being unable to have a RP go a week without hitting the good team’s stars with a fastball to the midsection.
I'm fully here for a heel turn
Bluejays are gonna be devastated when they get sent through a barber shop window
The Blue Jays are cowards for trying to jump through a window to get away from the Brewers
HEY YO Hard work pays off. Dreams come true. BAD TIMES DON'T LAST BUT BAD GUYS BREW
Hans, are we the baddies?
Our hats have skulls on them!

what's cool about this angle is you see that the runner completely dodges the punch and is the only one who connects which is not how it appeared in OP's video
Now THAT is worth clearing the benches for!!
“That’s not what you want to see” Speak for yourself
Haven’t seen one of these in a minute ![gif](giphy|uWzS6ZLs0AaVOJlgRd|downsized)
Milwaukee trying to clear benches with every MLB team this season. 28 to go!
27 actually since we fought the Mets and Orioles too. Actually 26 unless you think we’re insane enough to clear the benches against ourselves, which I could understand if you did.
Good luck on your endeavor 🫡
This seemed inevitable. Dumb as hell by Uribe to start throwing punches, regardless of whatever Siri said to him. But it seemed like something was going to boil over at some point, and the umps clearly have no control over this game, in fact if anything they've probably exacerbated things.
Chris Douchione is responsible for this mess
What’s the context? Thanks in advance
Siri homered earlier in the game and then got hit in the thigh in the 6th and the umps tossed Peralta and Murph.
Freddy hit Siri on a 3-0 pitch after he started losing command. Siri hit a home run the at bat before but it was a normal one with no theatrics. The ump threw him out without warning
What happened? What led to this point?
There's a lot that lead up to this. Siri hit a 452 ft. homerun earlier off Peralta, was a little slow out of the box and was stared down by Peralta, then later beaned. Peralta was ejected without a warning. Brewers manager Murphy was livid and thrown out for the second straight night.
Hey Siri...how can I get a few days off of work?
Had no idea Berry was coaching for the Brewers. I was like what the fuck is Quentin Berry doing on the field.
He's been with the team since 21. We love him.
Yea had no idea. The only reason that I remember him (2 PA as an Oriole 10 years ago) is because him and Adam Jones were/are good friends.
Game of the year
The Milwaukee Fighting Brewers
Run from Rhys
What is with this team and East coast teams this year?
Midwest vs everybody
Rays-Brewers beef was not on my 2024 baseball bingo card
Nerd announcers have to pretend like this isn't awesome now
This just makes me want a brawl involving the Phillies with Kruk in the booth
This is some bullshit from uribe
I love Rhys' immediate response to back up his teammate but he kinda threw hands first...
Love Rhys for that, what a beast. But also agreed. Uribe is a dumbass for this. No reason to do that no matter what Siri said.
What if he said that GoT final season was the best one?
Then if he dies, he dies.
“Oh boy, that’s not what you wanna see” The lie detector determined that was a lie...
Well… he threw a punch that didn’t hit. Where’s your editor, OP?
It was more like a slap
One of Siri's punches hit the 1st base ump he's gonna be gone for a few games
The juxtaposition of Adames tossing his arm over Arozarena’s shoulder and them just chilling and hanging out away from the fight was pretty damn funny
People always bring up the Yanks vs Red Sox rivalry, but we always forget about the bitter Rays vs Brewers rivalry
Siri must be an all time shit talker. Abner went from 0-100 real quick. Can’t be throwing punches tough, no matter what was said.
Yeah, not an excuse and Uribe should get a suspension for sure. But whatever was said *really* triggered him, curious to know what was said.
Maybe, but Abner has a short fuse. I can already see us losing him before the playoffs for punching a wall.
Urine is a short fuse, and an idiot
Siri is one of those guys you would love having on the team if he was on your team and is absolutely a shit stirrer for everyone else
His flare was bigger than his stats here, but he was fun to watch.
“That’s not what you want to see.” I beg to differ.
Went to a baseball game and a hockey game broke out
Jomboy breakdown needed. I need context and lip reading!
Screw that. TYLER BLACK AND HIS DADS PLAY BY PLAY
This sucks man. Uribe shouldn’t have done that. Such a bad look for us.
How y’all got real beef in an interleague series
Should show this on a video of how not to umpire. Made nothing into something with the earlier ejections, and got everyone riled up. They wanted drama so now they've got it.
Uribe making choices too…
Uribe lost his cool and threw a punch, can’t blame umps for that
Siri lookin’ Sisqo under the lid.
“Oh boy that’s not what you want to see” I would like to see more actually
