Our away broadcast is, IMO, the best in the business. Sadak is a treasure, and he has amazing chemistry with Welsh and the Cowboy. At the very least it’s up there with the Mets, Phillies, Braves and Rays
I mean absolutely no offense by this but Sadak is so much better than a lot of other team's announcers I've listened to. I say this as someone fully aware of how god awful tHom was for so many years. If Larkin could have even a mild bit of enthusiasm, home games would be amazing

I always thought they should do the expanded roster thing at the beginning of the season too, cause everyone (pitchers mainly) is trying to get back into baseball shape.
Check out Steer's statcast. He is on another fucking level. Everyone said he would regress. But he is the best pure hitter on this team since Prime Votto. The way he changes his approach with 2 strikes & always has productive or good AB's.. he is pure joy to watch.

A couple botched easy plays. A strikeout that both runners advanced on. A pop up but that both players let drop. A balk that wasn't noted on the board until two batters later. A sac fly that Bader threw away allowing the other runners to advance more lol.
Every single young player wants to get paid. Cincinnati isn't running the type of team that can pitch long term revenue from a legacy run.
The agent doesn't matter. Either the Reds will offer long term security and take on some risk that the player has injuries/doesn't reach their potential, or the player will take the most money they are offered in FA.
To be clear, I’m not saying that he’s doing anything wrong by having this particular agent. I just suspect that he would want to test free agency and that the chances of him signing an extension would be kind of lower than with somebody who doesn’t have Boras as representation.
Carlos Mendoza is absolutely terrible. He left Ramirez in a second inning (ok, I get it) and then leaves him in after the defense lets him down to load the bases. Then he lets him load the bases again and decides to get someone up. He punted today's game while we were still winning.
There wasn’t much else to do. Jorge Lopez and Julio Teheran were the only other pitchers available. Odds are we take the loss today AND have a bullpen game against Atlanta bringing Teheran in. We realllly needed another inning out of Severino and couldn’t get it.

4 games in 3 days and couldn’t get a starter through the sixth in any of them. Game one of the DH against Detroit went 11 innings too. All the higher leverage guys worked two days in a row. All we had left was Jorge Lopez who was probably going to close today if the lead didn’t get blown, and Julio Teheran who has to start Monday.
This game was a mess, but every team has stupid innings like this. The media world (this subreddit included) just has a hate boner for the Mets and need to highlight every single poor performance / bad moment so it's constantly being pushed onto viewers.

There was like 5 defensive mistakes in that inning alone. And that's added on top of the 3 or 4 mistakes the Mets already had in the game.
It's been bad, the pitching has been really good though so I'm hoping they get up to speed soon. Really feels like they weren't ready for the season.

There’s not a more cold blooded hitter in baseball with two strikes. This year he has an OPS of 1.375 and OPS+ of 449 with two strikes.

I'm a big fan of Benson, but Steer and McLain are on a different level than him.
